Visiting Stokesay Castle

We visited Stokesay Castle the day before my youngest sons 16th birthday. It is a castle he has loved for as long as any of us can remember. It is a fortified manor house, but well worth the visit. It has an interesting history. It's final form is largely it's original 1290's form, with the addition of the gatehouse and the restructuring of the North Tower. Oh, and the posh solar too!
The top of the remaining south tower is a great place to watch passing trains. Lots of Transport For Wales trains.
