Anyone gonna talk about how epic this opening music is?

Epic opening music, and epic first episode. Unfortunately I thought overall it was not a very memorable season, though I enjoyed it more after re-watching it. I was happy that Chris won.

Fun fact: Julie Berry, one of the castaways, dated Jeff Probst for 3 years before breaking up in 2008. They still remain friends, however.

      Э-э-ой, лёли-лёли, ляли, лёли-лёли.
Да разыграю в хоровод да я у милого ворот.
      E-e-oy, loli-loli, lyali, loli-loli.
Da razygrayu v khorovod da ya u milogo vorot.
      These are the actual lyrics.

@@PrincessPeached The "E-e-oy, loli-loli, lyali, loli-loli" is basically just a nonsense vocalization (like "La la la"), while "Da razygrayu v khorovod da ya u milogo vorot" roughly translates to "Yes, I will play in a Khorovod, yes, I will, at the gate of my dear beloved." According to the Reddit thread where I got this info, a Khorovod is a Slavic art form that combines circle dancing and chorus singing.
The lyrics are taken from a Russian folk song, while the actual vocals heard in the Survivor theme were sampled from a previous track (Kurski Funk) that Russ Landau worked on while he was a member of the Paul Winter Consort. Russ apparently did not have permission to sample the vocals, prompting Paul to sue him (according to the lawsuit, Paul only gave Russ permission to use recordings that didn't make it onto the album for the Survivor theme). The lawsuit was eventually settled, but that's why the theme for Survivor: Africa doesn't feature the original Russian vocals and instead has a choir of African tribeswomen singing the song in their language (a creative way of working around the obstacle of not being allowed to use the original vocals).
