- hello,
Leakage inductance in a transformer is an inductive component that results from the imperfect magnetic linking of one winding to another.
In an ideal transformer, 100% of the energy is magnetically coupled from the primary to the secondary windings. Imperfect coupling reduces the signal induced in the secondary windings. The electrical equivalent is some self-inductance in series with the primary windings that are properly coupled. This series inductance is the "leakage inductance.
With this video you will get an idea how to measure the leakage inductance of high frequecny transformer. In high frequency operation very small leakage inductance will paly very critical role.
i have explain what is that & Why it is producing in transformer and How you can measure it using LCR meter practically.
thankyou

Hi, very clear and informative. Is it any way to calculate leakage inductance by formula?
Good practical Explanation in the last...........thankyou
Very informative video 📸
Well done 👍
Good
How can you calculate magnetization resistance
There is no magnetizing resistance it is inductance that you can find by measuring primary coil inductance by opening the secondary coil.
Why is there loss of 14v from hand wound toroid transformer output with separate winds on core not overlapping. The frequency of primary was matched to source AC, the primary and secondary windings are in same direction and entire ring core is covered with wire , but 2 separate sides. I thought the core under Primary caused induction into separate secondary windings. Desparate.
Good question
What is operating frequency
Also depends how you did winding and number of turns current carrying capacity of conductor
Good afternoon. Please could you help me? Or better say give me right way? We have little transformer 24rounds on primary, 2 rounds on one secondary and 2 rounds on second secondary winding. Calculated leakage inductance is aroun 10uH. This inductance is only without cores... When I put the cores into the transformer. Leakage inductance rise up to 30uH. Cores are E ferites. Airgap 1mm between allcolumns. Is it possible to compensate "core effect"? I was think, that the main factor is geometry of the coil for leakage inductance and influence of the core is minimal. But in this case it seems that influence of the core is main...
How you are measuring leakage inductance?
@@scienceinnovativebrain Good morning. We ve measured by RCL on 1kHz And 100kHz with shorted secondary winding. Then we ve measured by DC device Dpg100 with shorted secondary od course....results Are almost thé samé .Sorry Im wrting on phone
You want to make less leakage inductance with core insert condition? Finally
What is application and voltage level in primary and secondary. And VA rating
@@scienceinnovativebrain Thank you for your interest. I will write this values tommorow.. I know that is 400V primary, 24V secondary, but I dont know direct VA Power. Its only one of my project...
Sir if i did short circuit secondary and measure Primary side by LCR meter then it is over all leakage inductance referred to primary side or only leakage inductance of primary side??
It will be the primary side only for the secondary side short primary coil
Thankyou sir
