I’m friends with Jack yonezuka actually and I’m super proud of his performance! He clearly is going to get more experience but I’m very happy he got to bronze! Great video as always

Where does he train? Good to see him on the circuit often. Must be expensive though

@@handlesonjass his grandfather coached the US Olympic team in ‘88 and ‘92. I been training at cranford for years and have seen him and his brother rise. I think they’ll do really well on the international circuit.

I have volunteered at a grand prix before and I can tell you that usually during the eliminations volunteers control the camera so it's not always tidy, but during the final block there are professional cameramen.
I actually found Yonezuka quite impressive, he might have looked a little out of his depth against Tanaka, but he showed some good Judo in his other contests to get the bronze (he beat the number 1 seed actually)

Jack yonezuka just won the US Open 2 weekends ago in the cadet and senior categories. Couple of battles between him and Dominic Rodriguez. Cool video, love to see it.

Very happy for Tanaka, I thought Terashvilli would be too much for him but he managed to beat him.
His brother is at Tsukuba, so maybe he'll go threre as well? I'm not sure.
This next generation of japanese -73 looks quite good. The high schoolers : Tanaka Ryuga, Takeichi Yusuke (竹市裕亮, brother of Takeichi Daisuke who's competing today at -81kg) and Kihara Keito(木原慧登).
Kihara is still at the second year (and already won the インターハイ twice) so he's been chosen for the World Cadets.

je l'ai trouvé plus impressionnant lors du Graz Junior European Cup, mais bon aux championnats du monde la pression est plus grande, d'autant qu'il a seulement 18 ans. je pense qu'il sera plus fort que son frère à l'avenir.

I may be paranoid, but I have a feeling the judges went out of their way today to make the Japanese athletes lose.

Tbh it was mostly poor strategy and poor decisions (all of them I think got the hansokumake for illegal grip breaks).

@@reymysterio13__50 In any case, it was the first time that I saw a Japanese judoka protesting so much (todaka), after a decision by the referee. I believe that the refereeing is not up to par in this tournament and that hurts the Japanese more.
