There is no solution to this flood and the water stagnation as the entire chennai is almost equal to the sea level, and so all the water ways takes more time to settle in the seashores. Also chennai is over populated and over crowded and depopulating the entire city or at east the flood prone area is the only solution via moving industries, companies, factories and housing sector to the next regions in the next district that does not get affected by flood
. Did any one of these people get permission or ask about the cons to lay out houses and buildings from any government official before buying property in this area, which was a small lake till 1992. The entire velachery area was part of a swamp land with a small lake, there was a stone quarry located few meters from the current TCS building before 1992. These people did not care about the current geological location of certain areas in chennai as most areas are prone to stangnant water for weeks after a heavy rain fall. This is the fifth time since 1982 chennai flood and people in chennai are still dumb fold to not realize that sevaral parts of velechary is pron to flooding and rain water stagnation as before the housing development it is location where rain water gets collected due to its marshy lake terrain. Depopulating chennai is the only solution as rain water will not follow human made canals, drains and ditches as water ways will always follow its own path and will either flood the streets/roads or flood the housing area.
