  • The most common words, sentences and phrases for everybody who would like to visit Turkey, start to learn the language or just to get to know its basics a little bit.
    It is a project of the Literature Course on Schiller Hight School in Münster.
    Easy Languages is a non-profit video project aiming at supporting people worldwide to learn languages through authentic street interviews. We also use this format to expose our street culture abroad and create a more diverse image of our countries. Episodes are produced in local languages and contain subtitles in both the original language as well as in English.

      rubickscube6666 As a native speaker of Turkish, if you think these are complex sentences then try this! "Muvaffakiyetsizleştiricileştiriveremeyebileceklerimizdenmişsinizcesine" (longest sentence of turkish by the time)

    Hey Everybody, I'm an american But i'm currently living in turkey because of my work. Most of this is very formal and you wouldn't hear it unless you were talking to somone that needs that much respect, the turkish are very understanding and humble people and they love to hear you try and speak there language ALOT speak slang aswell and that comes in handy because its easyier to say things. but good luck on learning turkish its a pretty easy language once you get the hang of it XD

    "Anladım" means "I understood.".
    "I don't understand" is "Anlamıyorum".

    It is so cool how many Turkish words are similar to Arabic words:
    hava is like hawa
    merhaba is like mar7aba
    insan is like insan
    tesekkur is like shukran or nushkur
    dunya is like duniye
    etc...

    I want more from this teacher! The story board lessons are good as well. I like the accent and it motivates me to listen/learn more. Common gimme more.

    I'm glad I FINALLY landed on this video, after viewing 5 others, that were SO badly done.
    This is SO helpful, and enjoyable to watch, great colour and teacher, and a LOT of good (relevant) information packed in together, excellent.

    I got used to all those words as I keep on hearing Turkish shows and series in their original language, I really love to learn language as it's important when you want to learn more about a culture and I'm interested in Turkish language and Korean one no matter how far this seems to be but those too cultures attract me that I really would like to travel and see them from close

    also with turkish, once you understand the grammar you can learn the rest very fast (it's not easy, but not as hard as say Arabic or other langauges) and it's ALL regular.

(there are words who are very similar... for example word. you- sen (turk.)- sinä (fin.), forget- unut (turk.)- unohtaa (fin.)- coffee- kahve (turk.)- kahvi (fin). village- köy (turk)- kylä (fin.) head- baas (turk.)- pää (fin.) etc etc)

    Please note that some words in this video are pronounced slightly different than the the way we speak in Istanbul, which is the base of modern-day Turkish. Maybe she's from somewhere else? I don't know

    there is not an easy way to learn to speak of any language. but in the beginning, you can learn greetings. by the way, you can save more time to other words. some languages have different pronounciations. but turkish read as its writing. let this be a hint for you :)

    I think she was born or grow up in germany because her Turkish is so strange and she tries to speak very formal that we never do in daily conversations in Turkey. We never say "bir taksiye ihtiyacım var" you have to say "taksi lazım "😁

    In my opinion, I would suggest you say first the English sentence is about, then you teach in Turkish, I suppose pple learn faster in ths way.     Since Turkish is a subject + object + verb language, and English a subject + verb + object language it may help viewers to place the English text under the Turkish text to show the meaning of the Turkish words and the subject + object + verb word order.

    haha, it's "wie viel" (how much) and "wie lang" (how long) :/ All those guys from "The Best of Languages" Projects are German students. They are all bilingual. They speak German and the language of their family as native speaker :)

    Turkish language is not hard, it is rules are clear and precise, it is considered the most regular language of the world, followed by Japanese, which means its rules are not violated for daily use. This means even if you learn little of it, you will most likely understand most of the things without memorizing expressions, clauses etc. You can even make your own words, for example tens of words can be made just using "eye" and combination of additions.
