TOP 15 MONSTERS || Eschdorf HillClimb 2024

- Eschdorf HillClimb, in Luxembourg, finally came back after a 4 year hiatus, and in full force, featuring a great entrylist with Monsters coming from the French, Berg-Cup, Swiss and Belgian scenes, with plenty of high-revving NA screamers alongside some very special Turbocharged Monsters and a number of GT beasts. Marked also the return of Thomas Kessler and his spectacular Lancer Evo VIII, now with even more Aero and finding the correct setup to tacke the ultra competitive Swiss Championship. This is how they ended up:

How does this even work? Are people custom casting heads or blocks to suit?
@@swisscourthustle - Judging by the description, the blocks and the heads are original, they just found a way to make them work together.
@@swisscourthustle There´s plenty of bespoke machining here, depending on the block+head combo. But the Berg-Cup guys are no strangers to custom heads, custom blocks or even custom crankshafts...

Fwd are very under rated.... I am going to build a 300hp N/A '88 Toyota Celica. St162... I had one many years ago with 200hp N/A.... It was fantastic stripped the interior it was under 1000kg 👍
@@nigelsmith7366 They're not underrated, people know exactly what they're capable of which is why most people do rwd or awd xD.. Setting up a fwd car like the VW so it doesn't understeer into narnia under throttle and has the right lsd setup, brake balance, just everything is very technical and hard to do compared to the rwd or awd cars. GL with the 300hp NA. Disgustingly expensive and it doesn't hold up long.
The Berg-Cup units are built to an insane level. You may be seeing a 300Hp FWD unit there, but you´re also watching something equipped with top-of-the-line material amounting sometimes to over 200k...

It might honestly just be a bit too big and heavy to properly dance on roads this twisty. Clearly fast, but I think it brute-forced its way to the win here. Erwin Buck's Speiss Scirocco looked far more at home due to how tiny and agile it is, and likely would've won if it had a more than 2000cc and FWD to work with.
