Very musical and nuanced performance. This pianist understands how to create a soundscape. One of the best performances of this sonata ive ever heard.

I’m sure this is a wonderful performance. Ironically, Rubinstein himself (to my knowledge) ever played this work. He probably had met Prokofiev at least once. Maybe not. (Rubinstein spoke Russian).
But he did not particularly care for this Russian composer’s music.

PLEASE ,, PLEASE ,, PLEASE ,,, For heaven's sake, "CZcams", you may break any subject to put an Ad, but NOT in the middle of a classical work of music, these works are composed and designed to be a continuous and connected work, any break through will completely destroy and damage the WHOLE work, you can never get yourself in the mood again to proceed listening,, What you are doing is a work of SABOTAGE and Vandalism,,, You should be more civilized than that...

Nothing mre can be said about this as far as it is an aspect of complete chaos. It particularly sounds like a child playing notes randomly on the piano in an admitted rhythmic style. But since there is a complete abence of anything acoustical in music it is an embarrasing smear. Only the ending has any merit whatsoever.

Are you talking about the piece or his playing? The piece is nicknamed 'Tank Attack'. Perhaps do a bit of research on it and you'll know why it sounds like 'complete chaos'.

This is one of the most difficult pieces in all of the piano repertoire. The fact that he made it through with no major mistakes is a miracle in itself. Even the great Glenn Gould struggled with it and fudged the ending badly. It's here on youtube if you want to see a really poor interpretation of this piece.
