What a performance… Spent these few minutes purely for myself n was rewarded… Sons of Tufail Niazi, am a little elitist when it comes to music… Choice of word ‘baḍa’ (बड़ा بڑا ਬਡ਼ਾ) for cotton has added a few extra layers of meaning to the song… Loved the sweet rivalry between Amoos Khan (on Tabla) n Waheed (on Dholak)… Waheed is all ears fearing missing a note, doing his best to keep up with the pace n successfully… Amoos is all confidence having everything under control… Loved the passage of secret messages between the two whenever their eyes met… Waheed asking ‘kaisaa’, Amoos responding ‘good job, am impressed’… 💖

What i found great about this rendition, it does justice with its soothing, serene, melody, does justice to the melancholy, yearning of the poetry...
All other qawwali's like by Wadali Brothers, Farid ayyaz, are great but with its up beat and energy does express lose the emotions of the poetry...
Unfortunately we in West do not understand the language however we are blessed to be charmed by the time that has remained in us
