I honestly expected to see Yukina from Hanabie or Emily Arima defending the J-metal flag before Babymetal, since they represent a more "metal" image for the Western eye. In any case, the recognition of the pioneers is appreciated.👏👏👏

Wow, there is so much variety that no two bands sound the same.
You can also add Within Temptation, Delain, Beyond The Black, Butcher Babies, AD Infinitum, Nemophelia, Lacuna Coil, Dead Pony, The Warning!
I can only presume that the reason Lovebites aren't in this list is because they're all-female, and not just female-fronted, Not sure why Frozen Crown aren't here, though. Or Unleash the Archers. I guess Nightwish were too obvious.
