Restoring Destroyed 1985 Air Jordan 1s and Turning Them to Metallic Purple Customs | ASMR

- I’m Back!
Here’s a full start to finish ASMR version of a commission for Foxtrot Uniform - Reconstructing an original pair of ’85 Metallic Blues and reconstructing them into the ultra rare Metallic Purple color-way.
Cleaning and conditioning the leather while maintaining the 37 year “patina”. I replaced old liners, foam, collars, swooshes and tongue. I was unable to reuse the original tongues and collar liners because of wear, as originally planned. These are refitted with the 2021 Jordan Court Purple outsoles that have been dyed in coffee, as well as the original thread, which has been waxed as well.
Purchase the scans of the deconstructed shoe here! (you can also find my patterns on my website as well)

These are the type of shoe restoration videos I like. ASMR, no annoying narration and no crappy music, just craftsmanship. 😎
riiiight!? no wierd mouth stuff 🤢
this 53 minute video felt like it was 5 minutes long. what an unbelievable amount of time and detail put into this full restoration. definitely the best jordan restoration/custom i've ever seen in my life
He even kept that used look to them. They look 36 years old but are still in good condition.
@danielmiller3627 shoe doc doesn't take shoes like this and completely rebuild them so let's give credit where it's due. Shoe doc is great at what he does but this is a different level and doesn't compare
facts @@Rogue328
This is god level restoration.
That might be an understatement. Lol. I'm in awe right now.
God don’t restore…. He creates 😂
@@OGbobbyKUSH God can restore us if we were on the wrong path or broken and thinking we are in disrepair.
@@d.felixphoto2260 umm he better get to work then…. Is he overbooked?
@@OGbobbyKUSH if you need him and call he will restore anyone. God favors the faithful
Hands down best restoration I've seen. You brought these back from the dead and the cracked purple leather is a thing of beauty.
They're restored so perfect that they look like they've never been touched just aged naturally. Beautiful Beautiful work👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is like Ship of Theseus. How much of the original is left and can this even be called restoration of original or building a new shoe from a few salvaged parts.
Glad to see you back on CZcams! I know how tedious editing these videos must be. Hope you upload more next year.
no you don't
Blown away by the dedication to accuracy. You did an outstanding job, couldn’t be any better. You are a god in this community never stop!
Your videos reminds me why I love this shoe silhouette. Elite work. Extremely satisfying.
Unbelievable attention to detail. I'm not a shoe guy, sneakerhead, whatever, but I watched this whole video and loved every second of it. Amazing work.
Thank you!
The editing and detail with your work is very cool. Thanks for the break down on how you did it!
I absolutely admire the attention to detail of this deconstruction, reconstruction of these shoes. Your skill level is in total view, for all to see. Well done Sir 👏
There is dedication & love in his work. When one loves what they do, skill will follow.
This is not a restoration, this is art!
Amazing! I have 2 old Singers like yours.
Your used a different foam now.
My favorite part was the glueing the toe box on the last. Then sewing it after.
love all the hard work you put into each pair
That’s amazing work. Been watching for a while. Definitely stands out for the quality and knowledge
Loving the excellent attention to detail wit how you retained the past life of these trainers and brilliant. Print work with the silk screening ❤
I gotta say I find a lot of appreciation on your respect for the original material. This is master class restoration.
just found your channel and binged it.. hope you the best.. i hope you make more like this you are on a different level master ,,,
Excellent video and excellent work. My only suggestion for you is maybe get a leather sewing machine with compound feet. That vintage Singer you are using just doesn’t have the piercing power, and you might just wear it out trying to sew leather. You can get a vintage Singer leather machine for less than $500, and they have lots of extras for it on the open market. If you have the $, you can get a Brother leather machine (that’s what I have) that will sew anything.
Once again, great work and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
The time and effort is phenomenal, your channel is absolutely going to blow up 👌🏾
This is an amazing restoration. The quality of the finish is amazing.
Real craftsmanship, looks absolutely stunning!!
The only thing I personally would’ve done, was slightly staining the new shoe tongues.
Keep uo the good work 🙌🏼🙌🏼
looking back I agree
The aged theme is spot on. That was incredible
This is actually one of the legit restoration videos props to you bro
I liked the rugged f-ed up look and how you matched it with the intentional cracking texture on the purple swoosh and other purple parts.

Staining outsole glue with coffee was genius,I’ll definitely remember that trick Thank you!.
I loved watching your swoosh and tongue methods on this one Max! Incredible work
Also the care with which you deconstructed and were preserving where possible and analysing each piece
The best Air restoration I've ever seen, great job 👏
That was a super-human effort and it has a truly restored aesthetic. I have a pair of 4's I refuse to toss always thought of doing something with them to clean them up but this has shown me the error of my ways lol.
Glad to see you back posting again keep it up hope to see more

Watching this inspired me to finally replace the foam inside my 2004 Puerto Rico Air Force 1s
The screen print of the air jordan wing logo is the most satisfying part
