  • In this video I demonstrate how to make a quick, simple, and fun basket using yarn (or you could use fabric strips, too). I also show some souvenir yarn I purchased in Chicago while I was there for a psychology conference at the end of last week. And I review a good audiobook that I recently finished listening to.

Hi, just a piece of constructive criticism:
Perhaps the video would be a little bit better if you got straight to the point of the video instead of talking for the first half. I promise I don’t mean this in a mean way, I just think that people would enjoy your video more if you saved your updates and stories for later in the video. Or maybe leave a time stamp where you get to the actual basket making process.

It's the first time I've seen these yarn baskets and they are great. I really enjoy your book reviews, too, being a lover of historical fiction. I'm making a nice reading list. Thanks so much for your podcast.

I made these bowls but I drew my own pattern on a piece of cardstock and cut it out. I had my grandkids (ages 9 and 11) dye some yarn as an experiment with Kool aid but they don't knit so we made baskets with the yarn. It was worsted weight wool that we dyed. The baskets look really good. They are going to give them to their mother for mother's day. It was a fun project to do with them and they'll have a memory to remember me by.

Hi Sonia -- oh wow, what a great idea! You are so clever to cut out your own basket frame. :) I'm sure the kids had a wonderful time making the baskets and their mom will love her gifts. ♥♥♥

Thanks for the book recommendation! I will check this out because I have read the four Kopp sisters books by Amy Stewart. If you love historical fiction and women that are ahead of their time, you will love the story of Constance Kopp.
I love the yarn basket! I have to make one now.

The cardboard the helps make the bowl. Did you order it online or make it at home? Because if you made it at home. Do you have a template of it?
