I think... this song can fit into any broken situation we go through. Broken relationships, the government disregarding us, dysfunctional family and parenting... it's, about being forgotten, the fear, anger, and sadness of being forgotten. The final battle cry to be noticed and loved again. The battle cry that we aren't going to take it anymore, and our hearts rise up to fight the forgotteness.

No need for insults to each other, or ones religion, or anything for that mater. Cause honestly, this is the internet, it feeds us so many things everyday. And, I dunno, yah know?

I love the themes present here. I always perceived this song as a typical break up song on the radio but I have a completely newfound respect for it after watching this video and interpreting the lyrics. I see it now for something significantly better. A ballad for the forgotten, the oppressed, and the marginalized. I see it now as a song about love and human rights, pleading in the face of political turmoil that betrays the most vulnerable of us. Beautiful, profound. Well done.

I can't believe this song is 6 years old. It's so special to me, a song of justice, leadership, voice for the oppressed and a real light through the hard times. It seems to have gotten worse since this song has came out but for me it makes the meaning of the lyrics even more powerful. Trustfall is another amazing song with a similar vibe to What About Us, but nothing will ever match this one for me ♥️

Agreed Camden. She does all her singing in concert live, though, so anyone who says she can't sing is just fooling themselves. And videos are always a recording. It allows for shots to be taken from different angles without messing up the continuity of the song.

I love this song. it has a sort of empowering feel to it, makes me feel like i'm not the only one out there who feels weak and powerless. Being bullied all my life and no one did anything except for my few friends, who were also weak, makes you think it's never going to stop. Trust me there are some people with opposite agendas to kill you, will kill you no matter what positive thing you have or remove you without sympathy. It is only when that person is finally is at the bottom do they surrender. There has been countless times when positivity, kindness, and generosity was given but if they have an alternate agenda it won't matter to them unless you or others dictate or push them into a positive direction less harmful. Stand in my shoes and you will know and see. Some will not stop harming you mentally and it is some sort of clinical problem. Either manipulation or a self derived form of pleasure for those who like enjoying killing people or finding ways to kill people. Some will play the part of extreme generosity so if it fails they attempt to look like the good person and the ones they help still look like the worst cause they wont accept help or anything. It is crime documentary scary.

P!nk’s music stays relevant, we could probably draw parallels to our lives where this fits. To me, now, it points to the sad state of the US, a much broader picture to paint for sure. I feel like the good people of the USA have been betrayed by the citizens we voted for to speak on our behalf in the halls where freedom was born. It appears even more so that those in power have forgotten us which points to “what about us?”. Further to this point the strife and division we endure as normal citizens amplifies their greed and power lust. They count on individual greed and gloss over the fire of the American Spirit, which is derived from God to each of us, which inspires charity and fellowship, as well as a fierce defense of each other and their right to live life free. I think this song speaks to the need to rely on each other, our Government is not what makes us strong, our compassion and values do. I hope we can turn the country around and go back to where we loved each other and doing the right thing is contagious.

When you said popularity, we know that every artist has their own character, nothing to be compared each other, and also... the artist has its own popularity era. When we told PINK, she was famous in 2000s. But.. nowadays... the trend of music changes, althought I feel so terrible, coz I think day by day the market of music doesnt see the real character of a singer looks like 80s, 90s.
