I worked here from 1995 - 2003 and was a maintenance fitter in the solvent recovery department, which was situated over the bridge that you walked across in your video. The bridge was in fact made by my co-worker Vic Szabor. The last laboratory you went into was for the solvent recovery department and was a prefab building. Like the shot of the vertical boilers in the main factory which I think were in a department called basic make. Always remember the grounds being absolutely pristine, tetrosyl employed their own gardeneners and were situated in a large greenhouse around the back of the warehouses. Regards Albert Smith. 20,000.
The gift keeps on giving with you guys.
A joy to keep finding local stuff,, in between your other events. Brill 👍
Really great video. I'm from Bury and it's really interesting to see what's changing. Went for an interview way back for a lab chemist/ technician job at tetrosyl.
You narrate the videos so well and they are really interesting to watch! Congrats and keep going! 20,000
Love the establishing drone shots, adds so much context. Do watch this again folks - step through the Cinematics on pause and admire the composition of each of these shots. Well worth 20,000K subs!
I appreciate that a lot! We spend a long time getting each shot exactly right 👍🏼

My mother was born in Bevis Green cottages in 1929. My Great grandad, Grandad and uncles worked in the mill back then - a cotton dying and printing mill owned by Simpson and Godlee. The two men were Quakers and Francis Godlee funded the Godlee building and the Godlee observatory at UMIST . He probably also gave Manchester Astronomical society the extremely rare celestial almanac by John Bevis 1786. Perhaps this is where he got the inspiration for the name Bevis Green. The factory named one of its range of cotton curtain fabrics "Bevis" too. Moving on to the factory's next use by Tetrosyl. My father-in-law was works manager there. And both my husband and I worked there over the summer when we were students. Strange how a mill can be so interwoven with a family over generations.
Congrats on 20,000. You deserve a lot more!

20,000 thanks for the awesome explore. Very interesting. We enjoy all your videos 👍😃
That means a lot thank you
I would suggest that used to be cotton mill, perhaps a dyeworks as it has a millpond.
Yes!
I worked as an electrician there for 17years back in the 60s to the 80s, brought back some great memories. The factory was called Know mill printing works, they use to print cloth mostly for curtains. It closed early 60s. Then Tetrosyl bought it.
One off them that looks like a lamp shade with the coilled pipe would be a dust extraction device
I'm watching the 10,000 subscriber video right after this 20,000 subscriber milestone! Great work!
Thank you!
20,000 subs great vid, love the history ❤️❤️❤️ keep up the great work! 😁🙌

Might have to give this a look soon, great video Alistair 👍
Thanks pal
20,000 woooow well done xxxx
Hi guys Great video once again!! It’s was a huge site and many buildings the best where the older rock face building bricks that had so much details in them of day’s gone bye and remembering the men Who built them it was also good to see some of the machinery still left some heavy duty stuff and technology equipment within this complex and high risk throughout the factory 👍
Thanks pal, it’s a massive place for sure! An enjoyable explore though :)
Brilliant vid you have earned yourself a new subscriber 👌😉

3.18 into the vid shows yellow cast iron pillar supports i work in a former GWR factory just like this they serve 2 purposes 1 to support the roof and 2 they act as down pipes to take away the rain water away from the gully's the victorians were very efficient
Thanks for letting us know!

great video!
Thank you :)
Funny how the only products they left were highly flammable, makes you wonder if planning permission hadn't been passed there may have been a fire 'accidentally'. Interesting to see I used to live around here applied for an admin job but never went to the interview.
Great explore 20,000
Glad you liked it
Also the canteen food must have been dire as the workers were always at the chippy or butty shop down the road
20,000 subs. congrats

Thank you man
20,000 awesome explore :)
I love this channel 20,000
20,000 well done the only way is up.
Cracking video as usual, the drone footage gas taken things into a new level.
I reckon the smell would have probably been motor oil which does have a distinct odour.
Thank you matey, and that makes sense 👍🏼
20000 congratulations 👍
Thank you very much

Really enjoy your content. So strange seeing a building(not this factory ofc) I once visited when I was just a lad in such a different light. Would love to see you visit Scotland again in the future.
Thank you, factories are so interesting because of how silent they suddenly can be compared to when they were used. Obviously we are unable to visit Scotland at the moment, but we will be when we can! We still have more videos to post from the country
Where about's in Bury? Tetrosyl took over the Yates and Duxbury paper mill site on Bridge hall lane next to Pulse at the top of the lane which used to be Transparent Paper.
Worked there a couple of years ago lol strange seeing it so empty and still
20,000 . Really interesting video, looking forward to the next one
Thank you, we post every two weeks :)

20,000 😷-👍 Awesome video.
Thank you :)
Interesting mixture of buildings some of which was very old and as you pointed out has been abandoned long before the rest of of the site was cleared out
One thing I didn’t get was why leave stock behind and the contents of that display cabinet looked expensive
Some parts of the site looked like they had been used the day before, whilst others looked like they had suffered years of neglect... we don’t understand that either, the stock appears in great condition.
great vid as always 2000
Thank you 👍🏼
the old buildings remind me of parts of chatham and devonport dockyards
Wow, that poor house plant needs rescuing 🌱
20'000 Another brill explore 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
20,000 Great video as usual
Thank you very much
WOW x
20,000 Keep up the great work!
Will do!
I used to go there as a lorry driver to collect paint. It would have been in the early 2000's it was always chaos and driver's would have to wait hours to get loaded and if I remember rightly you had to wear safety glasses everywhere on site which was a total bummer as safety glasses were called "safety goggles" back then and they were too, with elastic to hold them on. They soon got better but PPE was only just coming in to the point that they could make drivers from outside firms wear it and people used to say an this won't stick, give it 6 months and they'll have forgotten all about it 😂 how wrong we were!
Good explore guys..... 20000
Thank you
20,000 great video

No problem! Thanks for watching :)
@@Urbandoned thank you for uploading, always love seeing whats new you found 😁
I've been on that site a few times . security was ridiculously tight ... Dashcams , phones and anything else that could cause a spark are strictly monitored . And that was just in the car park .
worked there a couple of times in the 90's
looks a bit different now
1353 more like the developers gave a price for the land tetrosyl couldn't refuse im sure some of the building will be preserved and and converted also the new factory will be up to date eco and safe
I've always wondered were T-CUT was made ,,,now I know
632 yes packaging and product stickers
20000 love ur vids btw

Not sure but those machines around the 6-7 minute mark look like vertical moulding machines and the pipes look like some kind of a dust extractor.
Appreciate it, we couldn’t work it out!
It was the powder filling room the 3 machines filled tetrafill = polyfilla the 1 in the corner did sugarsoap tubs and the extractor thing was for grout the room were it was on the floor was the up stairs powder mixing room you should have gone in the basement down the stairs shown that was all the out of bounds for staff
Love your Channel, Every Video is always interesting..... Do you have any Abandoned Paper Mill Videos or intend on making any? "20,000"
Thanks! We do have a paper mill video, and it’s probably the best one we will ever explore. It’s linked halfway through the video, and it’s titled ‘Time Capsule Paper Mill’ on our channel 👍🏼
I watched the Paper Mill Video, it looks like they told them to shut it down and Leave, Barely letting them get their Personal belongings. I worked at a Paper Mill here in the US for 23 years. They shut it down and Bulldozed it to the Ground. The Newer paper machine in your video is more like the ones we had, very similar but ours was probably newer Paper Machine Winders and equipment ......Sad to see, brings back memories...Thank You
