I definitely don't need it, but somehow I need it now
Ste Ro it’s such a while pedal!!
The amount of creativity involved in making this pedal kind of terrifies me, honestly.
It’s such a wild pedal!!! I love it though!!
@@EricMerrow looks like so much fun. I didn't even get to the different rotary switch settings, haha. I think I just have to pick one up and screw around with it for a few hours. Thanks for the demo!
For what it's worth, this is by far the best demo of this pedal I've seen. Nobody else seems to understand how it works, yet you've made it perfectly clear. I don't know if that's an indictment on the majority of CZcams demos, but well done. I bought the pedal before I saw your video, but thanks to you, I'll have a grip on it, when it arrives.
Tony Shergold thank you so much for that comment, Tony! I’m so glad the video made sense and helped you figure the pedal out! You’re gonna love the Swarm!! 🤘🤘
+1!
I love how it's designed. It keep the bee motif without becoming silly. And the color is great, too!
They absolutely nailed the look on this pedal!
sexy af
Excellent demo, you took a pedal that most make look unruly and chaotic and showed how to plan your chaos. Compact, to the point and revealing.
Really glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
8 bit fuzz. Pretty unique tone.
It sounds like 8 bit grunge that's awesome
Yes!! I love the video game style sounds you can get out of the Swarm!
like contra NES
This has been the most informative and helpful video I’ve found regarding a demo. Thank you so much!
Mike Palmieri so glad it helped out! Thanks for watching!
Heraldo Surpriz thanks so much Heraldo!
I'd like to hear Thurston Moore playing it with good reverb
I bet it would sound phenomenal!!! Thanks for watching!
Fuck. This might be the fuzz I’ve been dreaming about
It’s absolutely amazing!!
Still so excited for the announcement of the winner of the Airline 59. Fingers crossed. Also awesome demo. The artwork of that pedal is especially cool.
So glad you like the demo! The Swarm is really incredible!
Seriously the best demo out there. Great job! I want to play some synth garage punk with this pedal
Panthiras Roz thank you so much for watching and commenting! 🤘🤘🤘
Hey, Eric, love your videos and pedal choices. Happy to be subscribed!
Thanks so much!!!!
Killer demo. That thing is wild
Thanks so much! The Swarm is definitely wild!!
That thing sounds killer! Now I wanna buy one :(
You won't regret it! :)
Instant jack white sludge/Wild horse tone
I wish I could afford this thing. I bet it could nail the intro to “Quicksand” by Lit. 🤘
It’s so sick!!!
Sounds great. Fun pedal.
Thanks a ton! It's definitely an incredibly fun pedal!
Excellent review and explanation.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
THIS WAS MADE FOR ME!!!!!
Thomas Pollock yes!! Glad you dig it!!!
Great demo, thanks! :-)
Thanks for watching!
Best review by far
Gre0g Tiberius so glad the video is helpful!
God dammit I need this pedal
It’s definitely awesome!!
this is the best swarm vid at the mo, really well explained, thanks rhett
My name is Eric. Thanks!
@@EricMerrow yes I'm aware of that i was thanking him for bringing me to yours
@@TheLeon1032 My bad! Thanks double to Rhett! He makes some great videos! Thanks for watching
@@EricMerrow no worries man, ur vid on this is the best online and helped me understand this weird beast a little better before buying it, thanks again man)
Agreed. Well explained! Thanks, Eric!
Sounds like CKY.... I need ittttt
YESSS!!
This thing is the balls 👍
Great video. Although I think each of the nine species options sounded more or less exactly the same 😂
What a fuzz. Where did I leave my adrenaline shot?
😂🤘
This is a very cool sounding pedal. I was hoping you'd demo it after seeing beetronics' own, and very silly, video of it. It reminds me a bit of the EQD Data Corruptor, but it seems a bit more musical. How does it react to chords/sloppy playing?
Thanks for watching! It’s fairly monophonic so you’ll get some glitchy harmony action when playing chords. I like to use my neck pickup with the tone rolled back to get the most stable tracking.
Great insightful demo, made recognise that it’s certainly not for me 🙉
This thing is so perfect, but its so freakin expensive!!
Thanks for watching!
why I'm just discovering this amazing pedal ???
I’m glad you dig it!
Looks cool. But it didn’t seem like the species knob changed the sound that much.
That’s understandable in some listening environments for sure, but the species knob actually makes a huge difference. It changes the intervals of the drone and queen signals. It’s also a more apparent change if you set the three levels at different points. My favorite species setting is either 7 or 8
My thoughts exactly
I've been looking for a harmonizer, and your video just found it for me. Where does the Swarm like to be in a signal chain?
Glad the video helped! I tend to put the swarm after my drive pedals but I also like to use it toward the front of my chain so I can send it into other drives as well. I would definitely put it before any modulation pedals for sure.
Notification Squad
So it is like an Earthquaker Devices' Data Corrupter
Beltenebros I think they are similar but not the same.
Neeeeed
ElectricJaguarBaby Management it’s so good! If you get one, you won’t be disappointed! 🤘🤘
@@EricMerrow it looks so crazy ! Your demo is awsome !
@@electricjaguarbaby234 Thank you so much!
This is a Phase Lock loop pedal right?
Felipe costa chinasso I’m not going to claim to know much about that but I believe it is a PLL
Would it work with a bass?
It would work for bass too! You may get some glitchy sounds because of tracking inconsistencies on lower notes.
Monophonic?
Yes, it’s quite monophonic. Multiple notes will get you some glitchy characteristics
would this pedal work on a bass?
100% yes! I haven’t tried it on mine yet, but I bet it would sound awesome!
@@EricMerrow cool :) reason i ask is i've tried some guitar pedals on my bass and some only work past a certain point on the neck :) thanks for the reply!
can it be used as a standard fuzz too? before dialing in the wacky harmony stuff
Ja frost yep! The ‘worker’ knob controls the level of your initial signal which is run through a fuzz. However, you don’t get any eq or gain controls for the fuzz circuit
@@EricMerrow i swapped my royal jelly for the swarm today, the OD side of things just didnt do it for me, guna put the difference in cost toward a dedicated od pedal. also grabbed a dr acid (keeping it aussie!) fuzz pedal for when i need a bit more control of the fuzz tone. looking forward to seeing how the swarm interacts with reverb and delay, it seems perfect for peircing a warm, droning, furry undercurrent with some glitchy, tin shed freakiness
@@EricMerrow it arrived friday and
holy hell, its wild! legit have to approach
it in its own way, definitely a rutt breaker
pedal!
if i run it through the effects loop of my amp instead of the standard input, will that give me more control using the amps eq before the signal hits the pedal? ive noticed its reeeaally hard to get much distinction on the lower end, its all blurred together into one big sound and i cant seem to dial that away at all and as you pointed out the pedal has no eq or gain control
Ja frost I would definitely try it and see if you like it! There aren’t any hard rules when using a pedal of this type and craziness, Haha. Another thing to keep in mind is that it is monophonic. So if you’re throwing multiple notes at it, it’s going to start getting glitchy and a bit muddled.
@@EricMerrow ahhh so this would be more for single note type stuff and leads then yeah? ive noticed anything more than two strings bending sends it spaz and chords all blur into the same mess no matter what. tbh, i also probably need lessons again. its been about 10 years since life got in the way and ive only just been able to replace my broken electric and having trouble finding my fingers again haha
Difinatly sounds like a synth
Pretty wild right?? Thanks for watching!
Great comprehensive video
But the pedal, let's just say it's not my taste
Thanks for watching! It’s definitely a very gnarly pedal!
Data corrupter
It’s similar! Not quite the same thing though
