In 1972, my father bought a brand-new Johnson 2hp for $163.80 (Canadian $) from Peel Holiday Equipment in Port Credit, Ontario Canada. Maybe put 10 hrs on it before storing it for 48 years in his basement. I'm going to get her going again and relive my youth. Your family looks 1st class on the water. Way to go.
Beautiful video man. I have a 1971 Evinrude 2hp and it permanently has all types of running problems. The 1971 2hp I would avoid like the plague and get something much bigger instead for reliability and for fun
I enjoy you vids I have a a 1973 wards 6hp and a 76 Johnson 25 and a 1957 evinrude 18 and a newer merc for fast cruising. Got to love old OMC and leines enjoy the water cheers from Wisconsin.
Glad to see you all are back! Was a little concerned as there have been no new episodes! I have fixed up an older Feathercraft aluminum boat, and of course added a 1957 Johnson 10 hp! You are correct: they cant be beat! Glad to see everyone is back! Tell Mary I said "Hi" ( I think she's a looker! ) Have a great summer, and HAPPY MOTORING!!
Hello. Did you ever make a video on the 1947 Johnson that was found on the bottom of a lake??? If not I hope you do! That would be a Great story about it! THANKS! manny Perez
i have a 1969 4 hp johnson outboard could u please tell me what oil ratio these old outboards run on? i wanna fire her up but am scared bc i couldnt find anything online about them. this is my first outboard
@@andrewwahl71 I got mine for $100. Spent about $30 on parts for a water pump impeller, lower unit seals, new grease, condenser, spark plug and a carb kit. I sold the 2hp for $350. I gave $200 for both of them. czcams.com/video/CLUEeOtVvw8/video.html
Them old sea horses were good motors the fast strikes were good to they were bad on gas my old man told me if a Johnson not smoking something ain’t right
+logan wightman Sorry, You are absolutely right. English is not my first language and I did not hear it the first time i watched the video. Anyway, thank's f. pointing it out. What a beautiful little motor! I will buy one just like that, as soon as one turns up f. sale!
Ach chi wow wow my poor ears 👂😢 you call that 🎶 singing 🎶. Also 🍻 beer 🍻 and 🛥 boating don't mix. 😮 It's not Miller time ⌚, but time ⌚ for you to wise 👆 up 👆!!!!😊😊😊

Glad to see some new vids coming! Some of my favorite outboarders here! My 68' Evinrude Mate (same motor) goes with me every trip as a backup.
Beats the hell out of rowing!!!
Lovely little motor.

What a cool little motor. That'd be great kicker for slow trolling for Walleye. Can't wait to see the 1947 5hp. Thumbs up & cheers from Wisconsin.
Nice motor, i had one some 20years ago on a canoe. You can lift it with one finger.
Awesome motor, lovely daughters, great beer, beautiful day. What more could a guy ask for? Love the old Johnsons. Thanks for sharing, Aloha!

I have the same exact motor I use it on my inflatable all the time runs to this very day!
It may be slow but it beats the heck out of paddling.
What did the old recreational bumper boats have for engines?
That little motor would be good for a canoe
babe's on boats and good man !

Very simple engine, few moving parts. I have a 1969 model in great condition, runs like a top.
Why Why Why cant they bring back a nice little Simple outboard just like that
How much would one of these be worth today?

Check out the transom 🤣 it’s beat to death. And I’d love one 👍🏻
Is that fast enough at high Idle to troll ?
Cool video. Motor still working?
Hope you're still having fun out there with it.

HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT🤣
:)
You can't sell an outboard like that - no 'machinery guard!'
Clarification: you can't sell one like that today. In 1970 there was no Consumer Product Safety Commission! Ah, the Good Ol' Days!
I automatically assumed you were from California...for the first comment. Then felt bad for judgeing you .
Lovely little motor! Does it have one or two cylinders, anyone? Thank you!
he says its a 1 cylinder in the vid at 3:45

+arnarne absolutely no problem just thought I'd point it out :)
The motor retailed for $142.00 when it was new.
...and it would have taken me three weeks' worth of paychecks, making $1.80/hr and taking home $57/wk, to buy one!
Russ G where the fuck do you work China ?
He's talking about working in the 70's...
In 1963 I bought a brand new 10 hp Evinrude for $360. I paid for it from my job as a paperboy making $10 a week. How times change.
Just don't lose the starter rope, or you might not get home. At least not without rowing, which just might be FASTER!

Hey buddy, we live in America, where beer and boating do mix. Please stay in France, or Mexico, or wherever you're from.
Lol 1.5 hp? Would be faster to just jump in the water and float to shore
