  • This is the 8th video in our playlist of our motorhome holiday to Spain. We leave the tranquil Mar Menor and drive north to Benicassim, another stunning location. We stay at the Bonterra Resort and take a look around the resort and surrounding areas. We also head along the Via Verde and were rewarded with spectacular views.

We've stayed in Benicassim many times & know it quite well now. We enjoyed your Video on the approach to Bonterra Resort although we've never stayed there, only Camping Azahar and mainly Camping Tauro. We use ACSI CC.

Bonterra Resort is great for exploring the town, Mercadona and Lidl also in easy reach on foot. Shame that the beach isn't nearer but worth the effort as the sea front is lovely, especially a stroll along "la Ruta de las villas" stunning old villas steeped in history. You can just imagine the rich from Castillon and Valencia at the end of 19th and beginning 20th century partying away at the weekends and holidays. The only problem we found with Bonterra Resort was the numerous pigeons in the trees overhead.

Thank you for your comment. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to return on another trip. I don’t know if it was the time of year, or maybe where our pitch was located, but thankfully we didn’t have a pigeon problem. I agree that the seafront is lovely, it’s a beautiful area 😊

Hi, just watching the Xmas travel vlogs 👍 can I ask out of all the Spain coastal sites that you stayed on, which one was the best? I like clean pitches..not too squashed in and bars locally (but not benidirm😂) thank you for your insights ❤

Hi, thank you for watching our vlogs and for your comment 🙂 That's a difficult one really as they all had their good points for different reasons. We liked Bonterra Resort in Benicassim because it has an on site bar and there were some nice beach bars, however, we felt the pitches were a little squashed and it wasn't easy to get onto the pitch, but once on, we were fine. We loved Camping Mar Menor and they had a nice on site bar and restaurant where you could chill outside looking at the water, during the summer months their beach club would be open too. But it's quite a way to get to any other bars, the nearest would be going along the boardwalk and promenade into Los Alcazares. Then there is Nomadic Valencia Camping Car. We were lucky and had the end plot opposite the reception, we booked direct and booked a larger plot. It was all clean and short walk into the local town where we found 1 local bar, however, the metro stop is only a 5 minute walk from the site and you can be in Valencia city centre within 15-20 mins. Sorry for the long response but hope it's helpful. 😀
