Ram needs to couple an Eaten Fuller 9-speed so an owner can have 3:73 gears AND low speed gearing! Do this and buyers would be breaking the dealer doors down!
The fact you stay objective about all the makes keeps me watching. being open minded is a virtue
Regarding the mirrors, I swore you were about to say “...and now you’re ready to look like a douchebag.”
You got me there!!
I agree with you on the sunroof. I think one of the many reasons why some people complain about how expensive trucks are getting is that most trucks on dealership lots are usually specked out, even the midrange trims.
I own a 2017 Megadually with the Aisin transmission and factory air bags. This truck is happiest when towing my 2014 Bighorn 3585rl! Keep up the great videos!
A few things: that’s the set up I have except i don’t have air suspension and I ordered mine with 60/40 split front seat so I have 6 person capacity.
The Truck You drove is brand new. My truck had much much more power after about 5,000 miles on it. I actually like the mirrors now that I am used to them. The dash screen is customizable, I chose screen to show trans temp, oil temp MPH as my everyday screen in addition to analog gauges. One thing this truck has that is great is the gear selection on the shifter, I use mine while towing down a steep grade with exhaust brake on full. Sunroof only good purpose is for smokers which i am not. Great video.
I just picked up my 5500 yesterday I never knew that about the mirrors
I'm glad that Ram still offers a manual transmission in their trucks, but I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few years they stop offering it. It's a shame that these truck manufacturers don't offer a manual anymore, there is a market I guarantee that.
edm there is a market the problem is, 1 too many ppl don’t know how to drive manual anymore 2 there isn’t enough of a market to justify the cost of production 3 ppl are just plain lazy anymore and 4 the advancement in all 3 auto transmissions far exceeds the reason to buy them. Yrs ago the manuals and autos were on par as far as towing but now, not even close. Manuals USED to be on top w fuel mileage but again now, not so much.
But they are fun to drive :D it's just a better driving experience. Maybe in the future they will have some type of shifter that pops out of the floor and a button you can push to put it in manual mode, like they do now on the column shifters. And maybe even a clutch pedal that comes forward lol
Yes I agree I'd love to have a manual transmission in my truck. I haven't owned a manual transmission car or pickup since the 80s. I miss it.
kman 4443 slap on an Eaton Fuller 13 speed
Rumor has it, the 5th gen will not offer the manual (g56 or other) that the ZF 8 speed will be the third option to the 68rfe and Aisin.
A few of my trucks have this exact set-up and the 4:10 gears are my absolute favorite. At 70 mph I'm at 1800 RPM's which is in the perfect power curve, and, you don't want to tow faster than that anyway. My fuel mileage is really good - towing my 15,000 fifth wheel gets right at 10 mpg (towing) and if I baby it with mostly highway driving I get 17 mpg. Anyway, great vid Big RV
I bought a 3500 HD Cummins Laramie truck in 2008 . In the provided dvd it was indicated that after 10,000 miles engine will start to run smoother and stronger ! I am very happy with the truck and considering my age this million mile truck will be the last truck I will ever nerd ( if I don’t trad it in for newer RAM ) . This video makes me think of a trad what the hell we are going to live once .Thanks for nice presentation. PEACE .
Rams are great trucks. Really like what they''ve been doing these last few years, especially with what they offer in there packages, options etc... on their build & price section.
Could not agree more about the sunroof. I was wondering about the tuning radius as compared to your F350 and 450. I have a 18 Ram 1500 and couldn’t be happier with it. I really like the phone holder. Finally a manufacturer designed something for your phone. I think the others will follow suit. Great video
My wife and I test drove a Ram with same power train configuration. We hated the seats and she hated foot well hump in the passenger floor. I’m 6’3” and the seat doesn’t go back far enough or low enough. She is just over five foot and her feet didn’t touch the floor with the seat in its lowest position. We loved the Laramie Longhorn, however we went with the 18 Denali 3500 drw
Finally, another guy who understands. These newer trucks are shorter height in the cabs. Especially the new Superduty. My head touches the headliner even when leaned back a bit.
I guess we are just oddballs, men of a bygone era. Now it's just shrimpy little fellas.
@@CR500R Sports cars and private planes are made for us too 🤣
I love the lack of bias in your videos your just telling it how it is :)
Cummins all day!!! Shout out all the inline 6 owners 👍🏽💪🏽😎
My Freight Liner , 1974 , had 350 small cam tuned to 400 to the ground , loved it 4.10 gears ,& 13 sp., had to go to 68 to get last gear .
Ive been hot shotting for 23 years and currently have 37 trucks on the road today going coast to coast. Ive owned everythng from Chevys, Fords, & Dodge Rams. I ran Fords when I started but could hardly ever get over 100K out of them before having constant issues. Now I run Chevys & Dodges. Ive had good luck out of both. Better fuel mileage in the Duramax. Especially in the mountains. Cant wait for the 2019 Rams. For sure!
I will say I have never been a "brand guy" I've owned both Y2K and Ford. I've never owned a Dodge and haven't really thought much of them... but you showing these new Ram HD pickups off makes it hard not to love them. Thank you for keeping your opinions totally unbiased it is so rare in any reviews anymore!
My 2018 Laramie 3500 dually will be arriving in about 3-5 weeks. I ordered mine with the Aisin and 3.73 gears since it will only haul a camper about 2-3 times a year. No sunroof. Current truck is a 2015 Silverado 2500 Duramax.
awesome! You'll love your new truck I'm sure
True Trucker I’m thinking the same move myself
Hold on True, you going from a 2015 to 2018?! I feel like my 2015 F150 is still new!
Taka Yama it still looks and feels new. Problem is when you don’t get what you want in the beginning, you end up trading it in after a few years. Previous truck I had for 11 years.
Big Truck Big RV here is an interesting story why this guy will never have a sunroof again. czcams.com/video/vXOqsFBpoaM/video.html hopefully the link works.
Nice review! I have the 2017 mega cab Limited with the max tow package and alt right height. I can tell you first hand that the difference between the 3:42 and 4:10 gears is more noticeable when towing. And like you, I don’t care sunroofs either therefore, I opted to not have one installed. You are also correct that since I have the airbags my payload is reduce slightly 5370 to be exact.
I was on the fence as well between the F350 and Ram 3500, but in any survey you read, CR, Autotrend, etc., it has the Ford leading in reliability. Still love the Ram, though.
Don’t laugh at me but I have a commuter car that’s a Fiat 500 but the interior has a U connect and a intuitive interior, it’s just like the Ram truck in that manner. Chrysler has really done their homework and the U connect system is better than other Bluetooth setups by other makers especially the top of the line radio in my Buick Enclave. Ram trucks really has changed and is a competitor with the big boys.
I love the u connect! And I love my 16 ram 2500!! I mean love it!!
I laughed at you...😁 Love Fist from my days in Germany. Not to be though.
Hell yes, UConnect is the BOSS👍
I truely love the ghost trailer.
I'm so close to getting a Ram or GMC dually...hopefully before summer.
That's 100% What I'm getting when I grow up BTW I'm 12 years old
I have an 05 Dodge with the 5.9 Cummins and I love it! 16,500 LBS towing capacity that is plenty for me! It has 95000 miles on it and is trouble free. Anything but a Ford.
I have a 2012 Durango R/T and a 2018 Ram Limited. Both bought brand new, and both equipped with sunroofs. I hate the sunroofs, and wish I could have found them on the lots without the sunroofs. Only opened on accident learning the switches in the new vehicles.
The HD Rams won’t be updated for 2019. Rumors are MY 2021. I’ve got the exact truck without the Aisin. It still has the finned aluminum diff cover. The 68RFE does real well with the 4.10’s. I tow a 19K 5’er with mine. I love it.
Thanks for your review I’ve been following your channel for about a year now and just went out and bought a brand new left over 18 ram 3500 Laramie apples to apples down to the color of this truck except mine came with a 30k mopar fifth wheel hitch. I’m upgrading from a 15 ram 3500 cab & chassis.
I got this in the 2016, and just paid it off..👍🏻👍🏻Love it!!
Great video. I have a 2017 RAM Laramie Longhorn DRW with Aisin 4:10 4x4 and 8’ bed. Unfortunately, my dealer ordered it plow prep for some reason and not tow prep so I don’t have the bags. I have a Grand Design Momentum 376TH with payload of about 3600Lbs and GVWR 20,000 Lbs. We full time today but had not hauled the RV too much till now. We just drove from Ontario Canada to Salt Lake City UT and the truck is just awesome. I do squat about 3-4 inches but I can’t yet justify the cost of air bags. We hit 40-60Mph gusts of wind plus drove through mountains, no issue.
Looking forward to part 2.
you cant justify $300 ?!? Buying my bags for my 2016 Ram 3500 SRW Aisin tranny in a few days and im getting the firestone ride right threw amazon and there $295. now it doesn't have the pump and im going to have to air them up myself but its only $300 bucks
Are you trying to say I have a mind like a 3 year old? Cause its not far from the truth...
I loves sunroofs. I honestly feel happier driving in a car where the roof lets in the light. then again I live in Wisconsin... so its like the sun is oppressive force of nature even in the winter months making everything feel hot and like it could burst into flame.
Love the videos.. keep up the good work.
This is so close to the truck my wife and I ordered on Jan 12, 2018. We got the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition of this truck, because we plan on pulling a 40' fifth wheel we got the dually version. It has the HO cummings/Aisin/4:10 rear end. We chose the RV Match Walnut Brown exterior. There is only one interior available for this special edition, it is the Canyon Brown/Frost and it stunning. The controls are very user friendly and easy to work. We named our truck "Bentley"(like the car), because it is so luxurious and comfortable. I plan on adding a BAK revolver x4 tonneau cover, a RDS 60 Gallon auxiliary fuel tank and a Bed Rug, because I liked the one in your Ford F450. I am still not settled on the mirrors just yet, but I can fold them up and it will be good enough. My take is if it is the only I don't like, I can deal with it. The dealer told us that it was the most expensive truck they had ever ordered with the MSRP just above 80,000 we got it for a great price at just above 70,000. Needless to say we LOVE this truck
Scott Sears where did you order it. We live in Oregon and have looked for exactly a truck like you have.
I really enjoy your truck reviews, your opinions are spot on. I do believe that you know what information your viewers are looking for! Keep the vids coming!
Holy Grail of Ram's = 1998 12 valve, quad cab, short bed, Sport pkg.
TurboDieselDan Ram never made a 1998 12 valve
Yes they did.
Lonely Wolf You got dropped on your head when you were a baby.
Lonely Wolf "1998.5" is when they switched to the 24 valve 6bt.
thesixgunfighter 24 valve ISB
Doesn't the new 2019 Ram 1500 have the same style flop out towing mirrors? I'm assuming the next Ram Heavy Duty will be using the same mirrors. Looks like we're in for another decade with them.
1:24 I was like “Dang! Drive it like ya stole it!!!” 😜
I love the sound of that industrial engine in the mornings. Cummins lets me know that I’m actually driving a diesel. I have nothing against the other two but damn they sound like gassers.
Mirrors in the correct position to annoy incoming traffic on a narrow 2-lane FM road in Texan!
WOW!!!!!!!!!! finnaly an unbiased review. Cummins do sound the best and have been proven to be more reliable because less moving parts always wins....please do more diesel videos.
give me an example of a biased review I've done in the last year?
I assume they mean your video was excellent while others are biased. Be well. Wayne
you're probably right
yayaya1193able besides sounding good on the internet how does the inline 6 having less parts make it more reliable in today’s modern configurations?
Jason Larsen
Shut up Furd dipshit
Very interesting to me that you prefer a dually over srw. For the newer trucks I've come to really appreciate srw's over duals -even though I haul very heavy on the truck (not towing). A good wheel/tire and air bag upgrade can make an srw comparable to a dually for stability. Besides the obvious stuff it's worth it not having to chain up, by law, through mountain pass chain control and much less hassle from the road pirates too.
I can't wait to see the 2020 heavy duty cummins
Alex Ruiz was thinking the same thing!
I had a 2016 Ram 2500 Mega cab Cummins 3.42 rear... My 2018 Ram Cummins Dually 3.73 had much more pep and doesn't have the delay acceleration like my 16 did.
I just bought a 2018 Ram 3500 SRW with Aisin and made an intro video on it. Ref test drives I also test drove several RAM DRW 3500 with and without Aisin. I do feel and hear a difference with Aisin. Aisin feels like a manual trsnsmission if that makes any sense but that's the way it feels and sounds to me. For fuel mileage (according to the TFL guys) 2016 Cummins beats Ford / GM by 14% with mpg while towing over 20,000 lbs. Also... SRW is superior in terms of fuel mileage and keeping costs lower for commercial purposes. DRW wins the safety and payload contest. SRW wins the cost per mile ref tire rotation and tire changes. Ah, one last thing ... something people rarely if ever mention. Choosing a lower axle ratio in modern trucks with high 800 to the 930 lb ft of torque the 6.7L Cummins with Aisin puts out cancels out the need for the higher axle ratio. Essentially you get the best of both worlds in terms of better fuel mileage and still pulling away with plenty of power.
On my 3500 Ram crew 4x4 dually I run with my mirrors up because it is easier to see over the fenders, my dad when he was a live he drove with them down. As you know my truck is deleted because the DPF was going out and it was starting to smoke real bad and fuel economy was no where to be found a long with power. My brothers truck a 2012 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab towing a 18' car trailer with 2 SXSs on it only got 10 mpg at around 65 mph where mine deleted and a dually with same gears got 16 at around 65mph same load.
The Aisis has a lower transmission ratio in 1st gear which is why it is faster off the line. IMO.
Best truck, best exhaust brake and of course best Diesel- Inline 6cyl Cummins..
I said this when you reviewed the 2019 Ram 1500. I'm making a call that you will upgrade to the ALL NEW 2021 Ram HEAVY DUTY 3500 dually with 1000lb/ft torque. 12 inch screen and all, this is now an old Ram and it still impresses you. I know you will get the new gen of this heavy duty Ram. I'm calling it now!!!
Very possible.
I think you would LOVE my 2018 Ram 3500 Dually! I got the Longhorn package, but not the Southfork edition. I've have a couple of Laramies in the past and the leather in the Longhorn is much nicer. I don't have a sunroof (which like you I didn't want) and a few of the Southfork features are left off, but I like it better that way. I dont have the two tone paint job (a brown in 2018), but have a full pearl white color. I got it in Feb and have over 5000 miles and 3000 of that is towing out 5th wheel (exact same 5th wheel you have). Enjoy your videos... thanks!
I dunno...I wouldn't complain about having engine noise in the cab. Sound is great. Also, it will NOT be too loud
When you look in your rear view and see them tow mirrors flip out its just a matter of time you get listen to that inline six just barely working coming buy you. That sound sells for me
I agree with you on the sunroof think Ford should make a model with pre 2017 look that's all the sunroof I need just to gaze at the stars every once in a while.
I just added 2 XLT F-250's 6.2L gas to my fleet and in October another 2 Mr Ford lol.
Mainly looked at Ford and Nissan which may not be apples to apples to anyone but myself. I'm disabled and need the King Cab with clam shell doors. Nissan Canada to this day has still not brought in the King Cab to Canada.
Totally agree on flipping up the mirrors. Mine are always up. Ghost trailer engaged! I like my Limited better. My buddies Laramie leather doesn't see as good as my Limited. Whats your opinion?
I used my sunroof once to change out a center clearance bulb. Other than that it stays closed.
I really enjoy your videos , thank you for getting into the details of truck capacity and ratings, it’s very easy to to think 2 trucks are the same but one may have 2x the tow capacity than the other identical appearing truck .Im sure you know this already, but you don’t really need 4.10 with a Cummins to pull heavy.... they will pull very well with 3.73 it’s good compromise ,and I’m sure you know the tow ratings are not DOT enforceable, the 3.73 trucks will pull 30,000 just as well as the 4.10 trucks in most situations except in the mountains where the 4.10 helps the engine and and exhaust brake to perform better ....there are thousands of hotshots doing it every day and very few have 4.10 s. Not sure how many Rams you’ve towed heavy with but they are in a league of there own, the inline 6 and the way Cummins has the fuel curve setup they pull harder the more you load them, they like a bigger trailer, where as the V8 powerstroke and Duramax are quicker on there feet and eager to perform once loaded to the max the less powerful Cummins pulls the load easier and stays in a higher gear way longer before having to downshift....I own an ecoboost F150 and a GMC 8.1 ( bought my first Cummins in 1999)and I love them all, but there’s nothing I’ve pulled with in a pickup that compares to the effortless way a Cummins tows, and I know the 6.7 Ford is a pulling machine,as is the new L5P Duramax ....but only in a Ram you
find yourself giggling in disbelief at how easy it makes it seem and how easy it stays in top gear on most hills, they are under rated the most and incredible pulling trucks.
Yes it does give it more sound the Cummins is my favorite too
in reference to the 68rfe comment: there's a good possibility the gear ratios in 1st/2nd cause that sluggish feeling
Can’t wait for part 2 of this for the surprise I bought this and sold my 450
Toyota has a simple dial to level your headlights when loaded. And yes soon they will have a line of HD trucks including a dually. All gas powered no diesels.
I know it wouldn't be a truck video, but if that dealership ever got a SRT DEMON I'd love to see you drive and review that !!
Surprisingly no aftermarket vendor has taken advantage of the usual mention of the towing mirrors. Like ur video sir. Umm if I may from one of ur previous video if a big rig sway bar is install on any fourth gen will it increase its towing number or just be more stable
Can you do a big favor??? Can you measure the bed heights from the manufactures???? DRW and SRW? These trucks seem to get higher which being an RV guy that makes a big difference. It would be a fitting video I would think.
Love the review. This is exactly what I am looking for minus two points - I want a 3:73 and I want a front bench seat.
We like our 2017 3500 hauling our triple slide truck camper. Don't spend too much time driving a straight six diesel unless you want to trade in your current truck...
I have the same truck jjust a 2014 as you'd see my channel you'll see that it's similar and I keep my tow mirriors up all the time. One thing I will point out is merly the fact of all the recalls I've had.
I was watching thinking the truck was a Manuel trans because that is the best
I'm so close to switching back to the Ram
Love love love the Rams. That is a beautiful machine and thanks so much for all the great reviews and opinions you offer. I am still hesitant to pull the trigger on a new one, especially with a diesel plant, because of the lifetime warranty on gas engines. Your thoughts on that? I mean the towing capacity is so much better in a diesel package but 150,000 miles later I could be stuck without a warranty potentially.
Ram all day, every day.
Sasha review of the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie with that 12 inch nav display. Apparently they're only offering it on certain trims. It didn't make sense to me though. I figure it you want to spend the money, they'll option it.
Thanks for your tips on these trucks.
Your knowledge is appreciated.
Has dodge figured out the problems of rust through of the fenders and rear quarter panels?
I agree that the truck is a great tow vehicle with the Cummings engine and Asian transmission.
That guy in the red shirt at 5:42 just DISAPPEARS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and you don't say anything??? :)
He was beamed back up to the mothership.
He knew too much
I only use my sunroof to change bulbs in my clearance lamps
How does towing/empty MPG for this truck compare with different axle ratios? I'm guessing the difference would be less than indicated by just dividing one ratio by the other because of all the other factors that would be independent of axle ratio, e.g. wind/tire/rolling resistance. But how much?
Waiting on 2020-2021 RAM 3500 to inherit all the great 2019 RAM 1500 upgrades, expect to trade in my 2009 F250 at that time.
Total Agreement on the Sunroof!
6:04
Totally agree. My 4 year old is the only reason my sunroof gets attention
The turning radius is going to keep you in the F450.....just be careful it’s hard to adjust back.
Roads in Corpus seem to be a tad rough
I still prefer the current 3/4 & 1-ton Ford's, but after seeing the 2019 Ram 1/2ton I bet the coming Big Ram will be the one to have.
I was hesitant but the new 19 Ram is good in person
Usually bought Fords but Bison Ford dealer pissed me off on balking with minor issues under extended warranty on my 2010 Shelby.
Solution, went down the road a bit and just bought 2018 Siverado High Country dually one ton Dura Max with Sun Roof . I like the roof open, diffrent perpspective. A little wind screen pops up in front , keeps wind from blowing in.
Once again, nice vid. Its nice to see someone doing evaluations who knows about trucks. I definitely think you could be much more technical I doubt you would loose the audience. Questions like why a 6 cyl diesel is sometimes better than an 8 cyl. engine even though its slower. Go get a trailer that weighs 15 to 20,000 lbs and run it for real. Tell us what your impression of the steering is like since you are driving a solid front axle truck, and tell us why the Ford and the Ram are better trucks for not having I.F.S. Tell us why low end torque is better with the 6 than the explosive power of a V8. Like I said I seriously doubt you'd lose us as an audience. Any how, nice vid...😎
The tow mirrors bit was mint 👌
freakin' mint!
'effing MINT!!
I have been looking at many many trucks for towing a fifth wheel in my retirement. I want a 20,000# minimum towing capacity. So far it seems the FORD F350 diesel dually has the best options for serious towing - lane changing, cameras, power. Let me know your honest opinion.
Holy grail is a 2000 (built in 9/99) sport package quad cab cummins 5 speed manual 4x4 with 90k miles, west coast owned which my Bro has. But I've never been a fan of Mexican made trucks so I will stick with Ford or better yet GM with ALLISON trans.
That truck is really nice inside, just wish it sounded like a diesel.
My old 5.9 has a 4.10 axle and feel that it is just too low for highway driving. My engine is running at over 2500RPM when cruising down the interstate at 80. Now granted, oversized tires help that, but with 500hp, I never felt like I needed that low of gearing when towing my trailer and dozer, which weigh 24,000 pounds.
my 2006 5.9 has a gcwr of
my 2006 5.9 Dooley 3500 with 3.73 gearing has a gcwr of 21000 pounds. this means with an 8000 pound truck my trailer should weighmax 13000 lb. not sure how your truck safely pulls a 24000 pound trailer
I promise I am not trying to be a smartass. How do you feel mine is overloaded?
Love my Ram.. But i'm one who loves my sunroof also.. And it's funny how some thinks the higher hp engine is somehow different than the lower hp engine, but all you have to do is reprogram the lower hp engine, and you will have the higher output.. I got a programmer for my 2014, 2500 4x4 Laramie Crew Cab, and got 75 more hp. And it has different settings, and on the economy setting, if i get on the highway and keep it at 60mph. i can get 25mpg. easy..
Not anymore... 21-22 are all set to rock on
Think I saw a 17 last year that was whisper quiet with no trailer. First time I saw a nice one in person. An old man that had more money in his boots and hat than I made all year. Shots depressing. But all I gotta do is work and save..
Would have liked to see you review this truck with a load on it!
Great review as always, I'll be in corpus this weekend maybe I'll see you driving around!
That's a beautiful truck. I did notice the dealer you visited had a lot of jeep wranglers. Would you mind testing out one of the new JL wranglers and giving your opinion? Also I live in an area that gets frost heaves in the winter...how does this truck ride over irregularities in the road. I owned a 3500 ram dually 2004 model in the past and when it was empty it literally would give you a back ache when traveling over roads with heaves for several hundred miles.
Nice looking truck. I am not sure why they continue using those mirrors when 10 out of 9 customers hate them. Crazy with the gear ratio's. As i've got older, the more I dislike sunroofs, think my tolerance level for it has dropped(sun and heat). My titan doesn't have one and glad for it.
The "real" heavy duty trucks (4500 & 5500) are actually de-tuned with significant decrease in HP & torque for longevity.
I wish these had a 13 or 18 speed transmission, a sleeper, and a working truck bed.
I was wondering were you found the chart you showed that tells the weight and towing capacity by gear ratio. That could help me set up my truck when I go looking for it.
if your pull and trailer the ford step is useless and you can get a bumper step for 180 to 240 bucks to put on the corner of the bumper that you can use now matter whats behind you truck. Cummins has had more time to work out the bugs and problems with the def systems because they have been dealing with them a lot longer on class 8 trucks before the where even putting them on HD pick ups. but the ford mirrors are differently better.
Really almost all the steps are useless if you have a trailer connected. I crawl over the dually fender when messing with the trailer connection. Also, DPF is the problem with all desiel engines regardless of their experience with it. (www.equipmentworld.com/cummins-hit-with-60m-lawsuit-by-fca-over-defective-emissions-system-in-ram-pickups/)
I think the 2019 RAM 1500 looks like a cross between a current Chevy/GMC and a Tundra and it appears to have gotten the worst of both. Love the center stack inside though. Also, as a side note my 2016 RAM 3500 has the Aisin (pronounced like raisin not icing) and doesn't have the rear diff cover with heatsinks. But I have the SRW and it may only come on the duallies.
I agree. How bout them 2020s. Gotta be in TX with those interstate frontage roads?
So just to let you know I did a price and build on as close to this truck as I could get. In Ontario Canada. So it comes out to in Canadian dollars $83 250. This is not counting freight and administrative charges by the dealer which if you are not careful can be $1200. But wait comrade our wonderful government has not got their cut. With a HST Harmonized Sales Tax (Hurt and Screw Tax) of a messily 13% it ends up at $94 072 .50 Canadian which is $73477.43 US. But ...not so fast just to keep you in the loop the price of diesel in my area is $1.23 a liter which is $3.64 US a gallon. Isn't socialism great!!!
Sorry about that my Canadian comrad
It still needs about 10K upgrades from Banks to let out and realize the power it Should already have, but is not present until it is unlocked!
Nice yet needs work.
My 2013 Ram has the Aisin HO setup and it has some serious turbo lag. Especially after a brief stop. It is the first year for this generation and It would figure that they have refined things performance wise. The styling hasn’t been tweaked, save for that “PIG NOSE” grill they put on some models, and the interior is as good as I’ve seen in any truck which is probably why the 2018 Laramie interior is identical to my 2013. It isn’t Mercedes’s Benz luxury but it’s not that far off.
I’m not a fan of FCA and the way they treat their customers. They screwed me hard on a failed recall part that caused an extra $1500 in damages when it failed that FIAT/CHRYSLER Auto refused to pay..
I don’t know if GM or Ford are any better these days. Big business seems to do whatever they want anymore.
