Great Ork attack sound at the beginning. Hometown band here Eric. Very interesting sound for rock guys as we are. I'm with you digging this rabbit hole. New music is great weather you like it or not. Happy holidays for you and your loved ones. The Staat is Duh Staat to pronounce it correct buddy.

What you notice first, is the reverb, combined with the crazy visuals (as Barton says), like psychedelic. And yes, they do remind me a little of the Talking Heads (maybe they were inspired by them?)
By the way: the drummer makes me think of Animal from the Muppets.
