NFL Training Camp tour continues onto the West Coast as we visit our South California friends sitting down with Rams Head Coach Sean McVay who is the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl and looking to get his team back in winning form after last year's 5-12 season.
Transparently, McVay shares with Ryan, Channing and Fred on how the process has been from battling trials and tribulations as a young coach while climbing the ranks quickly and successfully, but with all the highs come some lows to accept, adjust and move forward from. Reflecting on the Super Bowl run and a roster full of talent for that 2021 team and how winning the Lombard is the pinnacle for that year but isn't the only measurement of success overall.
McVay talks about how the Rams losing season last year grounded them and offered a reset to start the journey again. Being reminded of why he loves coaching, his purpose in the game and impact on the players and coaches is what keeps him motivated and going back to the daily grind.
With more than 35 rookies on the roster this camp, McVay is excited about the energy and chance to mold these players into winning ways and learning from veterans on the team. Ryan asks about the special players on past rosters and in particular they talk about Odell Beckham Jr and what made him rare, both on and off the field. McVay shares some insight into OBJ and shares a differet side of him that most people don't realize.
With QB Matthew Stafford working through injury to get back on the field, McVay understands the expectations that come with returning to the big game and wants his coaches and players all working for the same goal.
Tap in every Tuesday at noon eastern for our premiere episode of the Pivot. Special Training Camp drops on Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm. We are your one-stop platform for all your sports and entertainment content. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming Pivot special episodes!

McVay is literally one of the greatest speakers, period. He’s a sharp dude. Those Rams have a pillar in their hands 💯
I’ve noticed the coaches in pro sports always give better interviews than the players 😅
I’ve been saying the same thing since his 1st podium interview. He’s sharp as a tac. As a St Louis Rams fan. He’s creating a culture with Les I’m proud of. Go Rams
Idk he was kinda long winded to me but I ain’t mad at nobody for being tuned in
Very sharp and stand up coach.
@@SCBB24 Oh he’s DEFINITELY long winded lol. But not in an annoying way for me 🤣
What I took away from this interview is how articulate Sean is. He answered every question leaving zero confusion! He could have a career in keynote speaking or sports commentary if he wanted 💯
Another dope interview fellas!
It is very impressive can’t lie
How can you not love the Pivot?! This show allows every guest to be seen and perceived in a different light. The guests always feel comfortable with RC, Fred, and Channing to naturally be themselves and speak with transparency, honesty, and vulnerability.
Oke of the Main reasons why i havent watcher a debate show in yrs
What Sean does better than anyone I’ve ever seen is use people’s names while talking to them.
Yeah, especially in press conferences lol
Facts bro my man is sharp af I forget ppls names not even 10 seconds after meeting them 😂
Yeah you can tell he's conditioned himself to do that. A quality I have trouble with myself, but I've always respected it.
That impromptu conversation at the end -- with four OGs standing around and chopping it up -- is why the Pivot is undeniable.
I see why Sean Mcvay moved up to head coach quicker than anybody else ever has in NFL history. His attention to detail, charisma, and the way he presents himself is remarkable. I’m only 23 but his social awareness and ability to talk with anyone in the room with such substance in every word just oozes from the screen. I hope I’m able to talk like this one day especially in interview settings 😂
I just love how all 3 of you interview your guests. You work off one another so well. Respect
I like how humble coach is with how he reflects on his experiences that led to a super bowl
The best in the NFL coach still don’t get enough respect for putting my rams back on the map…. shout out to all the real Ram fans🏆🏆 💛💙
Sup Ramily
Pulled the rams out of the dark ages… back when 8-8 was good lol… go rams
He does get a lot of respect. The NFL and celebrities knows who he is 🤦🏾♂️🤣
@@joshgaither7248 Heck ... that was when 5-12 was good.
@@joshgaither7248them 2-14 0-8 starts almost had me suicidal smh jk but some dark dark times man
I would love to see these guys get Randy Moss on The Pivot!
Yes!!! WE NEED RANDY!
Adrian peterson?
I agree!
Randy Moss would be the prefect guest on the Pivot💪
I would like to see Russ Westbrook
YESSIR GET RANDY MOSS ON THE PIVOT
I like how he acknowledged his opportunities afforded to him others were not. That is emotional intelligence!
Exactly. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging facts. Especially for in his situation because he can be like "I definitely have had opportunities that not everyone has, but I've made the most of each one too and not everyone does that either."
You know the interview is good when they can't say goodbye to each other. They filmed another 10mins while standing trying to exit 😂😂😂
I love our coach man! Rams 4 life! I wish he could be our lifetime coach
Factssssss
Agree! Love this kid. We are so lucky to have him.
Love how he addresses each one by name. Dope show
Respect 🫡
As a lifetime Ram fan this interview was a treat ! Love you guys at the pivot !
I have much respect for Sean McVay, he is intellectual, competitive, articulate, passionate and hard working. Best of luck in 2023!
McVays face when they mention Gurley. Man, Todd was a baller in his prime.
That has moved up to one of my favorite Pivot interviews of all time. Last 5 minutes was 🔥!
This felt like a barbershop conversation lol love it 😂
The humble approach he takes to his craft, and the amount he cares about others makes me absolutely love this dude a thousand times more than I already did. Not even a Rams fan, but damn that's a hell of a coach and one hell of a human.
I agree. Not just because I’m a Rams fan. He’s showing ppl how to live with purpose. Great speaking…..
@@harry0042 Couldn’t agree more!
I’m a NFL fan! Specifically Cardinals and Browns due to where I lived, but this dude is so inspiring. Listening to him vs current Browns coach Kevin Stefanski is night and day! Good luck to 2023 Browns though.
As 49ers fan. The hate I have for the rams is beyond this world. That being said. Nothing but respect to coach McVay. That superbowl run is legendary.
How does it feel losing to us in the NFC championship game.
@@nickcastelao6879 you still talking about that 1 win. What about those 10 straight loses. How does it feel to be 49ers female dog? Good girl.
@@nickcastelao6879you better hold onto that 1 year buddy, because its gonna be even worse for yall when stafford and AD retire
(hint: gonna be soon)
You know his grandpa was part of the reason the niners had their Super Bowl success
Cool ass Humbled dude. No attitude at all..All people in life should act like him..👏👏
Coach Mcvay Awesome 👌 from Quality Control Coach In Washington To Head For the Rams 🐏 SuperBowl Winner 🏆 Incredible Journey Hats off To Coach Mcvay !!!!!!!🙌🏾💪🏿👍🏿💙💯 ....
McVay is awesome! Proud to have him as my HC!
A lot of players would love to play for a coach like this!
Rams have the 2nd most cap $$ next year...
As a Rams fan since the original LA RAMS, McVay is such an asset. To hear him say last year he wasn’t the coach he knew he could be, spoke volumes. Realism is important. I respected this man and was so great full for 2021 but now it’s even more.
Love how he asks all three of them what they did to motivate themselves. He is genuinely interested in other people and always looking for chances to learn. That is per of what makes him great!
Rams going on a Rampage this year!! Horns up!
Sup Payo 🤘
@@JAC42lafc hey !!🤘🤘
I love how they show us the conversations after the interview is over.
The Rams are my team. I grew up in L..A. when they were there until 1994 & was overjoyed when they came back to L.A. in 2016. Coach Sean McVay has been the best Coach the Rams have ever had as far as I'm concerned. And not only has he taken us to the SuperBowl in 2019 but we won in 2021. I love everything about that.
Correction 2022. I just woke up. Lol
It was in 2022 but the season was for 2021. You had it right lol
What an insight and inspiration to coaching. This season people will take notice of how well the Rams are coached!
I love how they got emotional talking about how big this got. This is one of my favorite ones yet! Great conversation
Another great interview. The OG's know how to ask the right questions and let the conversation flow. McVay was amazing as well. I literally look forward to these every Tuesday and Friday.
Definitely one of the best episodes yet. Coach McVay is a great speaker and shows his personality while doing it.
This is why the pivot is so important! I already loved mcvay as a signal caller now I realise how much of dope guy he is! Nothing but respect for Sean he will be in the nfl for a longtime. Big up the pivot guys too great episode.
Such a smart and empathetic man. Glad he represents Los Angeles
Absolute brilliant mind!! Great guest, great show!! WHOSEEEE HOUSEEEEEE!!💙💛💙💛
Love you coach McVay!
Thanks for the ring
My favorite all time Rams coach. Hope he has a very long tenure.
These last two episodes with terry, and Sean were absolutely phenomenal
Yeah that one with Terry made me respect scary Terry even more.
Loved the behind the scenes at the end! Can't get enough of that
Mcvey speaks really well crazy he’s that young.
In 1999, ESPN picked the Rams to finish dead last in their division. Las Vegas gave them the HIGHEST odds (3500 -1) to win the title. Out of every sports team to every win a title, the 99 Rams were LEAST expected to win a championship, let alone do it with a backup QB who wasn't even drafted and who had spent his time in the arena league.
If ANY team can shock the crap out of some people, it is THIS team. In fact, they're KNOWN for doing things that NO one expects them to do.
Few things make me happier than watching the "experts" eat crow as the Rams defy every convention and every ODDS maker.
Watch us make the sb vs kc
I'm a 50 yr Rams fan who thinks they will have a miserable season. I would LOVE to eat some crow. Perhaps served up by Wolfgang Puck.
Anyone who was in STL in 99 remembers the Domino's story. The Rams were a shit team for a few years before that. Domino's had a deal where every touchdown the Rams scored, the price of Pizza reduced by like $0.99. The greatest show on turf was that year and the Rams were scoring 4,5 touchdowns per games. Guys in STL were buying pizza for $2-3. Domino's deliveries were highest when the Rams played. Absolutely insane.
Its funny Mcvay would not stop talking and at one point RC thought he was done turned to walk away, and Sean started talking again and RC looked around like did anybody see me. Lol
McVay has the chance to be the GOAT of Head Coaches, I hope he see’s this and I hope this drives him.
I hope the rest of the country can see why this man became a ROLE MODEL for me when he took that rams job. I still watch the introductory presser with him and Les and you could tell then and there that if this dude can coach like he can talk and inspire…… we are gonna be fine 🔥
Love this coach so much.
I be waiting on this Podcast like the 1st and the 15th 😂😂
Love how coach acknowledged the nepotism factor as part of his journey in coaching 💯💯💯💯
This is dope ! Love Coach Mcvay 🐏 💯
It was a great interview!
RC looks Pumped up just from watching Coach Speak, he ready to put Pads On😂
Great show fellas
Sean McVay is the man, real chill guy, thanks for having him on 😊
I really appreciate how they always let the guest talk without interrupting them love the podcast keep up the great job gentlemen
Another thoroughly enjoyable interview. Well done 👏🏾
Man I love how they let people talk and not interrupt.
Such an amazing interview! Mcvay is amazing at understanding the opportunities he got early on and cherishing and taking advantage of them! And his ability to communicate is what makes him so successful
Going from a coach that had no passion and repeated himself in every interview to now having THIS man. I knew something good was coming from the hire but he exceeded all our expectations. So happy to have you as our head coach Mcvay !
I think the deal with Fisher was that he liked being a head coach more than he liked winning. His passion wasn't for winning.
@@danstvguy He liked being friends with players, that's about the only positive he had lol
@@aarondonald1611 Thanks AD. Love your game, Dude.
“rams flew me back to have dinner and then i never left LA” 🤣🤣🤣💯 dope asf
Sean McVay is 37
Pete Carroll is 71
He has plenty of years coaching left.
Carroll and McVay ... totally different career trajectories. I see McVay as so much more than an NFL head coach.
McVay is going to be like Madden. Generational coach who becomes a generational broadcaster
Steven Jackson the Forgotten Ram 🐏
Forgotten by who??? He was the only good part of the Rams for yeaaaaaarrrrrrssss.
Yeah but when u think of the rams Steven Jackson is the Forgotten 1....
Wasted his career there smh
He is not forgotten there's a reason why Sean McVay brought him back for for a day so he can retire a ram like Sammy they said he is a student of the game and he Geeks out over it so he knows what kind of person Steven Jackson was and is
I can see how this guy got the job so young. Full of charisma and knowledge. Damn good interview.
27:12 "Let your nuts hang!"
-- Super Bowl winner Sean McVay 😂
Naming my unborn child Sean after this legend let’s gooooo
Sean Mcvay is always great tv. Always got new stories - well done the pivot for exploring different aspects❤
Mcvay came in talking about boxing I just know this interview bout to be fire 🔥
So glad they kept the last 7 minutes on here!!!🎉🎉
You guys have the best show period 💪🏿
I’m a titan fan it would be great for you guys to get Derrick Henry on the show!
As a Rams Die Hard this was mad appreciated. Great episode as always. Mob Squad what up?!
Saw you guys at practice on Monday and was waiting for this!
I love the fact that they had some type of play in the background on the board and they made sure to make it blurred.... Nice😊
Best NFL podcast in the world 💯💯%%
Shout out from a HUGE 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 fan yall
Hope one day I can meet yall in Chicago after we win a Super Bowl (cuz maybe we will be dead befo that happens again 😂😂)
Yall should do a Urlacher episode! Guy comes from New Mexico and gets picked 9ovr and then becomes a HOF he fo sureee has a LOOOOT of good stories 🐻⬇️
I love the fact that ops for him means opportunity and not opposition 💯
Great Job , excellent interview, nowonder tv executives will be lining up for McVay is a ball of energy
When the coach & QB can both say they threw TDs to Megatron 🔥
Coach giving RC his 🌹 was amazing & hearing that story🔥🔥 Thank you guys for another banger.
This should be a good one. He has a brilliant football mind.
Thank you. A rare hour on youtube of feel good entertainment.
Been a Ram fan since 1973. Been waiting for a Sean McVay without realizing it my entire time as a Ram fan. Will never take having this guy as the head coach of my team for granted. Great interview.
very very intelligent man, Coach McVay is
Love my Coach. HORNS UP!!🤘🤘💪❤️
McVay is a Mans, Man! Much respect! 🔥
Great interview fellas! Keep the great content coming.
Outstanding interview, would like to see more NFL HC’s & GM’s. Hopefully Campbell & Holmes are getting lined up. Pivot does it again!
Love the format of this show. Love where y’all are going with it!
Great episode!!! I didn’t know how humble coach McVay is. This is why I love The Pivot. It’s not only about the great stories we get to hear
Chan practicing his Will Smith laugh.🤣
Jaycee Horn, top ten pick. Joe horn went from a late round pick out of a JUCO in MS to a pro bowl player, the greatest TD celebration of all time, barely missed a Super Bowl because he went to Atlanta to play with Vick but Vick got arrested, and last but not least Joe got caught up in the NFL health care fraud case. That would be a great interview
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣...3 of YOU are absolute ✨✨✨! Sean is super 🆒.
Love the podcast !!! Keep it up boys !
Best in the West 💙💛🐏
Love y'all. Great work.
McVay is a certified legend
Get AD99 next!! 💪🏽
Its funny hearing him talk because you can almost hear “the gruden” in him lol. I know he isn’t a gruden, but he really sounds like a younger John at times.
Good to see My Coach seem like a regular guy cussing in all new respect u welcome to all the hoods
Mcvay voice to me always sounded like gruden but genuine he’s like alternate universe gruden but can coach lmao
Another 🔥 episode 👏🏾
🗣Coachhhhh!!!! 💙💛
When the Rams made the decision to pay Todd Gurley, and he got injured the way he did. That’s what ended RB’s getting paid. And McVay is on record saying the Rams will never pay another RB because of that situation, and the rest of the NFL teams followed suit.
I enjoyed watching this one so much respect for mcvay
Great episode. Can we get Mike McDaniels up soon young boy genius. Fins up!!!
Another classic interview
Another one great show 👊🏿🙏🏿
