Hey Rick, nice opening montage. Like I texted you, I enjoy your opening chats. It is the stories that capture the essence of who the collector is and why they collect. Your love affair with the Dodgers that started at childhood is why you’re as passionate about collecting as you are today. The journey you and your friends took to go to the National and also to Opening Day are stories many of us adult collectors can relate to. Our passion for sports and cards has given us so many wonderful memories that are preserved not only in our minds but also in our collections. It is something I never want to forget as a collector. The walk through your opening day moments through your cards was fun to watch. Congrats on the 68 additions and completing the 2001 Topps and Traded set. Thanks Terry, that song was one of my youth for sure. Sometimes I think my love of the Dodgers turns people off. I think you can I identify with this being a Yankees and Cowboys fan. People come after us, but I'm okay with it. I just love my team. Those days bring a lot of good memories and my memories of the people I went with to Dodger Stadium are priceless. I honestly can't tell you that much of what happened in an actual game, but I can tell you what silly thing my friend or family member said or did at a Dodger game that still makes us laugh. Hi Rick First of all love the intro song it is one I remember as a kid and still sing today. When I was younger before my family moved to Northern California we lived in Alhambra and then Glendora so I know where Temple City is. Great story can’t believe you guys hiked it! How cool is mom letting you play hooky for opening day! I actually have an autographed ball with both Sutton and Ryan on it from when they both played for Houston. As a Dodger fan I loved hearing your opening day stories. Being at the game where all the Dodger greats came back would have been amazing. Love the Pujols and Puljos/Ichiro cards! Congrats on getting that 61 Aaron Allstar, love that sunset! Great video thanks for sharing.
If you lived in Alhambra, that bus I was on went right through Main Street so I am sure you know what I am talking about. What were we thinking back then? Tickets were cheap back then, Mike and our parents had good access to free tickets to. In my teens, if someone at my mother's office had tickets, she'd always get them for me. It was such a different time. Where did you spend your Opening Day's?
That’s really cool. I spend many opening days at Three Rivers Stadium and now PNC Park. I had similar experience with tickets as a kid with the penguins. My mom boss had season tickets and we were gifts many tickets in which I am ver thankful for as I got to see many games of Lemiuex and Jagr play.
@@scootscollectibles I've been to PNC Park and its BEAUTIFUL! That is cool you saw Mario and Jagr play. I am sure you've seen Crosby and Malkin? I've seen them a couple of times. I was supposed to go to the Frozen Four in 2020, but Covid hit. I liked Pittsburgh!
Oh yeah I've Seen Sid and Gino play many time, pretty luck in that regard. Glad you liked Pittsburgh, PNC park is pretty amazing now we need the team to go along with it haha! We need connect the next time I'm in CA i have family there in southern CA, my wife is from there so we visit often.
