    There are few issue's with this perspective of US citizenship. The aspect of citizenship within the context of U.S. citizenship, is a type of "Federal Resident Citizenship status and not natural born "State Citizenship" within the Several States of the Republic. Blacks law dictionary 4th edition clarifies this difference of domicile vs. Resident status. One is actually an article 4 state citizenship status while the other is an "Immigration status" non birth right form of citizenship. See Federal case law Jones vs. Temmer (1989)!

    Maybe they were actually wondering what is the difference between naturalized and native citizenship. In the US there is practically no difference. Naturalized citizenship can be lost in extreme cases such as high treason or if it was improperly obtained (in which case it has never been a true citizenship to begin with). If a naturalized citizen gives up their US citizenship it will be much harder to get it back than in the case of native former US citizens. Naturalized US citizens can't run for POTUS (the only gov job not open to them). That's about it.

      What happens to residency visas attached to the US passport of a naturalized US citizen after that citizen gets denaturalized? For example, the Thai elite visa or the MMR2?

    • @fluidice1656
      @fluidice1656 Před 5 lety

      @@malibu4c772 There should be no difference between denaturalized former US citizens and those who renounced their native US citizenship. I don't know about Thai residency permits (they seem to have strange immigration laws there) but in the case of US, the permanent residency is not tied to a particular citizenship. Moreover, any US visa remains valid even if the passport expires or is lost. In the US visas or green cards are just documents and don't by themselves affect one's status.

      @@fluidice1656 So the only way to loose your naturalized citizenship is if you sign up for a denaturalized citizenship? Or cna you loose in in extreme crime, so you have all the rights as all the other Americans but you cant become a persident?

      This is exactly why I was after this question. Thank you.
      My intention to keep ow this is because you're solely sworn to abide by the pledge you are doing. Since the U.S. has taught us that if you break a contract you're still responsible for it because you've binded yourself to it. So if we're binded to the US why are we not citizens if they can take it away. In severe cases of course. I guess it's just the verbiage or wording of the even that confuses me.

  • @lpchic637

    I assume (without asking my parents) I was automatically approved naturalization at 2 years old when my mom was naturalized by paying dues and reciting her Oath of Allegiance. If anyone was curious about parents and their young children they immigrate with and seek American Citizenship. So I indeed have an SSN and an American passport.

    Just a heads up naturalizing in a country does NOT always give the same benefits as being a natural born citizen. In the US only natural born citizens can be president currently under the constitution. Natural born means citizen at birth...

    • @fluidice1656
      @fluidice1656 Před 5 lety +1

      True. But this is the only job not open to naturalized citizens. Practically there are no differences between the two kinds of citizenship. (See my comment above.) Some people believe that naturalized citizenship can be lost due to serious crime. Not true. Only high treason or refusal to testify in the Congress MAY result in denaturalization.

      @John Smith I was responding to @
      Sandis regarding American naturalized citizenship. What you're saying is interesting though. So Thai naturalized citizenship is more like permanent residency? It gives those who hold it equal rights but only as long as they continue living there? Wow - weird.

      AX depends on the country

    • @fluidice1656
      @fluidice1656 Před 5 lety

      Sure. Same as any other US citizen but with one exception: if your country of birth does not recognize you as a foreigner even after you renounced the original citizenship (cough cough China cough) they may treat you differently.

    Naturalization is “the conferring of nationality, AFTER BIRTH, by any means whatsoever. By this definition, it doesn’t in itself make you a US citizen.

    Naturalization suppose to have seniority is pririority? Becoase lots of people born here there parents are not even immigrant. My parents are immigrant and naturalized citizen of United States of America. My dad came here becoase he is Philippines scout ranger veteran . Now he still naturalized him he swear for this country become citizen .then he petition US as a immigrant. Now I am citizen of United States of America nationality and my kids citizen born here with USA parents like me . That's the different sometimes . Who ever born here and who ever read this have you ever ask your parents if that is important ? It's hard to get those opportunity becoase I know even you born here you can't naturalized your self if you have bad records if your background check is not clear . It's hard to get passports before . Now I don't know it's been awhile . I no travel for me. When I going to meet the king and queen all over the world ? Hehe,,just kidding .. it's good to naturalized your self that way you have buisnes license and I don't think they will tax you if you are Freeman. . It's written in booklet of citizen ship . I just not sure right now if they all know that . If they changed everything without the other as petition .
