For the top side red x u can attack her once and step one tile back that puts her in cycle too :)
I'm kinda glad you didn't do it perfectly so we can see we don't have to be tick gods to pull this off. I think it'd be helpful to cover how to dodge falling boulders while staying in cycle so you don't get too low to tank a hit when resetting.
I think it's also useful for beginners to know WHY you Red X: Since the only move Ba-Ba can do when you're under her is stomp, and since you constantly move under her in cycle, you not only keep her from meleeing you but also from using the throw special or summoning monkeys.
When you're in a group, one person doing the Red X lets the other players absolutely wail on her without a care. HOWEVER, two things people should know: one, Ba-Ba targets the first person to enter the room, then the person with lowest HP after each boulder phase. If you're Red Xing for your group, you might want to intentionally take damage (the first melee can be enough). Second, if someone in your group is Red Xing, don't hit Ba-ba after the boulder phase until they've set up the cycle.
These are all really good and valid points! People really gravitate to these kinds of videos because of the brevity in length, I do try to include clips of how to handle certain things but I don't cover every bit and bob, just the major thing at play. I was hoping to do a big ol video sometime later about how to do a "Perfect" Toa

1:02 You don't need to understand ticks in order to explain it using ticks. Just put the video/audio metronomes on for one example, and we can work the timings out from that.

No! It depends on the timing in which you're actually underneath her. She does this in place of her attack, so if you are using the method in the video you shouldn't have to do 3

Yeah I was recording this for my australian friend, I came to his world. If anything it backed up the fact that anyone can do this! but it is the reason that i got bonked by the boulder
