The Coise is a character who has his roots in the 2023 indie game Pizza Tower. This game received massive attention all across the globe due to a multitude of factors, such as its long development, its many Alpha Builds, the soundtrack (Composed by Mr. Sauceman and ClascyJitto), its artwork, and the fast-paced gameplay. Initially, this game only had a single campaign, one which you played a characters named Peppino, along with his companion Gustavo, who made friends with a giant rat named brick. This campaign included a brief appearance with a character named The Noise in the form of a bossfight. The Noise The Noise (full name Theodore Noise) is a character who has his origins as a parody of the food chain Dominos anti-mascot, The Noid. Although in-game, his appearance has a short appearance as a bossfight, he initially played a much more active role of being the main antagonist and foil to everything Peppino stood for. He hated Pizza and even sported a Pizza Crusher, although ironically his design sported a hat with a pizza on it and a jumpsuit that had a Pizza-Emblem on it. However, has you might be able to tell, that is not his current design, as he went through many iterations before landing on his final, easier-to-animate design. His design was not something created right before launch, though. In fact, it was pretty early on when Mcpig (The sole coder and artist of the game) redesigned the character. Robby1scool and The Doise Robby1scool (who will be referred to only as Robby from now on) was an avid fan of pizza tower, enjoying the games many builds so much to the point he created two joke ocs: Peddito and The Doise. In a five second video titled simply “Meet Peddito and The Doise,” a single piece of art is shown, which has the very first image of The Doise. Funnily enough, the video itself was created before Pizza Tower was even released, and as such became a running gag in the official Pizza Tower Discord before it was shut down. Pizza Towers Release A few years later, Pizza Towers full release was published on the steam store. As a funny nod to the characters infamy, The Doise as well as Peddito were put into Pizzascares background. That was not the only reference to The Doise, though. Dataminers looked through sprites to rip and upload to popular sites like Spriters Resource. They found something they never expected: A Doise boss portrait. But yet, they had to wait, for the Noise Update had not yet come. But when it did… The Noise Update The Doise was there. In all of his glory, he replaced The Noise’s bossfight when playing as him. His fight is disorienting and confusing, to say the least. Many Doise amalgams in the background, rocks being thrown instead of bombs or noiseys, and the end. The end of the fight with a twisted, demented Peddito with nonexistent eyes. And then, they both disappear, the fight ends, and you win! But something’s off. When you re-enter the fight, he’s dead. …Yeah, he’s just permanently dead and you can’t do anything about it. He’s even dead in the bossrush as well! pretty funny, in all honesty. Dawn of recolors soon after the release of the update, people thought “what if I made my own Noise OC?” However, only one person actually acted on that thought. That person being someone named Rapparep. You might recognize that name if you’re in the CYOP (a mod that allows for custom levels to be built, but that’s for another day) community, or more likely, the Baldis Basics community. Yeah, he’s a fan of Pizza Tower as well, and he made his own Noise OC and art for the hell of it! Introducing, The Foise. The first major Noise Recolor, The Foise is a character who looks and acts just like noise, with the exception of his appearance - a very soapy pink. Along with his custom art and assets, Rapparep sprinkled in some custom coding, notably Foises rock equivalent having lower gravity than rocks. This singular mod inspired a wave of many, many more, finally bringing us to… The Coise After everything, we’re finally here! The Coise is another Doise reskin that is only seen in the Noise Update. Similar to the Doise, his in-battle appearance is a mere recolor of The Noise. However, everything else is completely different. The background, while similar to The Doises in concept, is a wildly different and beautifully composed artwork that The Foise and Doise only dream of achieving. His boss portrait shows he doesn’t mess around, his neck turned a full 180 degrees, a demented smile on his face. His arena is a wonderfully drawn amalgamation of both Flesh and Regular floor, perhaps a metaphor for how The Coise is a perfect balance of both Mod and Vanilla. And at the end of his fight? No force of malevolence picks him up, instead it’s just Maurice, Peppinos brother. This is a beautifully crafted reference to DOOMS Bring Your Own Class mod, and just shows that the creators of the mod know Pizza Tower and its lore like the back of their hand. Conclusion In conclusion, The Coise is a beautifully crafted mod for a beautifully crafted game which i implore you to play as soon as you can.
