During midnight in the northern parts of Norway it's dead silent, it's like the world is empty and if your at the coast, all you can hear is the waves. No seagulls in sight. but your internal clock ain't gonna let you sleep for the entire summer. Opposite way around during the winter too. In northern-Norway you only get ca 40 min of sunlight in the middle of the winterdays. After that, it's like the sun didn't exist. Your gonna feel sleepy the entire day.
I got some relatives in northern norway and the scary part about winter is when you visit someone for like an hour when it's bright, but when you leave it is pitch black outside and there is a blizzard.
From going to Svalbard, the sun not setting in the summer really messes with your sense of time. You’re still able to sleep but you sort of have to force yourself into a dark room, and you won’t be able to tell at all what time you woke up is.
