Thank you, Annie and Andrea, for your musicianship and friendship!
Amazing...great musicians...
great work!!
Naja ,weiter Musik
And thank you, Ivan, for composing this.
It’s wonderful.
Malletech marimbas have the thickest bass it's wild.
wow, those are some of the most beautiful crotales I've ever heard
Thanks! They are Dream Cymbals Crotales, we like them too!
It took me at least 15 listens to realize that the melody is split at 5:30. What a challenging section. Well played.
The climax of this piece at 5:13 is such a musically satisfying climax
1:14 . Just. Wow. Blew my mind how beautiful and timeless this piece truly is. I've always loved the marimba and this piece makes me fall in love with it all over again. Fantastic piece.
This piece is absolutely amazing! The part at 5:40 blew my mind :D
I know this video is really old in internet years but I come back to it every year or so, just to remind myself how far this instrument can be taken, so I never become complacent in my playing or lose inspiration. Honestly this is one of those things that keeps me going, and I cannot thank you guys enough for just being incredible at what you do.
For all the incredible musicianship and artistry on display here, remember that someone had to *write* that amazing piece. And people say "serious" music is finished. No.
Musical ideas are running out. Listen to "catching shadows" and "into the air" by ivan trevino. They aren't exactly the same but they have similarities throughout all of them. Ideas are running out.
@@chrisg6492thats just cause ivan writes like that, hes a drumset player so he has very similar ideas
@@Cube-sb9tp but the point is, musical ideas are running out. They really are. Every new song is another melody that has been taken. Less and less melodies are available to write as time goes on. Write music while you still can. Everyone should take advantage of it.
3:29 Now THAT is hard. Hah. This is by far the trickiest Trevino piece I've heard so far.
lol and that's saying something #catchingshadows. I know like the very beginning part of catching shadows M2, but other than that, yeah no.
That's exactly what I thought as soon as I reached that spot too: Holy crap, how do you DO that? By being a professional percussionist, I guess.
not that hard honestly
this makes me wanna cry. I love being part of the humans!
Except when someone like Trump gets next to you and pretends to be your friend just so he can get every penny out of you short of making you die of hunger.
rly...someone makes a comment about how they love the human race because of the music we are able to produce and you decide to bring politics into it? Just enjoy the music and leave politics behind
Mike W Sounds like something a not Human would say
Lmao “I love being part of the humans” 😂😂
Beaing a human suck sometimes.
SO amazing. I hope I get the chance to play this before I graduate!
Love this piece and the performance! Wonderful players as always. Can't wait to finish learning this.
Feeling inspired while listening to this! Thank you for the wonderful performance!
Brilliant and inspiring (the composition and the performance). Thank you!
Absolutely amazing performance. Would've never thought that crotales and marimba would go so well together.
Reminds of Rainbow in Curved air, adding conversations beautiful and dramatic, sweet and harsh. Beautiful...
This is absolutely beautiful! I am left speechless by this amazing performance. Hopefully I may one day learn this piece.
It is a great pleasure to watch you playing. I enjoy every second.
This gave me goosebumps. Outstanding performance.
i loved every second of it...just phenomenal in everyway...amazing sounds and everything
In the right hands, these instruments are magically beautiful. Thank you for sharing your music.
This is so soothing and intense, I love it!
Incredible stuff! Literally breathing and moving as one, just brilliant.
2:01 proves how much these players understand the piece. The professor at the right is bold enough to add another note filling that silent gap.
very beautiful!. It's a wonderful performance!!
My soul has wings. Thank you.
What a fantastic piece, and such amazing musicianship. I really enjoyed meeting both you at the Hampton Wind Ensemble concert tonight.
Thank you for introducing me to some really great music, both live and on your CZcams channel.
Thank you so much for the kind words and support Gordon - and for checking out more of Ivan's music!
What a wonderfull masterpiece. Beautiful.
This is so much better than any other pieces that I've ever heard. This has my imaginations running wild!!
So beautiful, such skill. Astounding.
this is really well done
amazing job, you two
Magical, simply magical.
BEAUTIFUL
This is just such and over-the-top beautiful piece.
Your performance of it takes us to some fantasy magical world Andrea, Annie. Thank you for your performance,
-Stephen, from Edmonton, Canada
Nothing like the sound of Malletech
This is awesome! Great work!

Oh that makes more sense. The video was on 1.25x speed
xnotx123 lol
Looking for a percussion piece performed by women I found this incredible jewel. My students say thank you 😊 and I say gratitude. I hope many people can enjoy from your gift.
Why do you care what their gender is
@@jacobbass6226why are you so sensitive about it
Two bodies - one mind. Wonderful.
this is beautiful!!
Thank you!
this is a really musical performance! congrats all.
Son increíbles, las amo tantooooooo!!!
Beautiful
beautiful playing
Absolutamente bella esa música!!
I got so happy when you started playing each others sharp bars :D
Wonderful!
Nice performance. Also, that is a dope set of crotales.
Only discovered this yesterday. If I could like ti more than once, I would. Wonderful music. I'm particular fond of the part between 2.29 and about 3.00
Still strong in 2020! 👏👏👏👏
A-MA-ZING! :D
Greetings from Brasil!
Sublime!
My God! This piece is so hard (pause)!
Bravo!!!

Really unfortunate tuning on that B-flat crotale! Great recording regardless!
im new in Marimba music but this make me feel high
Bad ass
Does anyone feel that at times this would make the coolest EDM trance track?
Those basses at 5:13 are addictive ... Played with such precision and musical feeling at the same time ... World class performers. I've seen many versions of this piece, and none come close to this one ! (only thing: can it be that some of the crotales are a bit out of tune?)
what an awesome piece! I heard it in recital today and had to come find this. Can anyone tell me what the title refers to?
It refers to glass blowing - Ivan was inspired by a residency at the Corning Museum of Glass in NY - and 2300 Degrees is the temperature where glass melts and can be transformed!
in a way is sounds like mickey hart from grateful dead circa 1985. but there is no looping and no delay. this is very kool.
Gives me frisson.
Excellent performance! And you did that in heels too?? Wow!
Gotta stay on your toes ;)
Klasse Technik
Ja Marimba !👍
What Mallets are they using? Is that the CH14 Chamber?
CH14s and CH8s
@@AndreaVenet Were the 14s on the right and 8s on the left hand. Or just one 8 on the far left?
@@christophermerida8071 3 14s RH - 1 8 in bottom!
What mics are being used?
looks like c414s
What is the make of that accessory rack with the crotales?
Jedes kluge Kind hat einen Ton!
So where can I buy your music?

Hello! We have released our latest album through Ravello Records called 'Our Favorite Things' which includes 2300!
Mallets?
which mallets are you two using in this video?
They look like the Malletech Chamber series. I use that series. They are great mallets!
I am aware that the mallets are the Malletech chamber series, I just don't know which exact ones their using
They look like CH14s from what i can tell.
Hi ! We are using CH14s and CH8s :)
Such a fabulous performance of a beautiful work !! If you want to check out a different version check this one out czcams.com/video/meTFz_2Qu98/video.html

So sorry I accidentally was the 22nd thumbs down ! (Meant to give three million thumbs ups!!)
ONE WEEK WITHOUT TP.
i dislike it
why
@@chrisg6492 I think that I thought it wasn’t very compositionally interesting. Maybe I thought the good dynamics didn’t compensate enough for the lack of variety. or something
@@potatogod7771 How is it not compositionally interesting? It takes a lot of work to compose something like this. I'm sad you don't notice how good this composition is.
@@chrisg6492 you might be right, I agree that a piece like this can require a lot of work and talent to make. but music is meant to tap into ones emotions. and the feeling I get from hearing this is that it tries a little too hard, I suppose
