Peg - Hi honey, did you miss me?
Al - With every bullet so far! 😂
💯
A classic
One of the best sitcom lines ever
I say this to the Mrs every so often
This is the line that always sticks with me. Great delivery, too.
"Pretty Woman make us buy beer....Ugly women make us drink beer" 😄 🤣
My friend and I crack up at that one every time. And we don't even drink beer, it was just funny
Can they do that? Sue on behalf of the ugly? I got four words for ya. Attorney General Janet Reno. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly
I liked Marcy's retort: "... and if you were any more of a pig, kids could put quarters in your back!"
Kelly - "Daddy beat him up."
Al - "Of course Pumpkin."
The movie theatre episode is my favorite episode. I could only hope to be a great father like Al when Kelly said that.
Fun fact: David Boreanaz (Buffy/Bones/Seal Team) played the guy Al beat up.
Marcy walks in holding a chicken. "I didn't know you were expecting" 😂😂😂😂
"How dare you say that to my face!"
"Well, I'd say it behind your back, but my car's only got half a tank of GAS!" My favorite Al Bundy line 😂
Can you explain this line to me?
And?
@@petergriffin513 it took me a while to get it. It refers to an obese woman shoe customer being so large that he would need to drive to get around to her backside, but that his car wouldn't be able to make it because it only has a half a tank of gas.
I had heard that line about 20 times before I understood it.
Al to Marc how to improve her attractiveness.
''Shave back of your head, tattoo Cindy Crawford's face. Learn to walk backwards''
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns Ohh. lol. Now it makes sense. Thanks a lot for the explaination!
Love the fact that Ed owns Al Bundy, never tried to distance himself from the character.
Al Bundy we need him in 2024
This world needs him, truth!
The world needs more Al Bundy and less Ned Flanders
@@lylebaierlein419 Amen! Good one 🙏🤣
Agreee!
And Patrice O'Neal.
Must be something to that O'Neal name, regardless of spelling. Poking holes in hypocrisy and promoting fun over feelings.
This gentleman is considered to be one of the biggest stars in TV history and still Ed O’Neil is CRIMINALLY underrated.
I do not think he is. He saw a lot of success on Modern Family. I think he has gotten his nut in life. Everyone loves him and it is really tough to get just one great show, and he has had two highly successful shows.
He is not under-rated ! That's why he is still working well into his 60s !!! He is super talented.
"That bastard! Guys like that deserve what they get!"
"He's getting your wife!"
"Let the punishment fit the crime!" 😅
That's a great line
Fun fact: Pete was played by the voice of Homer Simpson
😂😂😂
"Let me get this straight......pardon the expression".
"You cook, work, and love sports? .... I love you!"
Peg - I kinda see myself in a Jaguar.
Al - Oh, if only we could find one that hungry.
The one where his uncle died and Jefferson comes over, sits down beside him, and says “Sorry to hear about your uncle, Al …. do you wanna go have a beer?”, and Al replies “maybe later, after you’re gone.”
Nerds, nerds, nerds, nerds!
I can listen to these Married with Children stories ALL DAY😂
Married with Children isn't a comedy show, it's a documentary. Thank you for the series.
I thought it was gross and crude when I was a kid. Now I think it was meant as a satire that ironically attracted the fans it was making fun of.
“I never wanted to get married, I got married. I never wanted to have kids, I got two. What the hell happened to me!”
Please get counseling
He's quoting the show
One of my most favourite shows as a kid . Man I loved married with children
“Marci, let me explain something to you in your language…cluck cluck, cluck cluck cluck cluck..” dead 💀 😂
One of my favourite lines is when Marcie turns up at the door with a chicken on a plate, and Al says "I didn't know your were expecting" 🤣 absolute gold.
“Let’s Rock.”
"Bad To The Bone" starts playing.
Yes! He remembered my favorite one! “You need a Q-Tip?!”
Al Bundy is one of the greatest sitcom characters ever, period.
The episode with the supermarket competition is epic😂
that's 2 episodes
Marcy being ran over with the shopping carriage.
Ed O Neil needs to be more on the Rich Eisen show and talk about Married With Children because it is the funniest sitcom 🤣🤣🤣. Also I wish Ed would appear on First Take.
Peg-" Al, did u miss me?"
Al- "With every bullet so far." 😅
Their first Christmas episode is an all-time classic of dark humor.
You mean the one where Santa jumped out of the plane and his shoot didn't open and he landed in Al's back yard? If that's what your referring to that was a classic. That was one of the five top best with Steve Rhoads.
Love that episode one of absolute favourites! 😂😂😂
The Sam Kinnison episode was to absolutely criminal😅
@@sethwetzel974 Marcy : "Oh, my God, oh, my God"
Al : "will you keep her quiet?? We're trying to have a Christmas here!"
@@lsd8497 Thats a great one too!!!!! Thanks for reminding me!!!! LOL!!!!
It’s surreal to hear Ed talk about married with children after all these years , wow ! Thank you sir for all the laughter, the Bundy’s hold a special place in my heart!
"Some people don't find that funny", well those people are no friends of mine.
It's the generation that watched this show that loved it and still laughed today because we were raised to be tough
No were weren't. We were raised to be insensitive. Either way, makes the show funny AF.
@@someoneontheinternet3090 however you look at it we are the best generation 🤣
Still have my NO MA'AM shirt!
Al vs Spare Tire Dixon, best episode
My favorite episode is still The Egg and I when Steve returns. That was one of the funniest episodes I have ever seen. “AAAAALLLL! I’m blind too!” 😂
The Spare Tire episode is an all-time great. My friend and I quote it to this day. Al & Jefferson installing the satellite dish is also a great one.
Yeah, I cracked up bad as that as a kid. The part where Spare Tire goes in with the 2 fingers for the eye gouge and Al stops him with his hand in between the two fingers with the music playing.
Why'd they call him spare tire? Was he fat?
No. Because he wore one around his neck on chain. l😂
"They say he ran away Branded but you're still a man." I love that part in the episode when he's walking down the hall with the old Chuck Connors song.
from my favorite episode - "expired drivers licence, why cant a marriage licence do that"
GREATEST. SITCOME.
Best line ever from Al Bundy and the greatest ever line is at the shoe store and that big woman says ( how dare you say that to my face and Al comes back with I'd say it behind your back but my car only has a half of a tank of gas ) still to me the funniest line ever in TV history 🤣🤣🤣🤣 number 2 of course is when Peggy came home and asked Al ( did you miss me Al with ever bullet so far Peg ) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
There were a million of them, I just can't recall at the moment. Some of his insults toward Marcy were the best!

@@johns7530 Marcy, you know it's a crime to impersonate the kid from Home Improvement.
@@johns7530 Kid - "I want a balloon..." Al - "You've already got one..."
Yes! That "1/2 tank of gas" line is the funniest line of them all! I like to think that was Ed's favorite too, but he just didn't remember it when asked during this interview.
Great tv show the writing was funny AF
Al “4 Touchdowns in a single game” Bundy!
Shoestore customer: “Well I have bad just about enough from you.”
Al: “Well you wouldn’t say that if I came with fries and a medium drink.” 😅
"You'll be hearing from my attorney!"
"Is that the law offices of Haagen and Daz?" 😅
Al: “You know, medium. The size between small and you.”
“Anyway…… there was this stampede at the shoe store today…….”
My favorite clip is when Peg walks and goes "Hey Al, did you miss me?"
And Al goes, "With every bullet so far."
God that is a legendary show !!!!! Couldn't be made in today's world !!!! Everyone should watch Al Bundy's greatest insults ! Go Polk High
Peggy- "Al,do you know what I want?"
Al- "A chocolate couch?"
my favorite line was, "hey Peg, whats for dinner?" Peg tapped the toaster and said "Toaster Leavins"
"Nut n honey cereal?"
"I'd say it behind your back, but my car only has half a tank of gas!"
That's my favorite line :-).
Ed O Neil still has the voice of Al Bundy , everyone is laughing 🤣🤣🤣
WTF?? Of course he DOES, because that's HIS REAL VOICE
@@BARKER22-l4uha!!! I just said the same thing!
DERP!!!!
To me he is the best actor to ever be on TV and Al Bundy is a legend and will go down as a legend in American history
Bryan Cranston from breaking bad
I grew up on Married...With Children and believe you me when I say I get accused by so many for being inappropriate and not nice, but those who grew up on that sitcom know I'm a kind person who is just channeling that sense of humor, and those who don't need to develop some social and emotional intelligence to interpret complex characters.
"What's good enough for the cockroach is good enough for my family!" The Jim Jupiter episode, the healthiest man in Chicago😅
"And my Dodge quit running." A line said every day at least a million times.
I don't normally want this but I would DEFINITELY watch a Married w/ Children 2.0, with him as a grandfather.
Only if it was filmed in the same format and resolution, but update the aspect ratio. I hate how modern remakes of shows look so clean and artificial. Every set looks like a set.
The best sitcom ever made. Al bundy is legendary
When Al's wearing glasses and sees Peg's picture for the first time and goes "What The Hell Is This" 😂😂
Married with children got so much better after Ted McGinley joined the cast😁🤘🤘
Bingo!!
It got way more off the walls and I loved it
"No i don't gamble Al" "Steve, we are married man. WE ALL GAMBLE".
One of the things I have always appreciated about this program is the way the Bundys interact with each other. Despite their frequent disagreements and conflicts, they remain loyal to one another and are always willing to defend each other against outsiders.
My favorite line is:
Al: Holly molly, yikes and
gadzooks! Peg! Peg,it's gone.
Someone stole my car!
I can't believe it.
I lost my dodge. It's really,really
gone. Someone call the police!
Bud: What for?
The call costs more than the car.
Al: Yes,and it costs more than the condom I should have used on the night you were conceived!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A reboot would be great,
but this generation is too sensitive.
Good golly Ms MOLLY
Serving a sentence. 😂😂😂😂
"It's wrong but it's funny" - the whole point of the show. 👍
When Al and Peg are spying on Steve and Marcy and Marcy disrobes: "My eyes! I'm blind!"
Best episode was when reverend Al started the church of No Maam
Hope we get to see "Married... With Grandchildren" series or even a movie!!!
No no no! No damn reboots!
Knowing how much beef he and Amanda Bearse (Marcy) have in real life, just off the top of my head I remember a scene where she's berating him and he says "you're a chicken!". And it's not a line, but when he had to distract Marcy when Jefferson took her barbie and he had to share a bed with her. Marcy goes "Jefferson, scratch my back" ".......that's my chest". Then he makes the most disgusted face ever, that was hilarious.
Knowing that Ed and Amanda hated each other so much in real life makes watching their back and forth banter berating and insulting one another in the episodes that much funnier now.
You need counseling
The funny thing is. Amanda and Ed didn't initially hate each other from the start. Somewhere in like season 5 or 6. She accused Ed of being "lazy" and that started the war. Lol then their fake rivalry on screen turned into a real one!
@@TheFailedmessiah I thought he just really took it personal when she didn't invite him to her wedding.
@@aznnp77 nah. They had a falling out before that.
Grew up outside of Youngstown, Ohio.
And even though the show was set in Chicago, Mr. O'Neill always made the show feel like it was one of us, two streets over.
It was just the attitude, the delivery, the outlook NE Ohio had on a person's soul.
Like, whatever you did, you'll never escape.
Married with Children was a breath of fresh air, it was the first inappropriate family-show comedy of it's time. Everything else was family friendly like Cosby, Growing pains, Who's the boss, etc.
Yet Cosby himself was far from family friendly himself!
I related far more to married... With children. to me those other shows you listed were fake. Like yes families love each other but come on. Married with children was far closer to a real American family
Yeah, as if All in the Family never existed! How myopic about history people are.
@@cactaceous Yeah that was good to but I wasn't around in the 70s
@@cactaceous All in the Family came as its own fresh air a decade earlier, but the two shows are really pretty different. Their big point of overlap is that they both offended the sensibilities of people who wanted to watch The Brady Bunch in the 70s or Full House in the 80s.
But All in the Family was overtly political. It wanted to deal with serious topics other sitcoms wouldn't touch, and show a liberal and conservative angrily butting heads over these issue, with such great characterization, Archie and Meathead are both shown to have these liberal and conservative positions as a way to deal with their own personal insecurities. But at the core of it all, this was still a loving family. Archie had a lot of Al Bundy in him, but Edith had nothing but an innocent sweetness that is the polar opposite of Peg.
Married With Children was obviously heavily influenced by AITF; even the sets are color schemes are similar. But it's proud to have no political significance whatsoever. See, All in the Family affected all the sappy shows that came after it in the 80s, which started doing their own "issues episodes" where a kid would be faced with drugs or racism or whatever in a Very Special Episode of Diff'rent Strokes. MWC is reacting to this by declaring itself not socially relevant, not politically meaningful. Nobody learned anything, and the family really just stayed together out of inertia more than love. What this show put above all else was comedy. Not what matters, but what's funny. And it's not embarrassed about being raunchy or dumb; there's no shame in bringing a bunch of girls in bikinis onscreen for no real reason.
All in the Family is a show for Baby Boomers who believe in things; Married with Children is a show for Gen X-ers who believe in nothing.
Great interview. Love Al and Ed. One of the few shows where every time I saw an episode something in it made me laugh out loud.
When I move to Hollywood in February of 89 the biggest secret was you could walk down to Sunset Gower Studios stand in line to get tickets to see a Married with Children taping did that numerous times such fun Ed O'Neill Katey Sagal were awesome to watch
"Peg! My eyes! I'm blind! I saw your mother naked and I think my eyes were trying to protect my heart!"
“That’s low, son… It’s too low. You’ll be looking at knee caps from down there. Move it up, boy! Move it up!
Peg: "Well you haven't been very nice to my family."
Al: "Well neither has nature; go bother it." 😄
Peg: "Now Al, you know I don't ask much of you because I know how severely limited you are. But please do me a favor, and just say something to them."
Al: "Go home! 😆 Does that take care of it, Peg?"
Peg: "That's a nice start. Just show them that you care."
Al: "Go home and drive safely!" 😂
I love Ed O'Neill interviews because he's just as funny as himself as he is playing a character in a comedy.
“Don’t call me a TV in my own home! You’re a TV!”
Nice.
Hi honey. Did you miss me?
With every bullet so far.
That's one of my favorite quips.
“I see myself in a Jaguar.”
“If we can only find one that hungry.” 😂
" I always wanted to be a ballerina"
" well you sure are my nutcracker"
I actually USED that Al Bundy line as I was meeting up with a bridesmaid as we were performing the recessional in a friend's wedding. She was a semi-stalker of mine, and actually used the line, "Did you miss me?" as we approached each other.
Honestly, the words "With every bullet so far!" shot right out of my mouth before I even realized it. Oddly enough, the photo of the two of us - me, smiling and her, scowling - as we walked back down the aisle toward the photographer is the pic which the bride and groom agreed should be framed (aside from their actual bride/groom photo).
“You need a Q-Tip” & “Kelly You’re In The Will” 🙌🏾😅
Ed O'Neill is a legend.
This is all very interesting, but let's not forget:
In 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
Peggy thinks Al is cheating on her.
Al "honey why would I go out for milk, when I v'e got the cow at home?"
Al pulls in the garage...
"No breaks, no breaks, no breaks!"
Hollywood would mess up any kind of Married with Children reboot. Let it be a thing that happened in the 80s/90s and leave it alone.
Even vaguely remembering the lines is incredibly funny.
That actually a really good idea about a Grandfather with Children!!!! That would be so hilarious, it's has to be Ed O'Neil for the spin off or WONT BE THE SAME AT ALL
"Married with grandchildren" would be the bomb!
Not a bad idea.
My favorite line was “He’s my son…..don’t you think I know he stinks.” 😆
Bob Rooney : "but he stinks !"
Man I miss that show.
Al- “Who’s that riding into the sun?
Who’s the man with the itchy gun?
Who’s the Man who kills for fun?
PSYCHO DAD! PSYCHO DAD! Psycho Dad! Psycho Dad!
"What's that toilet got that I don't got?"
"A JOB!!"
To this day still one of my favorite shows, still cracks me up everytime!😆
*Living in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store*
Al: "i wonder what the poor people are doing"
Lmao I still use this line today
No way, the entire scene earlier with the stupid "Kaiser Air Cooling Blatz" is better.
I mean, who the F thinks that kind of stuff up?
LOL
Marci walks in with a chicken in a roasting pan. I says "Marci, I didn't know you were expecting".
Neighbor: Im having steak tonight, Bundy. What are you having?
Al: If i was mail man, it'll be your wife
Old librarian: Could it be that you don't have the $2000? Could it be that I was correct when I made an educated guess that you would fail in life?
AL: Could it be that the nails that hold your chair together are from the planet Krypton?
Ed O'Reilly is classic!
"Your meal ticket is home'"
"Greetings vultures, your meal ticket's here," 🤣
One of the best comedies
With family and truth......
And then there was the episode where Al Bundy goes to HELL...and it's a step UP!
Ed O'Neill was SO good in this sitcom; the writing was exceptional; don't know why folks call this a 'guilty pleasure', because: if you wanted to LAUGH, this was the program you watched. 😁😆🤣😂
"Some people dont like that" yea thats psrt of the reason its so funny 😂😂😂
My favorite part of Al was as much as he seemingly hated his family, he was fiercely loyal to all of them
I would 100% watch a new
Married with grandchildren
series if they created it.
The early episodes were the best. They were more realistic. Later, it became a cartoon.
Al to Peg "Why go out for milk when I have a cow at home" one of the greatest lines of all time
My favorite, link from the show, from a vague memory:
PEG: Al, what are you thinking?
Al: If I wanted you to know, I'd be talking.
I don't think enough people appreciate what might be the single greatest athletic accomplishment EVER.............Al Bundy scoring 4 TDs in a game for Polk High!
Mr Empty Pants, funniest ever!!
Ed was incredible as Al Bundy. Physical comedy at its best
Da best show!
Married with Children actually did have a moral message. They were all hilariously awful. They all deserved each other. And life repeatedly punished them for being awful.
