    Great presentation. I bought the white dial 39mm and am happy with it.

    Picked up the 39mm panda version a few weeks back. Preferred it over the more silvery dial of the 41mm, plus outside of the worse lume it just looked like a more put together watch, imo. The 39mm uses 20mm lugs so strap changes are easy...the 41mm uses 21mm so....yeah. Also worth noting that depending on the model, many go by a different reference on the JDM side, and can be had for much cheaper if you go for those versions (only thing you lose is the international warranty for a Japan-only warranty).

    Great review. I have two Seiko Prospex Speedtimer, one in 41mm Pepsi blue, and one in 39mm, Panda (white dial). Both of them are great, but I prefer the 39 mm. For the price they are great watches, comfortable, and the quality is excellent.

    I like the 39mm. I think it definitely punches above it's weight in price whilst maintaining a more subtle look.

    Those are awesome. I wish the 39 came in the red dial. Thanks for showing them to us. But amongst these three I would go with the 41 in red. Thanks!

    I’ve been comparing these two for weeks now. I can’t decide what would be best for my 6.75 inch wrist! I love the lume and design of the 41, but i also love the size of the 39..help!

    • @MeestroDavid
      @MeestroDavid Před 7 měsíci +2

      I tried both on MANY times and while my preference is typically toward smaller watches (we have the same size wrist), the choice was made for me when I got the 41 as a gift and it wears beautifully. The 39 does look more compact but since the 41 has the same lug-to-lug, it fits the wrist identically just with a little more presence. So the good news is that it's really about which design you prefer. If you're leaning 41, go for it--it'll fit just right.

      I have a 6.75 wrist and own a 41. It fits great. I love it, so just go for the one you like the look of the most.

      The 39mm is a fantastic size and hides the date window a lot better. The bezel also looks better on the 39mm version and has 20mm lug widths. I love my SSC815, but choose whichever design you prefer!

      @@MeestroDavidi have to agree with David. I had the 39 light blue european limited edition. I have a 6,5 inch wrist. And believe it or not: the 39 looked to small on my already small wrist. I sold it for the 41 mm red version. Very happy with my new daily watch ❤

    Nice watches, I prefer the bezel on the 39mm but I prefer the larger size of the 41. Why did they change the bezel? I also like the new blacked out version that was announced recently.

      @@bogarbill6331 “terribly overreaction” …..uh….terribly syntax/grammar soooo…..I am a pilot. 24 hour sub dials are “decorative” in look and function. Only if you live underground as a spelunker or in outer space as a walker do the 24 hr. sub dials even pretend to be there as a tool. A 12 hour totalizer is EXTREMELY useful as in keep you alive Sir. Take a Cessna 172, a basic trainer with almost 5 hours of usable fuel. Gets busy in the cockpit. But you were a good boy and started your REAL chronograph just before hollering “Clear prop” and starting your motor . Now, after 4 hours have elapsed it is time to be doing your pre-landing check list. A Seiko VK-67 ships with a 12 hour totalizer, NOT that stupidity known as a 24 hour dial slaved to the main gauges. I own a very well built and spected chronograph built by Baltany. $169.00 USD TT&L, delivered from Amazon. I love it! Supremely accurate!

    Question: My watch is quartz battery and gains 5.5 seconds per month. How does this accuracy stack up agents other watches, let's say up to the $500 US range?

    • @shugertits
      @shugertits Před 7 měsíci +1

      That is pretty accurate. Most automatic watches that I've owned lose a few seconds a day. It's not uncommon to lose/gain 30 seconds a day.
      I, personally, like quartz watches. Especially from an era where they weren't so cheaply made. I have a seiko 7a from 1983 that has gained only a second since we reset from daylight savings.
      A mechanical watch as accurate as yours would be pretty high-end.
      Does that answer your question?

    • @ethimself5064
      @ethimself5064 Před 7 měsíci

      @@shugertits 🤣 Not quite. Mine is a Timex dual quartz, analog and digital, 2 time zones etc etc: all stainless. Bought it about 18 years ago. But I get your points. A week ago or so I saw a watch that was certified to be accurate within 1 second a year - blew my mind and I just moved on. I have wondered why quartz watches are not calibrated per month etc and digitally corrected for daily if need be. Thanks for getting back

    • @seanhickling7340
      @seanhickling7340 Před 7 měsíci

      No more useless than the date or lume.

    • @MeestroDavid
      @MeestroDavid Před 7 měsíci +2

      Totally useless, but Citizen puts it on their solar chronos as well, which leads me to believe both of their movements needed more real-estate for the solar cells and that was the simplest complication to implement. Just a guess, but both companies ended up with the same solution that nobody asked for so that's my theory...

    • @dustinr16
      @dustinr16 Před 7 měsíci

      )Could have done an hour counter (6, 12 or 24 hours in the sub dial or even cooler would have been to make the 24 hour independent to function like a second time zone GMT. Whatever function the dial uses it could still be a solar cell. It’s just disappointing they didn’t make a movement that was more useful. The only useful function of the 24 hour sub dial is you know whether it’s AM or PM.
