I just bought my 18 DC R/T today this is gonna be the first performance mod I’m doing thanks man loved the video definitely subbed!
Your channel is an inspiration to me , how you started with a regular challenger with a high APR and how upgrading to a HEMI V8 lol. 1 day I'll get there , I'm still with a Charger V6 for the meantime 🙏
Fijiizz yeah I'm rocking with a 2019 charger GT it has the Blacktop edition and the Scatpack body it's fucking nice, as long as your happy fuck what people think , only thing it lacks is performance but I don't care since I don't got $$ to be spending on gas 24/7
Kaneki exactly man. I got an sxt 2018 challenger. Saves me money on has & total for insurance and note is only 520$ a month🤷🏽♂️.
Kaneki me to man I had mines for 2 weeks now I still turns heads lol
Shad Thagodd 😂😂😂😂😂😂 still a v6
@@kaneki467 man bro the GTs are sick. I rented one from my job for a road trip and MPG was golden haha and for a heavy sedan with a V6 it hides its weight very well with that 300hp
I've got an aFe CAI on my challenger srt8, and is much better when done together with performance exhaust. She's got 3" pipe with 2 open chamber racing bullets, which also eliminates the resos and sounds awesome
new sub man keep up the good work. I just purchased my 2019 R/T and love it. perfect starting platform for modding.
$200 worth of stickers and $125 worth of intake. Lol
Added an aftermarket x pipe this wknd, 20 torque added. Usually hit 380s now it'll go to 400s
What brand?
Which one
I just purchased the same air intake. let's see if I liked I always buy the K&N brand
did u liked ? or still KN better ?
Your stock lower air box looks identical to the hellcat’s lower intake box where it has a inlet hole that you weren’t sure of. That works if you purchase a mopar air duct that fits right onto that hole and the whole air duct just extends all the way to the fender grill area sucking that fresh air right into the box. Same if you bought an AFE GT momentum kit instead of this one, that one has a same inlet hole specially designed to fit the mopar air inlet duct. The one you bought is very good at collecting heat at idle, because the air box is not sealed like the stock box or AFE GT momentum one, and the heat generated by the radiator is blown right at the intake filter. If you want a better performance, definitely go back to your stock box and get the mopar air duct and a radiator shield to fit along with, (they dont cost much) that would give you so much more air as well as dropping your intake temp significantly both at running and idling. Or spend more at the GT momentum kit along with the air duct kit too but i dont see a necessity for it other than its look. Hopefully this helps!
100% open air boxes are so bad for these cars because the engine puts off so much heat beat his intake temp is easily 150+
Yeah aFe has got good products and have one on my SRT8
HELL OF A DIFFERENCE
Idk about R/ts but 392s I bought the afe gt momentum on the dyno I only gained 6whp I returned it for a K&n typhoon aluminum I gained 16whp only down side for K&n at idle or sitting it gets hot fast but cools down fast too
I feel like intakes make the biggest difference on a 6 cylinder. A v8 will always sound good but a v6 really gets woken up. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t put one on a v8 car because i would.
lol yea it def makes a world of a difference on V6s and as far as V8s go it allows it to breath a lot better and really allows the cooler air to flow in
ShadowDriftSTL damn I posted this comment 2 months ago.
@@GXKid06 yea I had saw that after I replied haha
i’ll be getting mine next week🤑
Love your channel man! You got Rams and chargers! I just got a 2013 charger R/t plus and I was looking for upgrades, and found you! What brand is your phone holder on the side?
Glad you like it! ProclipUSA.com
I’ve been here since 500 subs
sounded like the exhaust was deeper after the CAI, right when you started it
going to add this to my 2020 charger gt blacktop
It's all about the power of suggestion, not cost effective in my opinion. Besides, there's rarely any "cold" air in the desert, and no "cold" air this time of year.
@Doggy-style1994 That's my point, the term "cold air intake box" is a misnomer. Technically speaking the stock air intake box on the Challengers and Chargers are "cold air intake boxes" because they are sealed from drawing air from the engine bay. The term "cold air intake" is a marketing gimmick and not worth the money. You could install a Hellcat air intake for a third of the cost. BTW, it looks like he already has a Hellcat box but no duct to suck air from behind the grille, unlike the Challenger which sucks air from the inner headlight and from the bottom of the box which is sealed.
103 degrees outside! You're
not getting No cold air into the intake...
I feel like he didn’t really cover the real meaning of it, didn’t once bring up the temperature of it before and after
I think he said the factory CAI stayed around 120-140 and the new one was at 122 but im not sure if he did a follow up video or not
12:15
Now thats how you drive a car
You should of tried a 0-60 test before and after the intake
I have a 2019 Dodge Charger RT stock supposedly it comes with 370 but on the dyno was hitting early 4’s FYI
xavier favors he barley got to 320
@@zorionmeeks1373 im guessing he barely pushed it and he took it out of sport mode for his runs for some reason. but my performance pages in my RT shows my car pushin around 402hp and a little more torque stock on full throttle from a dig and low speed roll
@@zorionmeeks1373 it drops to around 370-380hp and around 395-400tp once it gets up to speed
Dont forget he lives in a hot area his intake temp was 113 I'm sure your stock r/t wont even push 370 with it being over 100 outside. My r/t stock a few weeks ago pushed 380 something but it was 50 degrees outside which is a huge difference
Get a 180 t stat and port your 5.7 Manifold and upgrade your throttle body to 85mm or 87mm max size on 5.7. But I'm upgrading to a 6.4 intake manifold, 87mm throttle body and corsa CAI(6.4) for for my 5.7 and I already have a 180 t stat
Hey quick question I also have a 57 and I plan on getting a six for intake manifold and on the cold air intake should I get the 64,s Version of a cold air intake instead of the 57?
I don’t know about 17HP.. You should see if it improved your 0 to 60 time. When I installed mine, I actually couldn’t match my best time before the install. The other thing that bothers me is calling it a CAI. Its
pulling air from the same spots so I don’t see how the intake temps could improve. Whats your thoughts.
Because the heat shield around the air filter keeps the air cooler as it's pulled in.
SDolemite92 Do some 0 to 60 runs and let us know if its just the placebo effect
@@challengerman6076 I actually had a CAI installed on my 19 challenger rt and definitely noticed a power difference. It wasn't a placebo effect. I had it dyno'd before and after the CAI installation. Gained 11hp and 13 tq.
SDolemite92 That’s not bad, I’ll take an 11HP gain. I just changed my PCM with diablosport and their 91oct tune on my 2018 RT Challenger. I turned the 4cyl mode off. Really love the results, you should consider doing that. The tune really makes a difference. It is a little expensive, I opted to buy an additional PCM rather then a swap. That way I could always go back for any warranty issues.
@@challengerman6076 I might as well. I'm going to need a tune once my other planned mods are installed anyway lol. I need better tires too. I got it about 2 months ago and I'm still on the stock 245's. Which suck btw.
I was wondering if that whistle sound was normal. I hear it on mine. Good looking out!
David, is that cold intake worth it or not
Also have 19 with 5.7
@@craigwilson1284 it’s worth it
@craigwilson1284 do not put an open air box on your car, this is the worst thing u could possibly do all that engine heat is getting sucked into the intake get a closed box like the hellcat oem or a momentum gt that's what I have my intake temp went from 150+ from an open box air raid intake to 1 to 2 degrees above ambient with the momentum gt. You will get way more power gains and it will be way better for your engine
Hey great vid your intake temps seem pretty high no?
Is it?
Open top air boxes are the worst thing u can add to chargers and challengers
I would have thought you would need to disconnect the battery then reconnect to get the system to relearn air management...
U really need to add the bullet throttle in that intake then pro charge sound should be there
If you live in a hot climate keep that car in a garage, 2 of my door panels separated from heat. Mine is only 2 years old with 25k miles, thankfully it's under warranty but a $700 repair per door out of warranty
Vultite do you mean the top part of the deal is folded upwards? Happened on my uncles Charger from it sitting outside. His is a 2017 with 26k miles
@@PeRRXX yep, top part curled up and away from the door. The back order for replacement panels is pretty bad right now, they only fixed one door and waiting on another panel. Oh and my 8.4 screen started to separate too... I've also seen that on other chargers and it took a week to get one in.
legmaker intake hellcat is the best for all even sxt
Wait I thought rt don’t have the same differential as scat pack. Is that stock and I didn’t know you can slide a rt that easy!
I just got a 19 and it has vents in the grille for air box
Dope vid. U gotta get u a oil catch can. They’re highly Recommend for the R/T
JC Kickzzz why is that I am just curious ? I have a 2018 Dodge Charger rt
@@carlosbishop6386 Every V8 muscle car should have a catch can, a lot of oil will end up going through your intake if you don't. I catch about 4-5oz of oil per oil change and the Hellcat guys capture 2-3 times that much due to high crankcase pressures. Even the turbo 4 guys run catch cans for the same reason.
Jc, cold intake worth it or not...thanks
@@carlosbishop6386 Catch Can's are snake oil and have been proven to be so for years. It's just another product they sell. Just like a CAI. You gain 2-5 HP at most but they sell it as 15+ HP increases which is not true.
So I was thinking about getting this cold air Intake for my newly purchased Dodge Charger GT. But I'm scared its going to make it slower. I say that because I purchased a K&N air filter for my Kia Optima SX and it made it alot slower for whatever reason. So I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem or if it was just me?
Your filter has to be isolated From getting hot air from engine, you have to get a closed box air intake
Why’d you go with the afe?? i’m planning to buy a dodge challenger soon and still deciding the first mods/companies i want to go with.
Sounds damn good
you look like the big brother from home improvement
Damn nice 💯imma do this ASAP💯🔥
Get some 305 or 315 tires in the rear ???? Those 245s don't do justice 😉 my v6 Challenger stock is Incredible and not using sport mode I got 315/35/20 on 10.5x20s
Don’t u need a tune for it to work
What mufflers you running or is it mid delete?
Does the new filter needs more cleaning and attention????
How did you just slide that car like that is it an 3.09 LSD or an open diff
That’s what I’m saying lol
Did u take the negative battery off first when you installed it?
No need to
What all did you have done on the car?
Thank you
Does it only measure wheel horsepower or crank too?
good day, when changing the air filter, does not affect the warranty of the dealer?
No it won't.
How were you goofing around and getting 19mpg? My average is 11 wtf is something wrong with my car lol its used i wonder if its tuned
Shit nvm I thought it was a scatpack i was gunna say not only the gas mileage i was confused looking at the power numbers lol
@@jak3est I’m at 16.9 mpg lol but when I was racing it all day I was at 9.8
Yo bro how did u take the sensor off the factory tube ?
Can you give me more info on that pro clip where you got it
Was the cold air intake installed after your mid muffler delete?
before
Does it affect the MPG? Do we need to change the manifold as higher volume of air flows into the engine?
Possibly better gas mileage since the engine can breathe better and the air is "Colder" but you dont need to change your manifold just for an air intake because its not forced air going into the engine... You are thinking about turbos or superchagers
kvsingh fax
Which is better? The K&N filter or this?
I’ve installed both actually(I installed a K&n on my friend’s 300) As far as quality the aFe is way nicer and a lot easier to install, Performance wise you can never really tell a difference.
123F doesn't seems cold
Does oiled filter make more power ?just got a afe stage 2 for my 22 5.7
Yes just requires more maintenance
Nice what ur next mod?
The question is do i need a tune for the CAI !?
No tune needed
Is there any way I can take my 2019 charger rt out of 4 cylinder mode?
Leave it in sport mode
step on the gas
Look up MDS delete kit
Is that the magnum force stage 2
mr . average thats a good question man.
Do you still recommend this for a charger rt bro ?
I bought a gt momentum for 500 wasn’t worth it I gained 6whp I returned it for a K&n typhoon aluminum I gained 17whp it was only 390$
@@brandonUwanawich954 The GT Momentum is 100% better than the Typhoon wtf are you talking about? Aluminum Intakes also have higher Temps. If you wanted to save money cool but the Typhoon isn't better.
Does the install void the warranty?
no
it that THANoS
Any issues since the install??
I had no issues with it while owning the car.
19.1 MPG???? Dude I’m getting 11 mpg in my 392
Z 100 I put cruise control on my RT and get 21 average after 17k miles. The 4 cylinder mode works like magic.
EdgyTheHedgehog I had a RT also and I used to get 22 mpg on highway but average like 16
Z 100 on my drive from Dallas to Houston, my average would be 28, are you putting cruise control on? That’s the only way it stays in 4 cylinder mode :/
Z 100 I get 16mpg but that's better then my 5.0
EdgyTheHedgehog no in the rt it stats in 4 cylinder mode when ur cruising or on cruise control. soon as u hit the gas it switches i love it
Do you wish you had a scat pack yet?
NY Sledge 2019 RT PLUS IS PLENTY OF FUN!!
To give you an idea on how unnecessary this filter is for the stock 345 hemi, unless you tune the pcp and engine, a hellcat filter for the stock air box is overkill
Any cold air intake recommendations for a 2019 charger scatpack???
Or my new 2020 coming in a few months:)
DoYouHemi Ronn13 how much is it gon cost, I was gon get a 2019 but now I might just wait lol
Yaboy Rj, Yeah leave the shit stock. Cheers mate 🍺🍺
Yaboy Rj factory hellcat airbox and snorkel is the best bang for the buck
Do the JLT Series 2 CAI, it’s one of the better ones for our cars. I got it and no complaints.
You 1000000% did not gain 17 HP and TQ.
No tune ??
Man, all these RT's I see on CZcams and no one has the Daytona package. WHHYYYYY????? For an extra $3K it's a steal of an option and it comes with the Mopar CAI and a BUNCH of other goodies. Can't wait for my 2021 RT Daytona arrives at my dealership up here in Canada!
Because for an extra 4k, you can grab a scat.
You should do the 2019 grille
which exhaust brand u have ?
Tony MTA muffler delete
Do Those performance pages come with a stock rt??
limited450 ?? Yes as long as it has the super track pack and all 2019+ rts have them standard
@@The02CumminsRAM 👍🏾
Did u get a check engine light after ?
nope
I installed an AFE CAI just yesterday and at first I had no check engine light but after driving it around a couple of times the light came on. Do you or anyone know why ?
Will it fit a 2021 ?
yep
I like u truck bro
What kind of cell phone dock is that ?
Proclip
A Dodge Neon ?
😨
Nice👍✌️🇨🇦
A Scatpack?
its an rt
Yaboy Rj these days all of the new chargers look like scats.
haha you must make youtube videos just to pay for new wheels
Shouldn’t a stock RT Charger be around 370hp? You were showing like 315hp....
370 crank, 315 wheel hp
He was only doing a quick pull so you’re not going to see 370 you’d have to hold it at full throttle to see all the horses. Does anyone do homework anymore
@@justin77782 I dont think so lmao
TheTOMMINATOR dude you can lmao all you want bro but if you’ve ever seen how a dino works they run them at full throttle pulls to get the average hp specs so next time you lmao read a book or something first lol
aaq if you think that’s true bud then how do you explain 395 foot pds of torque? I would love to see the conclusion of that answer
😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
A lot of plastic. Would of gone mopar
AFE is one of the best brands on the market.
