Of the four boys, George was by far the youngest (only 10 when he was named). Since today was a "only one page required" day, they naturally selected one of the older, stronger boys - those robes are HEAVY. That's why Rose's son is there + not George. (I'm sure George's parents are eager to protect him from media scrutiny at this time, with his Mum so sick, as well.)
