@Jordan Tyson there's a BIG overlap with hip-hop, dance hall, reggae, etc. Massive overlap. They lump them together quite often. The overlap for rap and alternative rock wasn't that prevalent until that collab. Not saying that Drake didn't fuse genres together, but Jay fused a bigger gap together imo.

Dax is not a popular artist, he's way more talented/ versatile than drake as a rapper. Drake's biggest asset is his voice. I don't think as an artist yiu can compare drake to that many rappers because in my opinion he's using his acting experience to put on a persona which is basically what rapping is in the first place but unlike other rappers Drake's persona is carefully crafted to fit fans and to out out a certain quality of sound.
