  • We got a golf cart! In this video we begin working on an electric golf cart that my friend Blake got. We clean about 10 years of dust off of it as well as attempt to bring the batteries back to life. Once we rigged up some temporary batteries we were able to take it around the block. After that we began to tear it down in order to get it ready for paint.
*Be sure to check your local laws before driving any non-registered motorized vehicle. Do not attempt these activities at home. All content produced by Build Break Repeat is for entertainment purposes only.*
All the cart needs now is some paint and new batteries.
Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe for part 2!

Nice Find! Looks like a Ezgo TXT I have one gas powered with a 244 Polaris engine for now. Building a turbo V twin for it as we speak. Invest in a good set of speed gears! Being it's not going to be pulling 2 fat tubs up a hill fully loaded with beer and golf clubs! So they have so much more potential for turning the power into speed! Just my 2 cents after building my own. Good luck guys!

That battery terminal was melted off from a loose connection that arcs. Lots of amperage being pulled. Basically becomes a temporary welder. I use stainless steel lock washers and stainless steel nut on the battery studs with 2 gauge cables. That combo never comes loose.

When charging golf cart batteries you have to charge them all at the same time and bring them up together cause you are charging 36 volts not individual 6 volt
It will run charging them separately but it won’t last long and it will only have half the power and that is what burns shit up on the cart

the battery with the melted terminal can still be repaired and used. There's a flat surface area next to the terminals on the batteries that is for making a replacement terminal connection. By drilling a hole for a bolt to be screwed into is how its done I've done it many times , drill the hole sized for the bolt , screw on a nut onto the bolt and put the connecting wire on the battery terminal the screw the bolt into the hole to hold the wire. once the bolt is snug tighten the connection via the nut that was put on 1st and badaboom you got a repaired battery terminal.
