A Brief History of Dobroyd Castle. Robinwood Activity Centre. Todmorden

Today was the Open Day at Robinwood Activity Centre which occupy the magnificent Dobroyd Castle that sits on the hill above Todmorden. A chance to get up close and personal with the building for my 250th Video.
Dobroyd Castle was built between 1866 to 69 and, despite its appearance, is actually an elaborate 66 roomed mansion for John Fielden Jr.
Also previously Castle School, and then a Buddhist Centre, today it's a place of fun and games for visiting schools and groups.
I had great fun taking part in all the activities (though I couldn't film many) and stayed for 6 hours in total. 😊

Can one still drive up to it and park. I am disabled (stroke) and find long walking very difficult?

Hiya. It's now used by the activity centre and public only visit on open days (which haven't happened for a couple of years now for some reason) . Sorry I can't be of much more help ....
