Well done, a great job, gives us some hope to try it! Cheers
Thanks 👍. To minimise shrinkage cracking, keep in mind that it doesn't like direct sun much and adding render mesh in base layer helps as well
All the best 👍
Excellent content well done mate
Thanks 👍🙂
thank you for the helpful video
Thanks 👍
Thanks for posting this. I'm using weber ocr today for first time
I've done it yesterday, and today is drying nicely. It is already hard. It dried quite pale.
I do like it
@@mrfxr1695 Hi, I found Weber OCR pretty good to work with but the timing on floating was weird. I pretty much used a sponge instead of poly float as the float was just pulling the gear off the wall. How did you find the timing?
As on video, I left it four hours, it has got to the stage that can be finished, but still felt a bit wet. I had to be quite gentle with the float, because otherwise there was a bit of unwanted drag of material there. I wish I could've left it for a bit longer and then try. Apparently it can be revived by adding water to surface, similar to lime renders, so there is no danger of running out of time with it.
Great video, especially telling the the time you started and rubbed up and even the weather degrees 👌🏻 just the information you need as a renderer. Can you do a video if you ever use hp12 (k rends base coat) 👍🏻
Thanks Jamie, it was my first use of Weber OCR and I had experimental approach. I wanted to test it. Someone else advised to use mesh within bottom coat to avoid cracks and I agree, since couple of shrinkage cracks have formed. Not big, paint will cover it.
All the best 👍🙂
When Weber ocr firms up an orange sponge float rubs it up nicer 👍🏻
@@jamiec4108is that sponging method in place of floating then? How long after 2nd ruled off coat do you wait before sponging / floating?
@@johnwealthy6044 ye instead of the floating. Once it’s ruled off and spatched flat. It’s normally 2-3 hours depending on weather. You will know if it’s to soon it will drag. It’s not the orange float that some people use for plastering, it’s the firmer orange float. Rubs it up lovely.
I also use the power float with the sponge on there. 👍🏻
Nice video. So you can float it then sponge it just like sand / cement? I don't like the K-Rend type of scratch finish.
Thanks 👍
Exactly, you can finish it as traditional render
Try using a refina diamond float to rub up doesn’t need a sponge ! You probably sponged it a hour to soon . Nice job
Thanks 👍
Great work there mate
Whats the round float called and where did you get one from ?
Thanks
Hi thanks
It's called round jointing sponge float. You can get one at Amazon

Ideally still use a scratch like plastering for beginners shows …
Needed some mesh in that first coat, few weeks the cracks will appear
You are right there. It was my first use of Weber and I wanted to test performance of it. Couple of small shrinkage cracks have formed within days of application. I still think it is a good time saving product, but I will definitely use mesh next time
All the best 👍🙂
@@mrfxr1695 the performance only improves with a mesh in place, complete confidence that no cracks will appear over time and helps support the material as it can become slumpy on heavy areas. Good luck when you next use it, great product in my opinion. Regards.
It looks like betokontakt made by knauf which is red in colour 😊
Whats the minimum and maximum thickness levels that it can be applied at?
Sorry, I didn't try thickness limitations yet.
Here is OCR datasheet

They mentioning between 8 and 25mm in deferent applications
Ia it possible to use on top of sand cement render using bond it as top finishing coat
Yes it is 👍
Hi what did you put the beads on with?
Tack them with masonry nails and then fully secure them with fixing foam
Hi! What goes on top of this? Can it just be painted?
Hi, yes, it can be painted as any traditional render, masonry paint, mist coat first
@@mrfxr1695 thank you🙏
You b better off filling d holes instead of making d wall waves.keep floating n not filling holes will leaves waves..
Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that on mind 👍
Is that only one coat you done? No mesh ,No scrach?
It is Weber one coat render. This was a trial to see how will perform when used exactly as per manufacturers instructions. One coat, no mesh. I've got couple more videos where I've used mesh within base coat, but top coat has been applied immediately after.
@@mrfxr1695 does it work well ?
@@kennyx.4028 it is ok, especially for small areas if you need them to be completed in one visit. I still prefer traditional sand cement or lime mortar with scratch coat for any decent size areas
Can this be painted
Of course, same as traditional render.
@mrfxr1695 OK perfect thank you
The red stuff.
It is done masonry coating. It looks like one coat Tyrolean stright over the bricks. The whole back of the house is covered with it
All the best 👍
@@mrfxr1695 Yes, it could be either.
how long until you could paint the render?
Depends on the weather, but if all good, about a week
Sand and cement kick it with some aluminite be done with it in a hour
I agree, but I wanted to test OCR performance and workability
So its not one coat your giving it
It is, they just advise to apply it in layers. Two coat render is where you apply scratch coat first, leave it to cure and dry and then apply second coat.
Over mixed wrong machine mate
What machine should be used?
