I did something like that but my character was like Cruella (2021) with Emma Stone but he was focused on create designs to mage fights and transform a magic fight in a fashion show. He always was with victorian inspired clothes, walking cane tha was his weapon and faithful mascot Belligor the Dragon Snail.
Also when I created the character I picked warlock with hexblade because every time I was doing any piece I used the hexblade to enchant my scizor or needles XD. Cursed fashion pieces every time but they're were perfect.
      Prismari for life!

I love the idea of a Lorehold Hexblade or Genie Warlock that uses their sentient patron weapon/artifact as part of their lesson plan, or having their Genie patron offer history lessons from certain time periods while using their vessel to show off interesting artifacts to their students, a Clockwork Soul Sorcerer that teaches balance and the true relation between science and magic for Quandrix, or another Lorehold character being a Thief Rogue who is devoted to unlocking the secrets of magical artifacts, refusing to let their innate lack of proper magical talents get in their way.

Now that I’ve watched the whole video…that was awesome! I’m building a Fathomless Warlock 2 / Lore Bard X for strixhaven named Kalliope. Race Hexblood, with the Theros Nyxborn supernatural gift.
Her patron will be Thassa (goddess of the sea and ancient knowledge) from Theros. She’s a siren/mermaid who wants to discover all the mysteries of the deep. She will use a bident like Thassa’s as a tuning fork for when she sings. She has a map like the Mao Kun map (from pirates of the Caribbean) which she’s joining lorehold in order to learn to read it. The map is especially perfect as it is of Theros, and Theros is known to have its mythic and relic locations move a lot due to the malleability of the plane. Very excited for this character.
My inspirations were Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Pirates of the Caribbean and the little mermaid. So a buncha Disney movies lol

Havent watched yet, but Order Domain Cleric, Silverquil (make sure to pick Silverquill Student background!!!)
For those unfamiliar with Order Domain, when they target an ally with a spell (heal, buff, etc) you can ask your ally to melee attack a specific enemy of your choice by using your allies reaction (they choose if they will). You also serve the gods of law and order.
Now for a flavor break, Silverquill's majors includes Law. So an Order Domain cleric could be a law student applying Silverquill's teachings to being a Judge or perhaps a Lawyer.
Back to mechanics, Silverquill gives their student access to the spell Silvery Barbs which lets ya possibly turn an enemies hit into a miss using your reaction, and giving your ally advantage at the same time for their next attack.
So when an Order Domain cleric casts Silvery Barbs, they can waste an enemies turn potentially and give their ally a chance to attack with advantage. And this is all live at level 1, and super flavorful for Silverquill's quick wit lawyery word play theme.
Just worship a God of Law that looks like a Phoenix, and you will be on your way to being a magical ace attorney. The rogue will thank you

And for the character I am playing, fiend patron warlock (my race being tiefling) to tie both my characters ancestry with their studies ("Dark One's blessing" absorbs life after death reflecting the nature of Witherbloom). Background will be witherbloom student to give me some druidcraft and healing. Later taking pact of the chain (and the following level swap invocations for investment of the chainmaster along with Strixhaven Mascot).
With Peanut Butter the pest as my ally, I will eldritch blast and heal the party with social skills on the side in case we gotta pull a fast one on the teacher.

I love that with Strix Haven you can tie in other modules very easily and just adjust the levels of challenges and characters from the modules as you go or just make level ups painfully slow milestones and adjust accordingly.
Need an adventure for Spring Break? Screw the beach. It's too crowded with frat parties! Let's go to a cool ass carnival: Enter the "Wild Beyond the Witchlight" module.
Field trip or field research gone wrong? Shitty ass nightmare brought on by the stress of finals that strangely you and all your friends are collectivley sharing that was the result of some dumbass's final project either gone horribly wrong or horribly right if your party is the unsuspecting guinea pigs of? Insert almost any module ever.

@@TheClericCorner Thank you so much! The Houndoom's name is Felix, he is a super sweet boi who is the big brother of the party and will gladly share his favorite pink ball with a Sunflora pattern on it to make new friends!
On the DND note, yes! It can just be a setting for quests too, you don't need an entire Strixhaven party for it to be relevant. In a higher level campaign a student could be out adventuring as part of their Masters or Doctoral degree.
The school could also just be a source of quests.
Or you can use it for places where backstory relevant NPCs are. Like my Tabaxi/Cartographer/Drakewarden RangerJewel of the Forest, has an older bother Cedar Ink, a Blade Singer that is an archeologist studying at Strixhaven. 20 GP if you can guess the college XD. On occasion he sends her some letters and an object enclosed basically going, "Hey baby sis, here's a cool ass thing I found in the archives. Can't do field research because midterms are trying to kill me. Can you and your friends help out?"
Strixhaven is such a cool utility for any DM to have even if they don't want to run a Magic Academy campaign.

Since you mentioned Artificer being left out (something I also found really, REALLY strange!), I had ideas for both of the other two Artificer subclasses you didn't mention.
A Prismari Artillerist who uses their ballista to be the pyrotechnics and fireworks for the school shows. I'm imagining the type of person who is always covered in head to toe with soot and ash, wild hair (or feathers...) that's been signed in a few places. They'd be a great Spectacle Mage.
This one might be a bit of a cop out because any Artificer could fit, but when I think of the Armorer, I immediately think of Iron Man, and what better place to put him than the Quandrix College? I mean, what better blending of nature and magic is there than a magic suit that you bond with?

Echo Knight fighter and Swarm Keeper ranger can both be flavored to any of the 5 colleges. Just reskin the echoes and swarms as the mascot of whichever college you join.
If your DM is cool beastmaster ranger is also an option for all colleges. Just take your school's mascot as you animal companion.
And if you want to add spell casting to a non caster so that your magic school student has more spells than just the ones from the background feat there is one clear option. A 2 level dip in war wizard adds a fantastic amount of utility and defense to any non caster class in the game.

    My two cents...
Lorehold // Scribes -- your book's spirit is a spirit of an ancient sage; Conjuration -- most useful for exploring; Battlesmith Artificer - your magical robot is embued with the spirt of a an ancient Generla's war dog.
Silvequill // Shadow Sorcerer & Celestial Sorcer, cause MGT has them with White and Black colors (you can also reflavor your Shadow Hound as an inky beast); Aberrant Mind Sorcerer; Glambour Bard; and Goolock with Pact of the Chain for that Inkling (or an Imp or something reflavored); Arcane Trickster.
Quandrix // Totes agree with Stars Druid. I would also say Armorer or Artillertist Artificer, for that Tony Stark feel.
Witherbloom // I also totally agree with the Undead Warlock. I also like the Fathomless Warlock to be like a Swamp Monster. I could also see a Spirit Bard too.

My absurd idea for a strixhaven character is a Barbarian tiefling. You might be saying we'll how does a Barbarian cast magic? He'll be the path of wild magic Barbarian.
Personality - His name is Joy Redaura or joy for short. His personality is that of a constantly happy go lucky kind of guy who revels in discovering new things and always has a smile on his face. However when the darker feelings of rage and hatred build up and up until eventually they explode out in a burst of rage and magic. He soon finds a love for music and performing even becoming a pretty popular attraction to see in his home town.
Backstory. - His backstory is that he's from a family of famous warlocks and no matter how hard he tried he just could not do magic. Mentally exhausted and defeated he gets an offer from the families bodyguard to train him in the way of the sword. He had trained for a couple of years when during one particularly intense bout with his Instructor, his younger brother cast a low level spell that made Joy trip up and fall flat on his face. Enraged Joy felt himself getting angrier and angrier as he begins his first rage. As soon as he rages magic pours out of his as a white beam of light shoots from his chest, reducing anything to rubble. After it was over Joy was horrified at the damage he had caused and vowed to control his new power. He decied to enroll in Strixhaven not only to protect over but to get the last laugh over his family after he defeats them in a spell contest.
Appearance. - Joy stands at roughly 6'5. Rather tall for a tiefling but he had quite the skinny body too however when he raged his muscles would get a lot bigger and more defined. His shin is a pale blue (green when raging from an aura of wild magic) with his eyes a burning deep red. His horns are black large and jagged pointing up to the sky. He has long purple hair that stops at his lower back, often getting confused with a women. He would play into this from time to time just to have a laugh and a joke.
Stats - in all seriousness I would take strength and charisma as my main two stats. Honestly the rest are left up to personal choice as I would personally homebrew someway to work in fey magic in there from the sorcerer and that's a CHA caster so go nuts.
(This took about 15 minutes ish to come up with and I chose the WORST class for this setting so really it doesn't matter what you play as long as it kinda makes sense and you like it. Hope you enjoyed and liked the idea for anyone reading this.
    - a humble DM

1:02 - Thank goodness, because WOTC didn't bother to do anything to help. The new Owlin are humans that can fly and are stealthy (Rogue Arocokra?), and no built in rules. The backgrounds are used to give players more magic, but nothing interesting enough to set them apart. The Unearthed Arcana had exciting ideas they never used - I will likely house rule them back into the game. They say the uniforms are color coded, but don't list the color pairs (they do show them in the art though).
