- Decided to delete the electric brake booster that comes on the 2gs gs300/400s. I'm on a full Standalone and no longer using the factory abs or traction control and wanted to free up some space, it's also a esthetically pleasing.
below is a list of parts I used to complete the conversion.
BRAKE BOOSTER & MASTER CYLINDER
Lexus ES300 1995-1996
Toyota Avalon 1995-1999
Toyota Camry 1995-2001
Toyota Solara 1999-2003
Any auto parts store should carry those 2 parts, I purchased mine from ebay.

Great video on the brake booster. I been thinking on moving forward with doing a traditional brake booster instead. I had purchased the chase bays booster and really have been contemplating on using it. This looks cleaner and it works!
Yea wasn't too bad of an install and definitely works.
thank you for the very informative video! really appreciate this type of content! awesome channel !! ill be doing this to my gs
Appreciate it 🙏🏾 🫡
Great video brother simple and easy explanation
🫡🙏🏾.....appreciate it
Is it possible to use the original lines that ran to the oem brake booster and just put the proportioning valve there instead? I’m asking for people who aren’t too handy making and re-flaring new lines.
Yes it's possible and will work just fine, just won't look as clean.
Thanks. I had a weird failure with where that plastic elbow goes into the old master, it started leaking around the plastic elbow one cold morning.
Yea, that weird 😕
Great video you save me man thank you😀
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks
Goal!

Great video. Been thinking about doing this.Gives me a bit more confidence. Mine works but has a constant leak. Where did you tie the vacuum line in at? THANK YOU.
Vacuum line went to a Vacuum port at the bottom of my intake manifold.
Only hiccup I had was the chase bay convex union was that the stock Toyota fittings aren’t threaded all the way down so had to switch them out and the black sleeve Toyota uses was a pain to peel back enough
Yea I noticed that when I tried to delete the union from the rear. So I put the union back and just cut the stock Fittings off the lines I took out. Honestly thinking back I should have put that in the video
@@CmoneyGarage yeah, that’s why I mentioned it just hope ppl read the comments ,great video still 🤙
Nice video man. What size is the vacuum fitting on the booster? Just so I know what size fitting to get so I can have it welded to my intake manifold
3/8
That was nice 👍🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿💯💯💯

Great job I want to do this to my aristo. What transmission are you using?
Thank you....CD009
Good day, bro .do you have a link for the master cylinder fuel level plug/ connector. Which wires do you connect to
Not sure I understand what you asking 🤔
How does the pedal feel with the Avalon booster versus the canister on the oem unit? I’m going to 6 piston front & 4 piston rear on my aristo and I don’t think factory unit will like it very much. I think I’ll need to adjust my bias too and no adjustment on factory unit..
Pedal feels good, to me it's a little softer and smoother than the Electric booster, but overall nothing out of the ordinary.
Are you using a banjo bolt for the brake lines. Can you put the link of the one you have.
I used 2 banjo That I took off from the electric master , I use the on the new master cylinder.
I have a question .I have a toyota aristo. Do I need all these parts for this conversion
Yea I'm pretty sure it's the exact same setup.
what are the benefits of removing the abs pump? I have also done ls400 calipers on my GS and am wondering if this would be beneficial
There is not alot of reasons to do it if your braking system is working as it should. Cons: it's looks better and Frees up space. It's more reliable that the electric system. Cheaper to mentain is something breaks. On the flip side of that you loose abs and traction control (I already lost by switching to Standalone)
Con is losing abs imo.
I’d love to switch to something else that retains abs but doesn’t fail like the oem unit.
Im doing this right now and the issue im facing is the lines and fitting that go into the master cylinder are bigger then the 3/16 line comming from the calipers. Am i suppsed to just re use the banjo bolt things that come on the lexus orginal brakke booster ??
M10x1.25 is what I used....I did reuse 1 of the banjos for the new master
Thanks for the quick reply brother. So if I use that adapter on the 3/16 line straight to the master it won't cause any issues riight? It's just a bigger line going into the solaara master cylinder I got
That should be fine as long as the fitting screws into the master
Did delete the fuse box and all the wiring that goes to it .
Fusebox is still there but only the horn relay is active in there
nice video,my GS just consider about the same thing, and one question, are you still running the A/C?
Thank you🙏🏾
A/c is currently not working, but plan to have it working in the near future
@@CmoneyGarage does the A/C have to work with ECU?or just give it a power?
@mrjerrylee it's best to have it through the ecu so that way it can cut the clutch at WOT and also easier to control the fans. But it doesn't have to, just signal from the panel to a relay and ground through the pressure switch.
@@CmoneyGarage thanks man,I am also going to run the FT550,the way you set it behind the dash,is a good idea for me,ready to follow it!hope can see more video about your GS
The cluster bezel required some cutting and trimming to make it fit flush.....
The proportioning vowel how many clicks did you have to do?
Honestly I just left it set where it came and seem to be working fine
Ok I plan on doing my this week or next I looked at my proportioning vowel n it on the low side
Are you selling your old unit? I'm guessing just the actual motor goes bad?
Get it done, wasn't too bad
Is this the same process for the is250?
I'm not 100% sure but I don't see it being too different
Does it make a difference if you place the rear brake line on the rear of the master cylinder instead of the front hole. Or do I need to swap them?
No they both produce the same pressure that's why a proportion valve is recommended for the rear
Thank you for the quick reply cause I did not want to swap it over again lol
Np 🫡
Did you remove any of the fuses?
I have a Standalone and not running the factory dash...so I delete all that stuff
Question, your doing this because the original factory unit finally failed & I'm guessing new unit was extremely expensive?
After going Standalone the factory booster wasn't work mainly because it wasn't getting any power source or speed input(not because of a failure), I know they are prone to fail so instead of putting the work in to get it working, I decided to go this route. Should be good for the long haul.
@@CmoneyGarage Ok, now I understand, thankyou & good video.
🫡🙏🏾
What is Standalone ?
The pump is acting up on my sons GS300, I may do this
Standalone is a tune-able aftermarket ecu that totally controls the engine and doesn't rely on the factory ecu for any inputs. Alot of options avaliable Fueltech, Haltech, AEM and many more
@@CmoneyGarage thank you!
Np
What model TEIN coilovers do you have, age what's the spring rates?
Street basis not sure of the spring rate.
@@CmoneyGarage OK gotcha
How much did it cost to do the swap of master cilinder
All depends on parts used but can be done from about $280-$350
@@CmoneyGarage thank you how is your swap working
@saulhernandez1953 working great so far....Pedal feels normal
See you’re running an s369. When does it hit target boost?
3800 ish
@@CmoneyGarage Damn. Ported head? What compression? That’s quick!
9.5:1, not ported, 260cams, bc valve springs, gsc valves. My short gear ratio probably helps with that, I have the cd009 with the gs300 diff 3.92 ratio. Going to swap to v8 diff 3.266. I'm sure it will change but won't be too much worse
@@CmoneyGarage Damn, that’s great! Putting together an engine atm, tho stock comp, and got an s369 waiting for it. Was worried it would be a slug so this is great news 😁. Correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t a longer final drive ratio improve the spool even more as there will be more load on the engine?
Good luck with the build, you are right in most cases it does, but I'm not expecting it to spool any quicker.
Mine oem shit started to leak at the seal... every brake application results in a red braking light on the dash haha... just another thing to fix
Always something else.....lol
@@CmoneyGarage for real haha, but as it everything else it will get sorted out :) great video, if I ever want to go single turbo build and standalone, I'd do the same as you, an traditional vacuum booster or non booster (gonna try that on my Supra next year and see how I like it)

hey boss you have insta? I got some questions about the wire tuck

your absolutely wrong.. the factory ABS pump is needed for the ABS system to work properly. the old 60's vacum booster will not have the capacity to keep up pressure with the ABS system of modern cars.
At what part in the video did I say that this will work with factory abs system?. I specifically said it will delete abs and traction control features. The booster is from a 2000+ Camry and more than capable of supporting abs if I wanted to....🫡
Abs is not needed for base brakes. Abs is supplementary to help tire skid when braking
