In the old days, if someone had a secret they didn't want to share... you know what they did? They went up a mountain, found a tree, carved a hole in it, and whispered the secret into the hole. Then they covered it with mud. And leave the secret there forever.
The tears just start rolling down my face less than 30 seconds into the track. When I watch the actual movie scene, I'm full-on snot bubble crying. All this as a grown man.
This is BEYOND BEAUTIFUL!!! Edit: as Victor Hugo said, "melancholy is the happiness of being sad." Saw this quote on another song via the guidance of algorithms.
+loveandcatastrophes I feel something like that. It's really sad. :/ This song makes me feel lifeless, like if it steals my breathing and I can't do anything to avoid it.
It’s a music of non-attachment, listening to this song is what you would feel if everything in your body capable of feeling love and affection for another human being has suddenly been turned off. Without love there is nothing else but the connection of your body and the earth, it’s liberating but extremely somber and something I personally wouldn’t wanna be in. I feel this tune encapsulates the hermit archetype which is common in buddhism.
@fz8376 this is by composer Michael Galasso so you may enjoy other works he composed. His album Scenes is good. Philip Glass's 3rd string quartet would probably do you well also. And, considering this is very cello-heavy, I'd also recommend cello works by Leo Ornstein and Ernest Bloch. Enjoy and take care!
Lucky you that you haven't seen it. I wish I could watch it again like for the first time. It is in my opinion one the best movies ever made. It's the second part of a trilogy with the first part being "Days of being wild" (1990) and the last part being "2046" (2004). Each movie is independent of the others and can be watched separately, but there are some subtle connections between them.

This ending broke my heart for three straight days. I couldn't get over it.

This is what a breaking heart sounds like

yes , it's also the obsession of time passing.
Why do I love films that make me feel pain?
Same here
because they r accurate to our life
Yes why ?😁
Because you are real and deep
Tell me something to watch.
This part struck the depth of my soul with something very akin to depression.

I can’t even listen to this without getting emotional
Tears my soul apart
There's something really sad and dark and deep about this song. Like dreaming of being alone on a deep seabed of the ocean.
Have you watched the movie? This song plus the scene make is so somber and depressing. But so beautiful at the same time.

The same sound seems more saddening after you know this belongs to ITMFL. This movie is a piece of art.
absolutely heartbreaking.
دنیای زیبا و غمگین عشق
Musique intemporelle, immatérielle, qui calme et apaise, et plane au-dessus de l'âme.
