i like this doco of sri lanka cos its bit away from the beaten track of things most other travel enthusiasts do. i saw things i didint know existed, and i was raised in sri lanka too. very well done, very original
We still miss you kiran and we love you so much buddy i think it it's the best experience had in your ife stay safe God bless you 💖👊💖👊🇱🇰🇱🇰👊🇱🇰👊🤘🤘👊👊😃😃👊👊🤘💖
I enjoyed this video although we had different experiences while riding a hired tuk-tuk for 3 weeks around Sri Lanka. Even though the variety of ingredients available here is vast, food options are very narrow usually limited to Sri Lanka's famous curry which in 90% wasn't that nice and rather plain taste in comparison to other countries around. We were very disappointed although managed to eat good curry three times, twice with local people and a restaurant in Negambo. Also, we were very excited about fresh fruits available almost every corner but in many places, in particular remote villages, people looked at as with a big question mark on their face when we asked for fresh juice. The only options was ubiquitous Coke and some local bottled drinks instead even though you could see mango, pineapple and coconuts growing behind. I would love to hear from someone whether this is caused by western marketing and/or locals being tired of fresh healthy juice being replaced with bad stuff that can lead to obesity and consequent health problems?
as you have stated last most of the ppl in here have brain but they never used it. i am from a very rural village of sri lanka you will never get a change to visit their and most of the ppl just take things on the tv commercials . that is why you have seen the coke a lot in rural areas. and they get health problem cus of these chemicals. and the medicine for those problems also imported from where those foods are made. that is a sad thing. in other hand families like mine never eaten those artificial things . we get all the things fresh. so we eat a lot but never get health problems. also my family take lot of herbs for curries and sometimes eat them row. in my kitchen there are over 200 different spices and herbs from local and overseas. For ex: curry leave paste - this is like a chutney and top 1 medicine for lowering blood HDL level. so twice a week we make it. so buddy don't misunderstand the country . it's just ppl's habit and cultural issues (actually not a issue they not take lessons from the old gold culture) it's nice you visited SL and yes come again
@kojitha mandanayake These are my experiences after my time spent riding tuk-tuk around Sri Lanka and quite frankly am entitled to expressing them online. I have spent years travelling including 9 months motorbike trip around SE Asia once and have tried both expensive places and poor food stalls in villages where many westerners wouldn't dare to eat. I'm not afraid of experiencing good and bad things hence usually throw myself into deep waters of unknown hence choosing independent way of travel so we don't end up seeing only what tourists suppose to see. This is giving me a better picture about what a country and culture is like than sitting through my holiday in a luxury hotel being treated well because have money and am paying for it. We've been to very poor countries such as Myanmar (Burma) or Cambodia and experienced better food than in more developed Sri Lanka where we ate at a couple of expensive hotels as we decided to treat ourselves.
Srilankans are best and humble people love from Bangladesh. The chef is so humble love him

Anura is my man!
Chef Kieran is the closest and sebaya as me so that,I can talk to...
so chef Kieran, let's bump some tyres!
.This is super adventurous; thanks for the theatrics and adrenaline. However, no SL shrimp curry without curry leaves, tumeric, or muringa leaves!
Great show, but I prefer my meat on styrofoam wrapped in Saran-Wrap, & delivered by Aldi. I'm wussy that way, but I am impressed.
great job thank you
That curry....,😋😋😋
By the way that fruit is grown at my mums place in Kenya Narok they call it papaya.... coz its strange and they have no name for it..
