Been trying to figure out why it was creepily familiar. Then I remembered that we were given custard that colour when I was at infants school in the early 80s!
Definitely a livery for radio.
Haha bet it would go down a treat nowadays!
Great that you stood up for the fun of the railway modelling, love your videos and very much enjoy listening to you. Well done carry on. Thank for your time.
Thanks Ralph, without fun it's not a hobby! :-)
Nice review on the Rainbow Railways BR Class 66 in the Ocean Network Express Livery
its a beauty!! love it ,thanks for sharing it! cheers, dave
Your welcome Dave!
I remember going out about 5 miles on my bike in the driving rain to get a photo of it on its first run! It wasn't a nice ride but it was worth it! Great video Richard :D
You'll have to share that photo on the New Junction facebook page! 😄
Great review as always Richard. Literally just looking at this beauty today on their website! Might have to get one of these
Don't hold out, they don't do maby per run
Great video as always Richard. That livery certainly stands out in the crowd lol.
Fits well, I just need some new containers to arrive
One of the best sounding and looking loco on your layout. The class 66 looks unique in a pink livery. Great video and running session of the 66.
Thanks Jamie!
Another great video☔️
Thanks David!
Bloody nice looking loco. Love the sound as well.
Great stuff thanks!
Awesome loco and livery Richard!!! Cheers Onno.
Thanks Onno
Great video Richard, I’m quite a fan of this new livery. It definitely stands out in real life and model form. Keep up the good work!
I agree!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome Under Closer Inspection. I personally love this livery as it is very different to other locos
Thanks!
Brilliant video new junction I love class 66
Thanks Graham!
I just saw this recently through my local station for the first time. Certainly a unique livery!
Very marmite
Nice one Richard! Looks great! And by the way i like the new scenery on top of the burger shop!
Haha
Hi richard
Firstly I want to say a big thank you to you as you have given me the motivation and inspiration to get back into the hobby after a 3 to 4 year absence.
Hope we can meet one day and maybe we might meet at warley this year.
Again thank you.
Peter from Birmingham
Hi Peter,
Thankyou for taking the time to comment! Your very welcome, I'm just glad someone likes my videos haha.
I'm at Warley so I'll be sure to see you there!
Regards
Richard
The GBrf 66 is probably one of my favourite diesels. The orange and purple work wonders together!
Great video it looks quite nice and definitely a very unusual livery
Thanks David!
That looks fab - I’ve got some of the ONE containers from C Rail which are certainly striking and I can see myself adding the matching 66 to the fleet. I’d imagine it’s a case of when not if this is released by either Bachmann or Hattons so will probably hold onto my cash until it is announced. In the mean time I reckon we’ll be seeing lots of yours in action at New Junction!
Need to get some ordered :-)
very nice addition and great video as always can't wait for the layout update either!!! I need to do a layout update its quite over due :(
It has been a tad warm so all is forgiven :-)
Nice video, very entertaining
Thanks!
That’s a really great locomotive Richard
Thanks Thomas, I'm pleased
Very nice loco she was working a train close to me 2 weeks ago but I was not able to get out to take a photo )-:
Thanks Pat
Next time Pat hehe
Great video mate loving the new addition but little out of my price range but great addition to the fleet
You can see why I've not brought anything in forever!
Ooh! Got it right aswell!
Bingo
This new livery thing is all a bit of a con really thought isnt it? Surely Bachmann , Heljan etc could just choose to run a 1000 extra body shells off and sell those at say 35 , they obviously wont as they make a killing this way but dont sit well with me the way they exploit . Looks and sounds ok though mate , really pretty sure i will not be having a pink engine on my layout though :-)
A fantastic livery in my opinion
Glad you like it, it's so far been more popular than I thought
I know the feeling about the loft. It has done my ECoS in! It is very bright you either like or hate it.
Leave the loft hatch open to offer some cooling airflow.
@@NewJunction I will try that thanks. Ditigitrains said theirs was still working at 32 degrees
Containers from C-Rail in ONE livery are available too. Would be rude to not get some now you've got that on the layout!
'That' pffft how dare you! haha ordered some today as it happens, just need some of Hattons new container flats when they come out.
I like it👍
Great stuff
Hornby actually made a pink class 66, I got mine for £75 in which is a good price.
a very nice engine as you say the price is eye-watering, wow but you get what you pay for i suppose all the best al 😎👍👍👍👍
Cheers Al, been smashing the overtime for this beastie lol
Very smart looking loco. Cheers Greg
Thanks Greg!
i found out something cheeky with them, the new company that owns freightliner also own the the shipping company one, thats why they have teamed them both together, i really want one in n gauge, defiantly one of those liverys that stand out, it looks great on your layout
Thanks, I love it
Cool
Cheers!
I had no idea they were doing a "Pink Wafer Shed" model (that's what I call it) wasn't too sure about the livery having seen it on photos but its grown on me and I got lucky a couple of weeks ago when I saw it large as life whilst driving a train myself, it was parked up at Stratford waiting for a path on the down main, I wouldn't pay £250 for it but can understand that many will based on the rarity aspect it will likely command.
At that price they do limit the market but for the right person it's well worth saving.
For everyone's information, as one of the 2 painters of this class 66 it is not pink, the actual colour is dark magenta.
Hi Richard, Very nice looking Loco I have to say. You may have temped me in to possibly buying ONE now, (no pun intended) But you are suppose to talk us all out of buying anything models and just drawling or your models, not pull us all in to buying One! lol Great Blog as always, 👍Thumbs Up👍
Why am I supposed to talk you out of it? Haha
It’s a great model, i must say. Was the price with Sound Fitted...?
Hai, at the Rainbow Railways shop are there hornby rails / stuff? ty!
Damn, I was close! I thought it would be a DRS one, but this livery, strangely, looks great on a 66! Pink is the last colour I would put on a loco that's going to get dirty, but hey ho
If it makes you feel better the donor loco was a DRS livery
@@NewJunction ah, so technically it is a DRS one!
Great video richard, defo a marmite livery as its not my cup of tea but who knows maybe we will see some ONE hoppers IRL?
Until the next one richard thank you.
Ha, it'll grow on you Alex!
Now that's a bit special Richard.
Thanks Mark
Excellent loco! What type are those container wagons?
Are they Hornby KFA wagons (apologies but not that hot with wagon recognition)
Great video mate 👍
Great video and also educated me on the Rainbow Railways brand. Please tell me, did you edit and put real class 66 sound on the intro? sounds awesome - Bachmann beware!
Yep its overlaid sound and also the Donner loco is Bachmann :-D
@@NewJunction Thank you for the reply. Let's hope the new hatton's original range of class 66's with sure sound and outperform the others. i feel a review coming on...
Weathering maybe dirty wheals windows as if it’s been raining or dusty dry
Maby one day :-)
New Junction yes like very lightly just take the sheen off
Hattons class 66 ocean network express has been produced
Very striking... and I say that in a very positive way. 😁 It's all rather long, isn't it?
Said no woman ever haha I really like it!
Striking livery and a very European feel to it. A fairly hefty wad of cash but, as you say, if you really want a limited edition you have to be prepared to pay, and they will make a far better job of it than all but the best resprayers.
I have a couple of Rainbow Resprays locos and the work is always top quality, you certainly get what you pay for.
The right peice is worth saving up for :-)
Not to my taste but that is a very good representation of the real thing. I’m pretty sure Rainbow Railways print the colour schemes instead of use transfers. That’s why it’s so crisp.
That would make sense, either way it's better than I could ever do haha
A nice looking Cass 66. As you know to modern for me. Have you been taking extra lessons at "Hogwarts"? On the second rotation, the Tankers and the Class of whatever that was behind them disappeared from the sidings. Martin (Thailand)
Just having a general play, they were proberbly going round lol
Hello Richard, I too invested in a Rainbow Railways class 66 mine is in CEMEX livery, expensive but worth it. You mentioned about being able to return to loft now it's not so hot, I also have a large loft layout and it gets up to almost 100 degrees in summer, I bring ALL my 60+ locos and countless wagons and coaches downstairs (into the house) to prevent them being damaged from the heat. I am approaching 75 years old and it is getting too much for me (going up and down on loft ladder), my question to you is:- am I being overcautious? do you leave all your rolling stock in your loft over the summer and if so has any damage been done to locos/rolling stock?.
I hope you don't mind my asking you this.
Cheers Richard from one Watson (Bill) to another.
Hi Bill,
Thanks for the message!
If we're being honest bringing locos down is a sensible idea and is what should be happening so your right on that one.
Regarding your loft why not use space in a spare room if the attic is becoming difficult to use?
Kindest regards
Richard
@@NewJunction Thanks Richard for reply I just wish I had a spare room in house. Looks like I will have to continue the up and down loft ladder as long as I'm able. Keep producing your excellent videos, I really enjoy them, Bill.
@@geordielad9636 thanks Bill, really appreciate the comment.
Do you think you will ever extend New Junction if you could?
Yes, there is a long term plan which includes a major change like that.
Enjoyable video. The colour on the loco may be OTT, but check out their ships. Great meeting you at GCR and getting me a competitive price on the red 60.
Your very welcome, the pleasure was all mine!
A garish livery seems to be the norm once you put "ONE" on the side. Remember the East Anglia class 90s? I suppose it's a bit easier on the eye than the "Rainbow" scheme. Give me Blue/Grey any day.☺
Pinks the new blue lol
Why do you get transfers and why they not all ready on the loco
They do come prefixed
What could top a sunday evening off.
Very kind Paul!
I haven't even watched this video yet... Saw one of these 66s in Eastleigh once and desperately want a pink "ONE" livery!
I have quite a few 59s and 66s, but NEED this 😁
Now time to watch the video...
Hopfully the video was okay lol
@@NewJunction it was thank you. Good review/overview.
Looks good running on your layout!
Did the heat affect the layout in anyway ,nice model
Luckily nothing major, previous years I've had ballast crack and all sorts.
That’s great mate ,great layout
Wouldn’t it be awesome if you had a new junction livery of an intercity 125 and 225
Like a big 'NEWJ' on the side or something, it would be different.
Exactly
I like it lol
Great stuff
just wondering have you ever through about putting electricity lines through your station so the likes of the 91 can go through?
Yes absolutely
It's on a big list lol
@@NewJunction ah the big list thats for ever expanding getting bigger with new ideas ect, also just wondering after the sadly depart of the famous Everard Junction layout 1 and the problem with the baseboard moving and war[ping ect, have you built your layout to prevent this or it this a worry to that that this may happen ect?
@@ItzChaza yep mines not faced the same issues so far.
@@NewJunction well i hope you the best in the future on the modelling scene
@@ItzChaza thanks pal!
For some weird reason and I love class 66 but I think it looks like a stick of rock running 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha never thought of that!
Nice addition there Richard. By the way, not sure if you have heard but there is talk of Revolution Trains doing another run of the OO gauge TEA tankers in N and OO gauge in 2021. So if this is true. I might be able to pull it off and get 32 TEA tankers in the VTG Blue livery this time as I wasn't in a position to do so last time and the ones on eBay are going for silly money. Perhaps later on in the future and if you are interested. I could lease you a Hornby Class 60 for evaluation if you do not already have one mate as I think it would be great to see a Class 60 in action on New Junction hauling a heavy freight train :).
All the best
Ash
I did used to have Matt shades colas class 60, one of the nest sound locos out there! Thanks for the offer. :-D
@@NewJunction Ah I understand mate and no problem ;).
All the best
Ash.
Is your layout analogue or DCC?
For £244 I would hope it's brand new rather than 2nd hand!
I dont want to ask haha
Well I'm lost for words in what to think of this new pink and white livery colour It's a bit to vibrant for me. If I had a model railway I'd just stick with the liveries from the 1960s BR green 1970s BR blue 1980s BR Railfreight triple grey with the large logos 1990s I've forgotten what the liveries were then 2000s freightliner EWS DRS GBRF.
Very Marmite
That livery is FIT! Certainly want one. Hopefully someone will release it, or maybe I'll have to respray it...
Rainbow Railways in the description ;-)
I know, but I'm not made of money 😂
My issue isn't with the pink, the white stripes help a lot. But the 'ONE' logo - terrible typography.
But I think that Loco fits in nicely with your layout.
Japanese English maby? Lol
@@NewJunction Ha! Could well be.
When you are going to upload?
Upload what?
@@NewJunction your next video?
@@Strictdhe hopfully friday/Saturday
@@NewJunction okey, thanks.
Ha! Nice ONE Richard, ONE was right then 😊 looks the dogs mate, cheers Dazza
You got it! ;-)
Pink G&W, I thought orange was good enough...
More to come I'm sure
couldve waited for the hattons..? lol... gonna be here this week.. gonna be an expensive few weeks... ;-]
They're not doing a ONE livery
yes... i know ... so.. respray!
@@chefblanc now that would be an expensive option lol
@@NewJunction I thought the hattons is (going to be) slightly cheaper than bachman.?
@@class66 I may he wrong but I was informed Bachmanns responce to the Hattons launch is to drop the RRP.
Surely that price of £250 did not include sound
Nope, the sound is a recording of the real deal overlayed:-)
Surly Barbie should be in the driver's seat? Bring back the Purple Deltic!
It's a modern world, Ken is driving ;-)
@@NewJunction Sorry, I do not know who Ken is? I'm having a laugh really but there is a serious note though. What is the 'natural' colour of a 66, there ain't one unlike all the early Types of diesel liveries prior to BR blue 55s 37s 40s etc They seem to come off the production run with corporate colours nowadays!
@@ianforfun1 Ken is Barbies Boy friend.... we wont ask why I know that lol
@@NewJunction Does Jenny E Kirk know it?
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your videos, is there any possibility that I could PM you with an invitation to an exhibition in October. What's the best way to contact you please? Thanks, Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the message, best way is either via email or the New Junction Facebook page.
Ta
Richard
Compare it against your other 66s👍
That wouldn't go down well, mine down run particularly well.
I have posted 2 more vids on my channel and I have got some subscribers, yay
It looks great but £245.00 is a bit steep especially as it's not even brand new. Just think if a modeller wanted all the current locos they would need to win big on the lottery
Or save up like I had to, I've been informed the doner locos are Brand new
£245.00 is still steep !
I know a chap who drives trains for Freightliner, and he was told by the head honchos not to call this "Pink". Its to be called "Magenta". The definition of Magenta in the dictionarty is, "A shade of pink"... Very thin skinned they are. Nice engine, but pink does not suit it at all. Still, nice video mate.
Luckily I dont work for Freightliner lol
Magenta is a prime Pantone colour add yellow to it and you have red
@@lucasjunction9083 if only they had done just that when they painted this livery.
Can you name my layout
Big fan
Not too keen on the one livery about too vibrant
Few weeks I'm sure it'll be as grubby as the rest lol
You still take the price for having the curliest backscene in the hobby.
