Thank you so much for this video. My 8 yrs old son had an Svt episode since yesterday. I tried mVM and it worked like magic. He is now fine within 10 minutes. Thank you again.

I was just at the store and went into svt, drove myself home, I know not smart, and converted myself after using this. I had bookmarked the video and first try I converted. Previously I have taken hours at 180-200 to finally convert, thank you

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've had to deal with SVT since I was a kid and now in later life it happens more frequently. I am usually able to resolve it through breathing exercises (Wim Hof) but not always as was the case today and was starting to think that a trip to ER was inevitable until I watched your video in a hail Mary attempt to resolve this 6 hr episode. Didn't have a syringe but had a cardboard center of a toilet paper roll, plugged up one end , blew in to it and then kicked up my feet on to the sofa and it worked first time Once again, thank you, This maneuver is amazing, a game changer and what is most amazing is that most MD's, ie cardiologists, don't know anything about this.

Thank you for this video. I just had tachycardia for well over three hours. Nine of my vagal manoeuvres worked. I tried this as best I could by myself and I have normal rhythm again.

  • @alejandrabandalaruiz1113

You saved my life! I was having an SVT episode at 1 am. I tried everything but this worked like magic.

It happend to me last week. The mVM worked, the medics in the ambulance did it, although i had to blow as long as I could (felt like over a minute). Ecg was running, was weird to see the before and after signals.
Thanks for the video. I did not understand all (I am Dutch) the medical English.

I've been diagnosed with Irregularly irregular rhythm and A-fib on a permanent bases for about 15 years. (74 years old now) I was hospitalized twice for SVT and once for VT. from 15 to 5 years ago, I had very rapid tachycardia come upon me probably 10 times in the about 6 years prior to being prescribed metoprolol. (the VT was as recent as one year ago, and several years after being able to stop the metoprolol). During my episodesI would have to stay on the floor to avoid passing out until it relented on its own. Sometimes, if I lay low and still as best I could, the episode would last more or less one hour. Once or twice it continued for 3 hours or better. When I finally had almost acquired health insurance (ACA) I had an episode that lasted three days and nights, I risked financial ruin and went to the emergency room, where I was defibrillated. That's background. My comment here, is that after seeing over 5 different cardiologists each for at least a couple of years, I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THE VALSALVA MANEUVER, modified or otherwise. I stumbled upon this video, after years of looking at AF videos on CZcams just this evening. I am livid, absolutely floored by the fact that this has never been explained to me. (I spent as many as 5 or 6 years in fear that SVT would strike me unawares) I had a cardiologist or two when I lived in Asia. Same thing, it was never mentioned or demonstrated to me. In general, doctors in Asia are much more forthcoming about what's going on in one's body than the American doctors I now see. The only thing ever mentioned to me was from a GP, back in the beginning when I was only experiencing dizziness. He was a Vietnamese American doctor who told me to "bear down." Even then I had no idea what he was talking about and he had to explain it to me. (And too, it never worked for me). And no doctor ever discussed stimulation of the vagus nerve. However successful vagus stimulation might have been, I had to discover for myself something that it probably is. That was through serious retching, vomiting, throwing up, not forced retching, mind you. But a better job of resetting my heart rhythm I have never discovered. It's instant relief. One has to be lucky, I guess, that one's body is intelligent enough to initiate the retching.

Just yesterday the doctors in the er performed the modified Varsalva maneuver on me and saved me, I have been dealing with STV for decades, was hospitalized many times and never was diagnosed until last night. I am so grateful they took care of me. Now I need to see a cardiologist to figure out what else I need to do. Thank you for this video 🙏

Thank you for this. I just did this 15 minutes ago and it worked. I didn't have a syringe, but I blew into a closed fist for 15 seconds and then put my legs up and it was immediately gone. This is the quickest it's ever went back to normal. Thank you again

Reminds me of a comment I heard once......I asked him what time it was and he told me how to make a watch.
Here it in a nutshell: Sit on the floor next to a chair and blow pretty hard into a disassembled ball point pen for 15 seconds - then fairly quickly lift your legs up onto the chair (about 45 degrees) and recline to a flat on the floor position.

MVM stops my SVT incidents almost every time. A few attempts are sometimes required. I think how strenuous I blow into the syringe is important. Building up more pressure in my chest before raising my legs works more often. So glad I found the original Lancet video on the REVERT study about a year after I first had an SVT incident. Standard disclaimer. I’m not a doctor so don’t take medical advice from me.

Just a small question. What would doing the Modified Valsalva do to a normal person who is doing it to demonstrate to the person in tachychardia. Would it cause any side-effects..

I didn't have a syringe, but I blew into a closed fist for 15 seconds and then put my legs up and it was immediately gone. Adenosine does suck, had to have it 4 times in the ER. HB was over 300 and then they gave me this. Felt like I was slammed in the chest with a sledge hammer, brought my HB down to 63
