    In Finland-Swedish, this bun is called a "fastlagsbulle" and in Finnish "laskiaispulla". They are also common in Finland. And what we in Finland call a "semla" is actually a "bread roll"

      In Estonia also. We call the bun "vastlakukkel" and we have a holiday called "vastlapäev" where people go sledding on that day and eat pea soup and a lot of vastlakukkel.

    In Estonia we call them "vastlakukklid". It's also a big thing in Estonia.
    We eat them on the "vastlapäev" with peasoup.

    We eat these as well in Finland and they are popular when it’s the season. And we also have an option to get with bits of almond and with strawberry/raspberry jelly inside the bun.

      we sometimes use mandelmassa and sometimes sylt instead, about half of the finns want sylt and half mandelmassa.
      You probably like the sylt one if you don't like that one.
      Also I don't ever make my own ones, I just buy the fazer ones from the store.
