      @gothgirl4evr881 Před 7 měsíci +2

      Need to add Nadia. Both of them were what made me become a gymnast. Olga and Nadia were the beginning of modern gymnastics, when it went from more dance ballet graceful art that was performed by older 20-30 yr old women to the sport it is today. It opened the door to young girls doing athletic tumbling skills still mixed with dance, which despite how impressive the girls are today I think the peak of women's gymnastics was in the 70-80s and into the 90s. Since then it has lost so much of the ballet/dance and creativity that it used to have on both floor and beam and uneven bars were absolutely at its peak in those decades. Since the bars have become so far apart its lost way too much of its fluidity and movement between the bars. Athletes now all perform the same handful of skills in ask the events and it's focused more on power, strength, and speed. It's still incredibly beautiful but it has lost a lot of its freedom of the gymnast being able to show her own personal style.
      Which is one reason I used to love watching rock and roll gymnastics exhibitions they used to put on back in the 90s, where they weren't competing they had more lax rules and just went out and had fun showing off their skills, wish they still did those.
