Thankyou for keeping them up to catch up on later A haunted (looking) place in Melbourne that would be so interesting but I'm sure impossible to get access to would be the old, unused buildings on The Austin hospital site in Heidelberg. There's amazing history there, it was founded in 1882 and served as a repatriation hospital during the war. When I was there visiting my sister while she was in the amazing Olivia Newtown Jon cancer center we went for a wander and there are some very spooky old buildings still on the site that seem unused and super creepy looking.
Hospitals are fascinating places. We had the metropolitan hospital here for a year, once it closed down, before it was demolished. Unfortunately, while they are operating, they aren't keen on people coming in lol.
@@haunted-horizons They really are fascinating, I was fortunate enough to do a tour of Kew Asylum once they closed and before they were renovated for housing, another very spooky place and cannot imagine living there, even now that they are all renovated and fancy! 😂
You're probably aware of Toowong Cemetery . I've also heard Newstead House is, when I went I enjoyed the history but it didn't seem particularly spooky. Croydon pub is another one, it's an outback town up towards Mt Isa; we were there back in the 80s but never actually went to the pub. To add to what was said regarding Monte Christo in chat it doesn't surprise me that they don't allow private investigations, there's a lot of bric-a-brac throughout and not everyone is respectful, plus as you said it's also a family home. I had some experiences there, mostly feelings.
I had heard of Toowong but not Newstead House. I do want to come up that way eventually, we just need a handful of places to make it worthwhile. I will keep digging! Thank you x
@haunted-horizons There seem to be plenty of haunted places and ghost tours, but I don't how many would be open to your kind of investigation. BTW I grew up in Adelaide, Para Hills to be precise 🙂
