And this ladies and gentlemen is why I side with Quincy on the situation. Y'all can say Quincy was in the wrong because he could have went back to her dorm and they could have talked it out all night long but y'all fail to realize it wasn't meeting her at the dorm it was her repeatedly saying I can't I can't because of basketball. Monica got so caught up into being the star of the team that she prioritize basketball over a relationship she had with a boy before she became a star. Here we are 5 years later he's moved on about to get married to somebody else. I'm going to take a wild guess and say in the five years past Monica didn't try to entertain other guys and if she did it didn't last long because she still wanted Quincy. And here's Quincy about to get married and Monica expressing his love for him and she's acknowledging she understands why Quincy broke up with her in college. She said I should have been there for you I just didn't know how to prioritize that and be all about ball.

He did love her But the pain of her leaving him wen he was in need due to the pain caused by his father for cheating on his mother caused him to sink into depression and anger and lost focus Yea he was gonna get married but that was a way seal up the past (pain and trauma) and move on Monica challenged his resolve on life Bcus he’s done it before wen they were kids(he was angry that a girl can play ball) he covered up that bruised ego by asking Monica to be his girl It came full circle ⭕️ Neither of them could truly let go of each other

Monica is definitely not submissive. Her mom was very much that way, which is why they didn’t get along. Monica never respected her mom and you saw why in one of the later scenes in the movie.
Acting is good but the writing is terrible and this romance is trash. Q was not a good boyfriend and showed redeeming qualities. Also, he did not have to dunk, he was trying to establish dominance!
