This channel reminds me (especially on days when Logic frustrates me) how much more powerful the songwriting tools in Logic are over Pro Tools. Used PT for 20 years, one year on Logic and already way more productive with song creation and arrangement --Jason ✌🏻&❤️

Yeah, you're totally right. I once started off with Pro Tools (because it was the "industry standard"). Thankfully, I switched to Logic within one or two years. It was the biggest breakthrough in the sonic quality of my music productions and a much easier / intuitive workflow. The price of Logic Pro is ridiculously low, compared to what you actually get. (Well, you're stuck on the Mac platform for life, but that's not a problem.)

@@heartshinemusic I agree! As for being stuck with a Mac I finnaly am OK with that because I get Logic updates and upgrades and some new plugins FREE now. I bought Logic Pro X when it was 199$, back in 2013 I think and I have never spent a dime on the program since. I have bought new Macs but frankly, if you are a PRO and use it to make a living, it is a pretty good deal. I have bought 2 Mac minis since 2012... That is a pretty good average.

It’s amazing how much of this is in standard Garage Band. I was an avid Cubase user until my computer died and I was forced to find an alternative. Messing around with my iPad, I found Garage band. To my surprise , it turned out to be extremely versatile for quick ideas. Then I went deeper into its functions and really loved using Garage band, but it has its limitations. Then I discovered Logic and saw how it utilized the great functionality of Garage band but with limitless other options, like third party sounds, etc. And with your help, I’m discovering what a beast Logic truly is! Thank you so much for helping me personally, to navigate this powerful tool!!

  • @SincerelyYoursWill

Wow Chris - that tip of using the group feature to enable Track Alternative was ingenious!! I've used live loops before and found that it just overwhelmed my project if I wasn't mindful. So, I've put it on the backburner in regards of tools. Additionally, I've never saw the practicality of track alternative until seeing this video. I would add one tweak to your elegant tip - and that would be save this as a new alternative project. So I can keep my settings, but start anew w the remixed version of my track. Anyways, I've appreciated your vids for some time. And wanted to share with you how awesome your channel is!

Here’s a question for you: Is there a way to open/close all the plugins for a selected channel strip (preferably the way you sized and positioned them) instead of just all of them across the board (“V”) ? This would greatly speed up mixing!!!
