Here's my take on DICE's lyrics: I know the "dice" have already been thrown (as in her lyrics), but I choose to look at it as stop being indecisive, sitting in a dark room playing with dolls (TV, phone, toys, games, etc.). "Seize the moment", roll the dice, open your eyes, and walk into the light! Miku's lyrics, especially after translation, can be a bit cryptic - open for interpretation, as are all poems and lyrics. But their music is always right on point which melds the two into wonderful songs of possibilities! Thx, Maddy!
"Dice" is the one that convinced me this band is something really special. Misa is driving a Peterbilt, from the sound of it.

Different is a little different because it’s a song written as the opening theme song for an Anime. So the lyrics, plus the crazy high-energy throughout, are purposeful to serve that end.
Dice (MV) is the second song I heard from them (Thrill MV was first), and I knew I was witnessing a special collection of musicians at that point. Different was the third song (the MV) and I was hooked at that point!
Maybe slow it down for the next one? I recommend,

If you want their song about "Rebirth" check out 'Rinne' It means reincarnation. It was inspired by a Japanese horror movie of the same name that used a lot of 8mm film in it, so the video was also shot on 8mm film. It's super thrashy!

Could see from your reaction and what you said afterwards that the lyrics made an impression. Miku - rhythm guitar, founder of the band, unfeasibly beautiful woman - is also the main lyricist and her words are always deeper and more meaningful than most. She references Japanese philosophies and religions (Shintoism, Taoism, Bushido, Buddhism) as well as aesthetic and artistic subjects like Sumi-e ink painting (which is why they are all dressed in black and white with the smallest splashes of colour, as per the artistic rules of the medium) or Wabi Sabi (seeing the beauty in imperfection and the ephemeral nature of things). I've been going to live Rock and Metal gigs since 1975 and, now aged 62, I can honestly say that Band-Maid are the best live Hard Rock band I've ever seen (sorry, Zeppelin, but 79 was a long time ago!). There is a song by Babymetal (another jewel in the musical treasure chest that is Japanese female and female-led Rock and Metal of the 21st century) called 'No Rain, No Rainbow' which shares the same imagery of 'Dice' in its acceptance of Life's pains and recognition of the joys. Subscribed coz you clearly get Band-Maid and appreciate their musical, songwriting and performance skills.

One of the interesting things with BAND-MAID songs is that the Music and the Lyrics go well together but can also stand alone by themselves. So there are really two messages (musical and lyrical) combined into one performance.

@MaddyReactions I live in Virginia Beach, VA, but saw them in Silver Spring, MD at The Fillmore last October, and then again this May at The Underground in Charlotte, NC. Over 500 miles round-trip in both instances but well worth it!

A lot of people see them as a gimmick band. But, the whole maid outfit thing was actually Miku's (guitar/vocals) idea. She used to work in a maid cafe in Japan. (Think a more respectable, polite Hooters.) They are all super talented and like most Japanese people, perfectionists.
I love it! So cute!
Due to C19 restrictions, the only shows they could put on were online only in Japan, so that's what they did. I love DICE because the verses are very intricate and the guitars are pretty deep, but at it's heart, the chorus and the bridge, it's just a super catchy and fun pop-punk gem. That and Kanami's guitar solo is so much fun. I hope you check out Play live soon. It's one of their most fun crowd songs and for them you know that's saying something.

The Maids certainly know how to get you moving in the morning! Different is a great work out song. Many of their songs are actually deep I think. It's great when you can read the lyrics.
