    Love all your tips James.
    I have built and raced on and off for over 50 years and really appreciate how you disseminate your knowledge and passion to all racers old and new.

    Brilliant video and excellent advice. I know a lot of racers will say this level of preparation is not necessary, but I challenge them to race you!

    Thanks James - such a good example of ‘attention to detail’.

    Great Info! Now I need to apply this to all my cars, and future builds! I've got some work to do. Lol.

      Using a well moulded guide to start with reduces the preparation time.

      Hi Ron. There will be a video on preparing and setting up braid in the near future. The next video is about lead wires 🤫 .

    Glad to see I already do most of this after learning from people like yourself over the years to improve my build standards. One question, where or who produces the guide spacing tool with the diamond coating? Thanks

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching. The “Intro noise” is made from recording different motors being revved up. I have reduced the volume a little. I will be updating my intro soon, so thanks for the feedback 👍🏻

    Do you ever boil your guides in water first to relieve any casting stresses that may have occurred during the molding process?

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před 3 lety

      I have heard about people boiling their guides but haven’t felt the need to do it myself. I used Cahoza guides for many years before switching to HP and the occasional Red Fox guide to benefit from the longer guide.

    • @27Fan4Ever
      @27Fan4Ever Před 3 lety +1

      We used to boil and dye guides back in the days of the Jet Flag, but haven’t heard of any of the current generation of guides needing it.

  • @glueside

    Where did you get the tool at the end?

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před 3 lety

      I got it from a friend who had a couple specially made. You could make your own from an old guide tongue and a bit of wet and dry paper.
