    I am watching this because one of my friends has Psychosis. Today they had an episode in class. The teacher was very rude about it and wouldn't let them leave after kicking me out. Not to mention the guys who made it even worst laughed at them. I really had no idea what to do and i thought they where having a panic attack. Later they told me they had an episode so now I'm here researching because i really care about them, I should of done this way sooner. Please, if you care about them, research on what to do and the symptoms.

    Reading all the comments..
    My partner has just been diagnosed with psychosis. And it explains a lot of his behaviour. I don’t think I can mentally cope though, all of his delusions are against me. And I’m struggling with my mental health a lot right now too. But I’ve never loved like this, and I don’t think I ever will again. I’m really hurting. I don’t want to leave him.
    This video has helped a lot, hopefully now I can help him better.

    My brothers recently suffering with what appears to be schizophrenia... It's not so much hallucinations he has but more just voices in his head. They are literally driving him insane as they are loud and just non stop. It's a living living nightmare for him and the people he's living with right now. He has a heart condition so it's taking so long to get anti psychotic medication for him as they have to be extra careful. We are considering going private to speed things up as it's getting impossible to go through anymore days of watching him in so much pain from these voices. He's on promethazine at the moment which is not really doing much. However thank you for these tips.

    I
    never had a schizophrenic episode in my life until some guy bought me a drink and hours later I started seeing things and could not sleep, I would see scary looking things in walls like demons and in people.. when I would scratch my arm the feeling would be delayed and wouldn't show up until seconds later and when people would talk the words would be delayed with their mouths. The tv would also talk to me and this was literally after I had a drink from some stranger. ( first time it wasn’t even alcohol it was a regular drink ) This “episode“happened for months until my parents realized they couldn’t do anything. I called the police the same night and they tested my blood for drugs and said nothing was found in my system, I was just paranoid. Then, eventually I had to go to the mental hospital because I couldn't sleep for months even when I tried to. This happened in 2018, no schizophrenics in my family or nothing. Now in 2020 back in June the same thing happened some guy bought me a drink , my friend drank out of it as well and nothing happened to her ( I swear I had felt a pill ) and I had another episode and had to go to the mental institution because I wasn't in my right mind, seeing and hearing things. They said I had psychosis and schizophrenia, is it my mind playing tricks on me making me think they did something to my drink or am I actually schizophrenic because I never experienced this ever, the first time it happened I was 19. Now I am 22.

    Thank you for this video. My friend suffers with Psychosis as well being very suicidal, I'm quite scared after having to pull her to the ground because the voices were telling her she could fly, telling her to go to the bridge over the A127. She's a lot bigger than me and it took all my weight to get her to the ground and keep her down all while on the phone to the police... I'm not sure what I can do anymore, it's taken a heavy toll on my own mental health but she doesn't have many people to be there

    Many thanks for posting. What if somebody strongly resists the idea of emergency help (if they are really not at all convinced they need it and trying to persuade them only makes the situation worse if you're supporting them (as best as you can) as a long distance friend without being able to get to them in person easily and do not have their address?

  • @HouKill5525
    @HouKill5525 Před 3 lety +4

    Hi, I wanted to ask something. I believe I've had some form of psychosis for the past 10 years (I'm 21) but I've only have one psychotic episode serious enough to be put with a crisis team and they still sent me out despite being mid-paychosis because they just deemed it as "stress". I don't tend to act on impulse and instead halfway through them I feel scared and just hide as much as I can in that scenario, which people just mistake as "me having a panic attack and acting unreasonable because of it".
    I'm already on waiting list for ADHD services I had to fight as an adult for a few years because my family doesn't believe I'm mentally ill and I don't even know how to get started with help for this, because NHS doctors downplay my psychosis as "stress" and try to prescribe me antidepressants, which have never worked in the past and made my psychosis worse
    It's getting hard to manage and I don't know what to do. I'm sorry to burden you with this but is there something I can do to get help more easily? I already have to go private for ADHD and another personal issue that I have

    • @FirstaidforlifeOrgUk1
      @FirstaidforlifeOrgUk1  Před rokem

      I would recommend going back to your GP and explaining all this. Try not to downplay how you're feeling as it's important for them to get the full picture of how your feeling so that they can understand how important it is. I hope you're ok and remember that you can always call services such as Mind if you want someone to talk to.

    It might be noticed for the first time while they are 'totally lost' and in a dangerous situation for themselves. And later blame the family forever for not helping but 'locking them up'.
