Thanks for this interview
My all-time favourite point guard. I modelled my game after him. I met him once briefly in 2016 right before game three of the NBA Finals. I can’t wait to for March 7.
That 04 Pistons Championship did so much for us in the city of Detroit. It gave us all a surge of confidence and hope that was needed at the time in our city. Much love and respect Chauncey. That entire 04 team is like a blood relative to every Detroit resident that shared that moment with y’all. Also, I hurt every time I think about that Darko over Melo draft pick, the agony man lol
What was happening in the city them times?
@@ceo8679 It was kinda gloomy on the sport scene (Red Wings won but no disrespect, hockey is a Canadian sport that doesn’t garner the bragging rights nationally amongst American Sports Fans like winning a NBA, NFL, or MLB Championship) and also the city in general, including the downtown area, was not a desirable destination.
Once the 2004 Pistons won, it was definitely a surge of confidence (we were in the finals again in 2005 and in contention until losing in the ECF against the Cavs), and in 2006 the Tigers were in the World Series, and in 2007 we hosted the Super Bowl and our city’s of decades of long overdue revitalization began.
Not really only thing keeping Detroit from being Mexico is little ceaser
@@notpolygraphk1991 “ceaser” as in “cease,” which would translate to “stop/discontinue” or in the context that you spelled is would be “stopper”(ceaser).
But it’s likely that you thought you were correctly spelling “Caeser” as in “Little Caesars.” (Instead of hanging out on CZcams and failing at spelling and attempting to be funny, visit other websites that will help you spell correctly and with funnier jokes.)
This is a fact! I remember the feeling that night and hearing all of the celebration going on in the streets that night. What a time to be alive.
Ben Simmons on JJ’s podcast this morning, now Chauncey on ATS in the afternoon. TODAY IS A GRRRREEEEEEAAAAAATTTTTTT DAY!!!
Ben Simmons is an embarrassment

Chauncey so laid back. His tone ain change once the whole interview 😂😂😂😂
NOT ONCE
That’s why his nickname is “smooth” lol. Has it tatted on him
Chauncey played laid back too. Cool than a mug 😂
A true point guard. I see why he became a coach. Good dude
Chauncey’s Whole Swag & Demeanor Is Straight OG…Dude Is Really As Cool, Calm & Collected As It Gets!
I love how Chauncey and Sheed both would pick their Piston team as their best starting 5
As a die hard Pistons fan since the mid 80's, I've been waiting on this!
ok cool
As a lifelong die Hard Lakers fan, I hate this shit😡… but I’m gonna watch it

😂😂😂 I know the feeling. Y'all are. 1-2 against Detroit in the Finals.
I feel the same way you do whenever someone brings up the Bulls. I will NEVER forgive Jordan for what he did to my Bad Boys
Yes sir
@@DiaAkin should have been 0-3. I'm still salty about 88.
Shout out to Mr Big Shot, Chauncey Billups! Much respect to the Pistons legend.
Not to smoke or drink after winning the chip? Chauncey is truly disciplined.A real pro.Played the game the right way.Im glad he clarified that Pitino didn't mess up his career.I ALWAYS thought Pitino was the issue early in his career.Another great guest and interview.Matt and Stack doing it!!!
Bruh he was charged of rape case. What kind of discline are you talking about?

@@kemalmighty2288 Okay.Thanks I learned something new.
It's good to see Stak doing the heavy lifting with the interviewing in this episode. It definitely gives the podcast a refreshing feel. He's really grown as an interviewer. Looks really comfortable out there.
And shout out to Matt for taking a back seat and empowering Stak to take the lead.
Definitely the 2nd half of the interview. Feel like Matt got the conversation going in the 1st half
Matt used to do well but now he just won't shut tf up, and Stak is as dull as it gets. This show is only good because of the guests.
Jermaine Oneil would still be in prison if his foot didnt slip on that punch he threw at that fan. Dude almost killed a man lol
I still think it was justified though🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Definitely wish this guy would have gotten a second ring with the Nuggets back in 2009, still one of my favorite players to date. Cerebral, big and polished. Great guy as well.
Nah, that was Kobes
@@booboo4ever24 No it wasn't, Carmelo don't play no defense, he locked up Kobe a couple of possessions, if he would have put that type of work in the entire series, and JR was more consistent plus us not making mistakes, we could have won.
@@curiouslymavismade whole lotta ifs. If Kobe wasn’t that dude then y’all woulda won clear and simple. It was Kobe’s revenge on Chauncey for ‘04
@@thechamp1063 Bro, Kobe was that dude his ENTIRE career, that had nothing to do with it. He lost to the Spurs in the playoffs in 2003, San Antonio won that year, lost to the Suns in 2006, and lost to the Celtics in 2008. He lost to teams that played great as a TEAM. We could have won THAT year.

People don't say it but Ron wanted no parts of Ben. I saw game live

🤣🤣😂😂FACTS! remember that shit like yesterday. When it really was Detroit vs EVERYBODY
Great job again Matt & Staks. Chauncey Billups one of the most underrated player's of all time that does not get enough credit for what he did in his career n for what he did in NBA history. Luved him when he was in Detroit where he led the Pistons to win their 3rd championship in Pistons history. I luved his game n his leadership. Thanks Chauncey for what u did in ur career in NBA history. Thanks again Matt & Staks. Luv ur show n I usually wait til u guys get on UTube since I don't have cable. God Bless n Continue to strive for more on ur show.
"When we make it, the whole hood makes it." My passion and mission as well. Much love and respect to the King of the Hill! PH4L💯

One hell of a person, player, guest and all the rest of the titles that man carries!! Thanks for giving us a more inside look of Mr. Big Shot!! Billups will always be one of my favorite players from the game as well as my home city! = )
"maybe you need to have a got damn drink"-Matt Barnes. Clllaaasssiiiccc!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Met Chauncey twice when he played here for the pistons. He always so chill and nice
One of my favorite players EVER!! Big Shot! I been waiting for this one!
Chauncey Bi- Bi- Bi- Bi- Billups!!! Probably my favorite intro ever for a player and it was all from the Palace of Auburn hills. What a goddamn legend. Kids look up to this guy right here he knows what's up
Never forget when I was working at wedneys off university Blvd by DU and Big Shot pulled up lol I got his autograph on a envelope. Salute Mr. Colorado
Bump into Chauncey many times @ DTW. Real cool guy, Personable & down to earth.
I remember seeing him at Sweetwater Tavern in Downtown Detroit shortly after he was traded here. He was sitting a few spots down from us at the bar with another dude (this was before he was a household name and recognizable in the city unless you were a serious basketball fan like me and my guys were).
I remember he was in a Pelle with some Cartiers (which was the style back then) and my homie and I acknowledged him and his partner, and chopped it up about basketball briefly…Chauncey and his homie was really cool.
Then after winning the championship in 2004, a quiet guy I worked with who also worked in the Palace told me that he was at a crowded Buffalo Wild Wings and Chauncey came in with many people swarming him. He says Chauncey noticed him and came to where he and his friends were and talked for awhile and left after getting his food. He said after that, girls were suddenly interested in them 😂
Yoo these manscape ads are wild y’all be saying some pretty wild shit 😂😂💯
Please get Ben Wallace next!

Home town hero! Appreciate everything Chauncey’s done, not only for the game, but for city as well! One of the Best Role Models out of Colorado!
Mr. Big Shot always calm and cool. I can see why he became a coach never rattled just get the job done. Always respected his game. Glad after his playing days was over he was able to get a coaching job. Wish him all the luck in the world up in Portland. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 interview fellas
Thanks for getting Smooth (His Denver nickname) on the show! I too am from Park Hill...Our parents were good friends and his father (called everyone Chief) and mine would bring us along as kids while they ran the courts. Denver legend.
i can’t help but smile ear to ear hearing good / great nba vets causally sit and talk and jus air it out and have a good time. especially when they look back at playing against eachother and the banter comes out. makes you love the game even more.
Billups has to have a record of being traded in each of his first three years:
1998 - Toronto for Kenny Anderson
1999 - Denver for Morris Peterson
2000 - Orlando for Oliver St Jean
2001 - signed as a FA w/ Minnesota

Detroit Legend. Royality.

As a die hard Detroit fan, I have to say you guys really dropped the ball. Between Rip, Sheed , and Chauncey u guys never asked about the 2005 series with the Spurs. That's the behind the scene I really want because that should have been a back 2 back
Exactly 💯💪🤞🏼 dey b too high
Yeah I was thinking the same thing in would have loved to hear about the 05 finals, and also the 2006 season which isn't talked about much because they had the best record in franchise history and didn't make the finals
Great interview as always guys. Chauncey is a real one. Definitely an underrated player in my opinion. Very smart, hard worker, and clutch. I’m excited to have him as my teams head coach. I think Dame going to have his best season. Let’s get it Rip City!
When you goin to get Dame on? I’ve been waiting for that. I thought after CJ came on, Dame wouldn’t be far behind.
You can tell this man loves the game and he plays it to WIN. Always rooted against Detroit when they played against the Lakers and Spurs in the finals but I got a lot of respect for this man and that team.
When the pistons traded him I cried as a kid
As much as I admired Iverson for what he did in Philly I wasn’t excited about Iverson coming here at all.
Iverson as a player represented everything Detroit wasn’t, which was a one-man show. Even before his first game he was complaining about not starting when Rip Hamilton had already proven to be a championship starter in this very organization…despite all of that, Rip volunteered to allow Iverson to start in order to keep friction within the organization down.
Damn. Chauncey's always great. Respect. He's right too. That Pistons team was full of guys like him. Solid.
That 04 pistons team that beat the lakers in 5 for the chip is an all time great team!!!!!
If Rasheed Wallace was on the team on 2k23, I would punish with that team
@@ryandavis6245 tayshaun need to get added too

I love the content from All The Smoke. It helps me get a better perspective and understanding of the game and the mindset of my favorite players!
Craaaazyyyyyy !! I watching Chauncey highlights All summer 👌🏾 Mr. Mf Bigshot ❗️
I can just tell this forsure: he is a real one, he belongs in the kobe era that grit and grind generation
This was great I loved every second of this. I personally wish we got some more insight on the 2005 NBA finals, as well as the franchise record season 2006 where they didn't even make the finals
A true leader on the floor that leads by example.
Yaaaasss! Mr. Big Shot from the
"Go To Work" Pistons! Grrrrreat Show Yall. 🏀🏆🥇💖👍
Chauncey is definitely one of my heroes. But I want to hear his perspectives a bit beyond just hooping... leadership etc

Big shot Chauncey, Detroit legend
Thanks for the show !
Another great show! I'm so happy to see athletes do well after their playing days end.
2004 Pistons were my favorite team of all time. I’ll always remember that tag line“Men at Work”. That’s what made them so great, no superstars, just a cohesive unit that could outwork everyone. Chauncey was the general, wouldn’t have worked without him. Awesome to see him as a coach now, it’s a natural progression.
I Always looked up to my big cuz much respect for finally getting him on here
Man shout to Matt Barnes...He helping all his friends to get in , and get that bread...1995 McDonalds was the best..it could have been better, if Iverson was able to play...
Chauncey was nice as a PG! All the best to him as a coach. As for Junior Bridgeman, most of the people watching this too young to actually see him play. He was solid as a player. He wasn't an All Star but he got the job done. As usual, good show!
Michael Bivins smooth..Mr Big Shot...amazing no drinking..no smoking...and yet still so chill....The Mayor
A more than a mile high of respect for the Denver /Park hill legend smooth billups
I love the knowledge that Matt and Stack drop on folks.
One of the best yet! Maybe the best. Great job!
Man I’ve been wanting to see Big Shot for years. He’s never gotten the pub he earned in my opinion . Outside of Zeke and Steph only 6’3 and under guy to truly lead his team to a chip. It’s rare and it takes a different type of Dog frfr. Great to get a look at his mindset and approach to the pursuit of greatness. Respect and Love To you guys and your team ✊🏾
All 3 had great depth coaching and defense around them
@@brendanbloom3366 Yeah that can be said about most if not all Championship teams good role players, defense and coaching are always a piece of the pie so didn’t think it needed to be said
After Jordan, Chauncey has been my favorite player I rooted for. Bounced from team to team, found a home & was an absolute beast! Mr. Big Shot, great leader.

Hearing Chauncey break down what they saw in the Lakers during the 2004 Finals makes me want to watch the game film back and see for myself. Couldn’t stop RIP on the pindowns? Can get a good shot whenever they wanted to? I need to do some research lol

Had to watch the highlights of the DET / LAL finals series before viewing this interview. The Best 5 Alive were all about biz, and they took care of the LAL clean and swiftly, shutting down the most potent offense of that time with Shaq and Kobe, and of course Billups and Hamilton (hometown hero) were all over the place.
