Although I do agree that there were probably more qualified SS for the NL All Star game, there's no denying the All-Star future that Addison Russell has because he's only 22! Thus, he's not even near the typical prime years of basebell (28-30) and he's doing what he's doing. There's no doubt in my mind that Russell will be an All-Star in years to come and then no one will be complaining about those appearances then!

Lindor and Bogaerts hit for a higher Avg, but they're not the power hitter Russell is... 19HRs /88 RBIs... They both have played more games than Russell, and he still leads them in power numbers... Fielding they're equal...

Slow your role pal. Russell isn't even close to being the best player on the Cubs. That title belongs to Kris Bryant you know the reigning NL MVP award winner and NL Rookie of the Year winner just two years ago. Anthony Rizzo isn't too shabby either. Russell has a long way to go to even be considered the same caliber of player that Bryant and Rizzo are. Yes he has the talent, but first he needs to become a more complete hitter if you want to make a comment as bold as that.
